Great quote. I agree with it in some cases. After some people expressed concern over the rebrand I reach out to two of my friends. One works for FormulaPR http://www.formulapr.com/ and the other works here http://www.hlgrp.com/ for HL Group. I sent them over the 4 names and asked for some feedback. Both of them are familiar with bitcoin and I explained to them a little about the basic Anon technology and purpose of BBR. My first friend liked Secore the best. The other one liked Rune. I asked them specifically about BoolBerry and they both responded that it was their least favorite choice given the nature of the technology. One actually said it would make a good name for a childrens toy.

I guess you're the guy who says coin x price is collapsing because a whale is buying up the coin, when in fact the coin is dying.
It's interesting that you mention this. Has anyone checked the order book on Poloniex since the rebranding started? There are now over 150 BTC in bid walls for over 300k coins. That is close to 25-30% of total supply. I am assuming this is the first time there have ever been this many bid walls. Looks like someone(s) is accumulating. Guess not everybody thinks the rebranding is a bad idea If you're so confident, allow a fair and open vote. Rune sucks. I don't make the rules here. I'm just trying to help the team. If you want, PM me and lets talk over all your concerns.

It was for what the new brand would be.

Anyone watching this thread about XMR? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=786201.0If xbc is right/honest and such a vulnerability exists, it's probably an issue for BBR too, as the vulnerability is allegedly in the ring-signature implementation (i.e. the cryptonote protocol). Question is - is there such a vulnerability, or is it a market-moving FUD collusion? edit: Choice of proposed names sucks. Boolberry is notably superior from a marketing perspective. Conservative is boring.

Don't bother the authorities with mere facts. Their minds are made up, and have been all along. The fake vote is just for show and sake of pretense. sussex destroyed their false logic, yet they still play games and patronize us with rigged polls designed solely to produce their preferred predetermined outcome.

You know, I have seen something similar to what happens in this thread. Such situations arises every time when marketing switch its goal from hardcore fans to casuals. I'm hardcore MMA fan and I have read many threads like this about what a shame to something that looks stupid or boring for hardcore fans, but very attractive for casuals. Every small MMA promotion should do things like adding prowrestling-like features, giving title fights to popular but not very strong fighters or even to retired veterans, etc. before it become big and popular. The reason is casual number is much bigger than hardcore fun number, and all big promotion gets main part of its money from casuals, not fans.
Here we have something similar: bitcointalk is a forum of hardcore cryptocurrency fans, but new coin should attract casuals, the people who never knew even about bitcoin, this is the only way to great success. And you need quit different things to attract people from other altcoin threads at bitcoin and to attract people from the Big Internet. And first one dislikes the most things second one likes, it is natural. And we should remember about this when we are discussing new name.
Sorry for my ugly English.)

Let's do a open vote. The problem with votes on this forum is they really do tend to devolve into ballot stuffing by trolls and sock puppets. There is no good mechanism to do it. Probably better to just conduct an open poll, recognize that the results will be a bit of a joke, but at least everyone has a chance to be heard. The developers then just reflect on the input and make a decision (much as CZ did a long time ago when first deciding whether to keep or replace Boolberry). A vote where choices are limited and where people's posts are being deleted is the worst of both worlds. Some feel muzzled or censored, all for no good reason because there is still no real integrity to it in the end.

Conservative is boring. Vulnerability is related to hash rate and difficulty retarget and BBR differs from XMR on these. Right now BBR is getting dragged by Monero fanboys to make sure slippage to BBR doesn't happen and nothing else. I bet BCX never even knew where the BBR repo on github was let alone test it in sandbox like he initially started doing on XMR. This is similar to what happened 2 weeks ago when XMR was attacked. XMR Fanboys were running around letting people know the vulnerability existing in BBR too (technically true), but BBR wasn't attacked and had implemented a fix. This whole thing sucks because of a few dumbasses who are XMR propagandists, the market is not recognizing and supporting innovation.

Is this how the market expresses it's enthusiasm for the rebrand?

I follow this forum at least several days a weak, and I didn't know about the renaming until today. So if there is an effect I would imagine it's too small to be considered relevant to the over all price.

That's odd because windjc has used even more tenuous "statistics" to prop up his arguments for a rebrand, why is it good enough for him and not good enough for me? You can't have it both ways, so which is it to be?

You can't have it both ways, so which is it to be? You misunderstand. I think its a great idea, but you have to give it time to leak out. People need time to become aware of it. We live in a very insular community here. You have altcoins, than you have privacy related altcoins, then you have cryptonote. It reminds me what my mother always said. You worry to much not everything is about you, most people are more worried about themselves. I think that goes for fans of cryptocurrencies. This is a big deal, I agree but, to the altcoin community its relatively small even in relationship to trades involving BBR. Meaning people have no idea, and only have a stake in the coin as far as they can profit from it.

No, I didn't mis-understand, I also don't believe you can judge the effect of a rebrand on price yet. I was trying to illustrate the constant stream of logical fallacies that are being employed by the pro-rebrand cabal, I was expecting (wanting, even) to be called out on this as a way to turn the argument around onto them. I hope it's working. Everything about this renaming is wrong, from the exclusion of the most popular name to the arguments presented in support. A coup d'état (/ˌkuːdeɪˈtɑː/ ( listen (help·info)); French: blow of state; plural: coups d'état), also known as a coup, a putsch, or an overthrow, is the sudden and illegal seizure of a government,[1][2][3] usually instigated by a small group of the existing state establishment to depose the established government and replace it with a new ruling body.

As pretty much of an outsider, I've been on several forms, from the stealth coin forum, to Korecoin which is really interesting with there anonymous ViOP and eventually there adding video so a kind of anonymous Skype. From my perspective, the reason that Boolberry isn't seeing any action is that its grown stagnate in the alt coin environment. The top coins are the ones that are constantly innovating. Stealth has messaging, and now there working on a Open Bazaar market place etc. I think a new rebrand wouldn't hurt Boolberry. It'd be fresh all over again, people would see a different name out there and go what is this all about? The give the coin a fresh look and see what makes it such a great coin. People see it in a exchange and just pass it by and say oh that old news, I more interested in Stealth, or Saffron, or NXT with all the Buzz going on around them. KoreCoin just started to buzz with this ViOP think. I was over in that forum. I've been over in forums of some really small players as well. If you jump around like I have you really get a feel for what going on out in the larger altcoin environment. I can tell you this Boolberry is very rarely mentioned. Its kind of has been coin.I disagree with that because I think its the best privacy solution out there, but average investor wants action something to get excited about. I think a re-brand might do that. I personally don't mind the name Boolberry, but some people find it embarrassing because of the link to the male genitalia
Anyway that is my 2 cents, I'm probably full of shit, but just giving my opinion. I can see I did misunderstood you. This is all pretty new to me, been only doing Bitcoin four about 5 months and alt coins for about 3 of them. So there is a lot I don't know.
