Did you get psu's with your kits. Trying to figure out if they got in the power supplies. Are they shipping any complete units? sad that I have to ask but AMT has gone silent as we all know.

Starting this new thread so they could better communicate with their customers was genius.

Yes, I got a 1500 w silverstone power supply with the kit.

However, no backplane, cable, case or lcd.

The fact that they aren't even supplying the lcd with the DIY kits tells you that they are still trying to cut corners.

I may have misunderstood their previous post but I thought they said the lcd was removed from all the machines because the tape they were using was coming loose and the screen was falling over and shorting out the pi or something like that.

All B.S., we all paid $5,999 for the units and all we get are receiving two months later are bits and pieces of the total package.   I paid like $90 for shipment and all I get is a flimsy box and a damaged unit.

So now they are not including the case and the LCD.  Well, the flimsy shipping box has already cost me over $200 in lost revenues.

I still have an oversized brick in my basement with no chance of getting it fixed coz AMT 'support' is completely unresponsive.

The LCD is probably one of the cheapest things after the cables. While I get it, I can also see why not including due to potential shorting is an issue. If that causes a short on a DIY cause someone did it wrong, I can see why it would be an issue. This is not a defense of them, but its also a really cheap part so it would be the a really stupid thing to leave out just for whatever. Their reasoning behind it shorting the PI Because of all the metal on the frame is actually sound logic. The PSU thing is another matter. But I made my peace with that and am ready to roll on it.

That said the whole missing other parts is a whole other thing. Hopefully you can get that resolved soon. Least then you will have a working miner.

ATM- Nobody wants your empty promises or your now outdated, improperly shipped, plagued with problems, "do our job and build it for us" Heap O Crap and/or kits.  We want our money refunded.  I no longer want your over-sized brick, I want my 10K returned to me along with these other customers who you have taken such good care of.  The customers that have given you more than the benefit of the doubt.

AMT not keeping their promises?  SHOCKER!!  Oh by the way, if they don't come through for you tomorrow, WAIT LONGER!!  Also just so you know, NO REFUNDS!!  If you have a problem with that, call one of the many friendly customer service reps at AMT and they will answer your unanswered questions promptly.    If by chance, you get their answering machine, no worries, they will call you right back.  HAPPY HASHING!!

Well, looks like I am one of those folks with a "oversized brick".

Looks like I don't have any other recourse but to talk to the attorneys.

AMT still owes me a working unit and a ROI on based on its MPP.

Just to add insult to injury,  AMT claims on their website:

Quote
AMT 3.2THs Bitcoin Miner

20 units left for April 15th, 2014 shipment.

It is now April 18th.

i asked about the 3.4Ths and it got deleted.

Tomorrow is the 6 month birthday of my 1rst order. just a reminder to AMT that I am expecting my orders to be upgraded to 2.4th/s machines due to the fact that the power consumption being 3 times higher than what I purchased and the difficulty being triple what it was if I would have gotten my machines with in a reasonable time from the advertised delivery date. I have tried my hardest to remain patient through this clusterfuck and have not filed any complaints or joined the class action. I have watched with frustration as people with order numbers much higher than mine have received full miners (although Mpark's were damaged in transit it sounds like he has received the replacements)

Again as stated in my email to Jim in march. Upgrade me to 2.4th/s machines or refund my money in full. These are the only two acceptable options at this point. I am willing to remain patient but if you try to send me 1.2's they will be promptly returned as they do not meet the spec's of what I ordered.

Order numbers 676 and 716

thats was the official line from amt yes. last thing you want to happen is shorting out your kit due to an lcd screen which is surplus to requirements.

all it shows is live speed. gaind by browser page 192.168.1.xxx. and the ip of 192.168.1.xxx which you get by typing ifconfig in pi or visit your router infastructure page turn on pi and see what shows up.

AMT?  What are the specs for the LCD?   It should be some off the shelf Rhasberry Pi component that I can purchase.  I need it to figure out the IP address of the machine.

Can anyone recommend an alternative heat sink for the AMT boards?

There are a ton of different ones on eBay.

I'm looking for one to replace the puny heat sinks that come with the AMT board.  Also looking for one that will fit with the board.

I am going to be going the immersion cooling route after some testing with older heavily overclocked PC hardware. It might be worthwhile as I am not looking forward to monitoring individual chips on a regular basis to make sure they work.

Do you not have the larger heatsink that covers a whole side of the board? Or do you have a bare board with just little heatsinks? I am trying to understand the need for new heatsinks. The ones on there seem fine to me.

No I bought my own (LEPA 1600). I had them already so it works out for me personally. Honestly if they are getting the PSUs and putting them in the full builds I presume they would be the ones they know work with their setup.  But based on all the reading I did in the bitmine forums seems like the LEPA PSUs are the way to go. And they are not too bad pricewise. From what freddyfarnsworth posted on it I went with that as it seems to work. Josh also made a similar recommendation based

Again 20A at the wall is a must. If you try to run these on a 15A circuit you likely will not get the performance you need. I will know once I test. I am going to do a full and objective review of the hardware itself. If anyone has suggestions I will add them on to the review as well. I am posting photos (no video

Friction do you have a monitor hooked up to it? I would recommend hooking up via HDMI a monitor and log in as root and run ifconfig. Problem solved. The LCD thing is just a small display (personally its just a nice to have but not a deal breaker for me). Why wait on a part that will take you longer to wait on when you can easily sort it out yourself? As I will be housing these in a datacenter the LCD is next to useless for me personally. I will be implementing other monitoring tools to monitor the hardware.

Possibly. But those other heatsinks arent covering all the chips either. Which is odd by itself.

I was curious because AMT said once they receive the psu's even the kits would ship with them. Since they aren't communicating I was trying to get a feel for whether or not they have gotten in their order of power supplies.

Well, you only need to cover the coincraft a1 chips.   I guess the Dragon Miner has all its chips on the center of the board unlike AMT where it is spread out at the edges.

I was under the impression it was a reference design. So all would be building them relatively similar based on the bitmine design. I haven't looked into it too deep but I might out of curiosity.

Did you get psu's with your kits. Trying to figure out if they got in the power supplies. Are they shipping any complete units? sad that I have to ask but AMT has gone silent as we all know.

Starting this new thread so they could better communicate with their customers was genius.

I was curious because AMT said once they receive the psu's even the kits would ship with them. Since they aren't communicating I was trying to get a feel for whether or not they have gotten in their order of power supplies.

Got no indication of that. Nor did I ask. I really had just planned on my own PSUs anyway. Seeing that the recommendations for bitmine was those LEPA's I ran with those. But until I have my miners up and operation between today and Sunday I wont have any more to say on the function. I will post up what I find. The review thread will show it.

Do you not have the larger heatsink that covers a whole side of the board? Or do you have a bare board with just little heatsinks? I am trying to understand the need for new heatsinks. The ones on there seem fine to me.

The Dragon Miners seem to have it on both sides,  so I am guessing that they likely have it done right.

Possibly. But those other heatsinks arent covering all the chips either. Which is odd by itself.

Bitmine has a revision 3 board that is different from the AMT (Bitmine revision 2) board.   I believe Btimine had trouble with the revision 2 boards and stopped shipment of any system greater than 800 GHs.   Don't know if it was a power or heat problem.

I think the current AMT design should work at around 800 GHs... 3 boards.

I got 5 boards on the setup. I also got what appears to be less fans on the design. Two larger fans pushing air through. I think from an airflow perspective that will work just fine. I will post some pics tonight to show what I got. I should have one unit functional tonight as it is so I can start with some initial observations and issues. From what I understand they did some work to compensate for some of the issues bitmine was having. Hopefully the work and the review I do on the 1.2 miner helps others here having issues.

Good to see Joshua Zipkin has time to log on to delete my posts, but not the time to address the many issues you have all brought up.

Josh, you are a stupid little man. I hope you end up in prison for all of the fraud you are perpetrating.

Opieum: I'm sure you will end up like many here, with a half-ass working miner that needs industrial cooling to keep from overheating. No one gives a shit about "how stressed out Joshua is" or how you've summed him up to be a good genuine person because of your 'judge of character'. This is business not personal, and he's done a terrible job so far running this so-called business.

Friction: I am wondering why you are investing more of your money into buying parts to get this hunk of crap working. Follow through with the suit and try for your refund. At this point you are just digging yourself further into monetary loss.

Not gonna disagree you are right about it being business to a point. That is correct its a business transaction. That said it also makes sense to follow that transaction with a diplomatic manner so there is always a personal component to it. And that requires making good on your word. I spoke to my own personal experience with meeting Josh. I think I am what the 3rd person to have an actual personal interaction with him from this forum. Phin being the second and Mblackout being the first (speaking about people in this forum). All I did was relate what I saw and my OPINIONS on it. Now people have a choice to either wait or proceed with legal action. I got no impression that they were going to try and screw everyone just that they were looking to make this right for everyone. That I also stated. Everyone here knows they have the option and likely most already have gone the legal route.

What are you contributing to the discussion besides a bad attitude? IF my miner is a "half-ass working miner that needs industrial cooling to keep from overheating". What do you suggest from a technical standpoint to make it work? For every technical problem there is usually a solution. What do you suggest? If AMT does not offer the solution well the community can help each other out for those of us that have working hardware maybe can lay out some insight into how to better get their hardware going. I know I have been trying to contribute with whatever I can when I can.

Once I power it on and it does its thing I will report back on that. If it doesnt work then everyone will know it and also know why.

@Friction, I am going take a look at my miner once I get home and the back-plane. If the back-plane requires no actual firmware or special software to work then its possible to rig a cable up to make this work. while unfortunate it might be a better situation to get your miner working. Obviously you have your options but hopefully this idea might be worthwhile to make this work. That also depends on whether you even want to go that route. Its also cheap to do if its possible

At this point the company thing is a moot point. Its been beaten to death. We all know For those with the hardware we may as well help each other out as that is certainly possible. This hardware uses fairly standard component connectors and opensource software so its possible to make this work. If there are physical hardware problems then that's a different matter altogether. Blown chips and cracked PCBs will require obvious replacements.
