I've had to move my S5s and S4+ boxes back off of nicehash to antpool.

They (antminers) slowly lose hash rate after the first 6 hours or so of mining until they're regularly hashing between 750 and 850gh/sec for the S5s and 2100-2200gh/sec for the s4+ boxes.  Rebooting the miner fixes the issue for 6 - 12 hours, then the decay starts.  I left 20gh/sec of hashing alone for 3 days and by the end I was seeing under 17th/sec on average for the last 12 hours I mined.  Losing 15-20% of my hashing power along with the fees you charge me just to sell my hash to you makes it not worthwhile for the antminer gear.

My Spondoolies gear never showed this particular slowdown.

I have a similar issue as well for both the S4 and S5.
Tried manually setting difficulty and such but still did not seem to help.
Hopefully Antminer or Nicehash can find a mutual solution.

the downtime killed our donation stratum proxy links ... which is expected when you are doing such upgrades ...

i went to bed ...

woke to find that not not only are the stratum proxies full functional - but even x15 usa is connected and ready to be used for donation hash to be sent its way ...

will be testing all this today ...

explained all here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1089744 ...

great work guys and gals of nicehash - we hope this uptime can continue and work as well as it is right this minute ...

hi nicehash ...

was just testing the x15 us stratum - and for some reason it just dropped connection and the proxy / miner cannot reconnect ...

this is a regular - and fast becoming a common occurrence - with this particular stratum ...

can you have a look please and see what it is that may be causing this continual lack of connectivity ...

This has been asked several times already; if there are no orders to work on, then of course, your connection will be dropped/refused. X15 is not enough popular algorithm anymore. Currently we have only 4 orders on NH and 1 alive on WH.

ok - so its not the stratum itself that is crashing or locking or hindering the connection - it is the lack of open orders that drops the connection ...

well this explains it ...

the stratum proxies show it as a dropped link - which is why i spoke up about it here - in case anyone actually KNEW what was going on - rather than guess ...

tanx for that ... it really does explain a great deal now ...

What problem with this guy?
He is buying with a HIGH price everyday....

I can think of these 5 possible explanations:

1. There is a new SHA256 Altcoin around and somebody wants to mine as many as possible while it is not yet traded at most exchanges, hoping it will turn a profit (I did this once myself with BTCD and was lucky to sell them all a few months later for 10 times the mining costs). This phenomenon will stop when it becomes obvious that mining this coin has become unprofitable.

2. There is a new mining pool around and its owner needs hash power to find at least a few blocks every now and then, this will stop when his new pool has enough miners or when he runs out of money.

3. Somebody urgently needs to clean tainted coins as fast as possible and doesn't care about the 20% loss, this will stop once all the 700000 coins have been re-mined.

4. Somebody is totally retarded but for some unknown reason he has got vast amounts of money. This will never stop.

5. Nicehash themselves are periodically using parts of their profits to push the prices back above above the 100% level to keep it attractive for the sellers. It will stop once the quarterly budget that is allocated for this purpose is used up.

Unfortunately this forum thread is dominated by the sellers, not the buyers, so buyer problems won't be discussed here. Generally the whole service is organized to make it most attractive to sellers because these are the only people who really care about profitability and will disappear immediately once the green line drops 0.001% below the yellow line. Buyers on the other hand don't seem to care about all this at all, there are far more buyers than sellers, they will happily accept losses of 10% or even more, so it is only consequent to let the buyers pay the fees for the infrastructure, pay the additional 5..10% hidden fees (called "extra rewards") to cover losses of inefficient pool switching, buyers will accept that they are not allowed to change their orders without huge penalties (while sellers can do so as fast and as often as they want), obviously all this works without a problem, so nicehash would be stupid if they did not focus 100% of their service on maximum seller comfort (with zero fees and extra rewards) and pass all the burdens, 150% of the costs and fees on to the buyers who will accept it uncomplainingly.

Main reason your forgot; solo mining  Wink We have seen big jump in solo mine renting lately. A lot of people do blockchain gambling - it is also perfectly clear why - there are no casinos involved where interests are that gamblers loose coins. Interests of our service and solo mining pools are that gamblers actually win blocks.
