Too bad, I was very interested in this coin, planned to invest in it, but the fact that they changed the terms of the pre-sale with no advance warning makes it a non-starter for me. No mention was ever made of a 50% allocation between BTC and MSC investment. People were misled to believe both were allowed up to the total Safecoin to be sold.

They messed up - they should expect it, tons of MSC holders were waiting for a quick exit...

I expected about 20% of the pre-sale to go quickly given sales volume of MSC over the last week, the unknown was how much existing MSC holders prior to the Maidsafe announcement to accept MSC alongside BTC at a fixed ratio would exchange MSC for Maidsafe, which turned out to be a lot. Trying to peg exchange rates never works in the long run, whether it is bimetallic standards in the 1800s, fiat now, or crypto.

By changing the terms of their offering during the IPO, Maidsafe has lost credibility and temporarily devalued the value of the currency most of their funding came from.

The MaidSafe Foundation, a registered charity, actually own the patents.
In order to use MaidSafe, you have to trust The MaidSafe Foundation who is simply the MaidSafe staff.

It is against the idea of decentralized and free Internet. MaidSafe aim to replace Internet by making it centralised. This is absurd.
MaidSafe will have access to your data any time, will be able to sell it and I think they will do as they are greedy as hell.

That is the first problem.

The second is I am not at my home computer.  I thought I would have a little more time to send some bitcoin in.  If they just let some whales buy up all the coins in the first couple of days I would be rather upset and would never support this coin.

Their greed and attempt to get as much bitcoin as fast as they can indicates there is at least a little scam potential.  Either that or some very poor judgment.

To be more exact, Maidsafe is not a coin. It is a project aiming to achieve a Decentralized Internet for everyone. Safecoin is just a token of MAIDSAFE. We use the safecoins to raise  fund. Anyway, MAIDSAFECOIN may be the first usable smart property based on the first decentralized coin(BTC） and the first  Decentralized Exchange in human history.
