Poll will be exploited by sockpuppets
Can't disagree with you there. Personally I detect fear in your posts. I considered you one of the Top 3 smart people in Monero. You made a mistake with concern trolling and displaying fear out in the open. The fear will be exploited down the road.
Whatever you want to misinterpret or mischaracterize is up to you. I can't control that. They are the correct interpretation and you know it. You reap what you sow. You will continue making the same arrogant mistakes that has caused the problems in the XMR world and then pretend to ponder why you guys keep getting attacked from all directions, or worse yet, throw in your perpetual "oh the BCN shills" card. Think why despite it being a open source and the first community fork of CN it generates so much hate all around. It is arrogant mismanagement and incompetence to build a coin the way it is supposed to be. You just think people don't recognize posers like you in XMR. A majority do, and the gullible have bought into XMR, at least a few are getting out. Bad Karma mate.

It's actually quite simple. The altcoin world is a shit storm of everyone trying to boost their own coin by tearing down others, particularly the more successful others. This has nothing to do with first, last, or whatever. Anyone who gets any degree of success at all gets FUDed, shilled, hated, etc. You're a great example of this behavior in action.

Lying scums like aminorex, rpietila, fluffypony and the rest of the handful of XMR pondscum all caused FUD about BBR and have been doing surreptitiously since the launch. I agree there will always be FUD with success, but there will be FUD from fear and threat too, which is what you are an example of vis-a-vis BBR. You're a great example of this behavior in action. You don't want to go there mate. I am still leaving XMR alone. Some of us want the little guys to get out first. You lot are the poison of XMR and until you guys serve as any sort of figurehead, it will be doomed.

Jesus, are we still flogging this dead horse?
Boolberry is perfect, I've said so from day one, it works brilliantly for google, is unique and friendly.
Just because some here think it should have a different name is no reason to change it. Some of the proposed names are just pretentious and too technical. We want this to work for the layman, not satisfy some small time investors wish to appear grandiose and out-of-reach.
This was settled ages ago, leave it alone.

Good point - oddball names work for tech companies. Maybe you should go start a Boolberry search engine but I'm not going to pay you Googles for it since that sounds dumb.

Why people keep replying to drawingthemoon is beyond me, he sounds like a hyperactive 8 year old, and he certainly isn't doing boolberry any favours. On another note, I really don't see an issue with the name, boolberry sounds pretty fun in english, perhaps market the coin for a large gambling/porn focus, this is where all CryptoCurrency will shine in the near future anyway. Also imagine paying for coffee with boolberries, the local barista/hipster would love it!

I find the whole name conversation boggling... When I talk to (lay) people about Crypto, which is a lot, the quantum leap is to get them to think about transacting in anything that isn't fiat. It all seems strange and alien. Once you get them to do that, and they 'kind-of-get-the-whole-Bitcoin-thing' - they automatically get the benefit of coins that cater for truly anonymous transactions. The last thing we talk about is the name of anon coins... by that point, they are so far outside their normal spectrum of thinking, that you could call the coin (just about) anything you care to imagine. They want to know what's the best coin(s). When I mention Boolberry (and I live in an English speaking country), they don't bat an eyelid. The technology will stand on whether it delivers anonymity and whether it's secure. Then whether its fast and it's usable. Deliver that, you can call the coin pretty much what you wish (within reason ). People are far more inspired when I draw analogies between the talent of CZ and that of a Steve Jobs or a Bill Gates. When I tell them, imagine if they had an opportunity to invest in a Microsoft or an Apple in the first few months of it's inception? Wouldn't they wish they took that opportunity? They don't stop me mid sentence and say... "what did you say the name of that coin is again... couldn't possibly invest or transact in something called that!..." So Rune or Boolberry, same difference. Just my experience on the ground...

We have a VERY clear direction moving forward. The rebranding is the first step in that direction.
Its great that you were a fan of BoolBerry, but the name was been ridiculed in english-first language regions since its inception. The conotations of both "bool" and "berry" are cartoonish in english-first language regions.
Although "bool" has a meaningful technological aspect the pronounciation of it, especially when couple with "berry" left it sounding, to be quite honest, silly.
Although it might not seem fair, having a name that is brandable in English, first and foremost, is a very important consideration.
First i want the best for Boolberry and if the re-branding will help, then i will advocate it. By my self i like the name Boolberry, but i´m not a English-first language speaker. How i understand you would the re-branding have only a positive effect to the english-first language regions. What do you assume how big the effect will be, and will be it worth to re-brand it for this? Do you estimate that it will be a bigger potential first-english language user base as non-english-first language user base ? Hard to say, we just hope that new name and brand will help technology to spread wider.

Boolberry is unique and has no connotations with sci-fi, mysticism or any other geek/hippy shit that automatically renders something as a bit of a joke.

How does changing a name help in this regard? If I find some shit and call it gold, is it not still shit? Zoidberg, we've been here before - I implore you not to change the branding and just concentrate on the tech.

RUNE ?
For fucks sake, that's appalling.
IKR. FFS, CZ... "Rune?" As in D&D RPG nerd BS "Rune? " Let's just change the name to NeckBeardCoin instead. At least that will come up in google. We have a cool name and nifty logo that normal people will like. Why change it to something black metal loving hentai fapping pizza face basement dwellers prefer? Vortex is even worse and already taken by a shitcoin. And other one is beyond atrocious. Devs should never be allowed anywhere remotely near branding and marketing! If CZ wants to use his Benevolent Dictator power to simply change Boolberry to Rune by executive fiat, that's fine. It's his coin. But it is not OK create a sham vote to put a fig leaf of fake democracy over the decision. That's what the Soviet Union did while pretending to be a republic instead of a dictatorship. Sure you could vote (it was compulsory) but all the candidates were from the same Commie Party! The correct way: 1. Poll to decide on A) Keep or B) Change name. 2. If 'Change' wins, hold poll to decide on top two candidates for new name. 3. Hold a run-off between top two choices. The incorrect way: 1. Don't ask if we want to keep or change the name. 2. Put up a preselected slate of craptastic names. 3. Pretend the preordained change to Rune was done with the consent of the community. As a large hloder of BBR, this Potemkin Vote is the first and only thing that I've disliked in the history of the coin. Bad move CZ. BBR is too established for a rebrand and it's a great name anyways. At least spell it 'Roon' so it's unique and looks more like Moon.

I like "Rune". It's simple, easy to remember, and relatively easy to market. Also, I can imagine people actually using a cryptocurrency called "Rune" in the real world.
NO: "Your order comes to 4 Boolberries, ma'am." YES: "Your order comes to 4 Runes, ma'am."
Also, your revulsion of "Rune" due to your subjective association of it with D&D and neckbeards says more about you than it does about the name itself.
