My problem is: I have downloaded the latest version of the wallet v.0.8.6.2.5, but everytime i start it i cant get any connection to the network and it says:" No block source available". Its the windows wallet.
I have no problems with others tho..

Does any1 have had the same problem/ or just know how to fix it?

PND - as useless as that coin is - is showing us how the switch to POS can be done correctly. Look at the price of that thing! up nearly 500%. We need to get things moving on the POS front of we are simply going to be forgotten about, Karmashares or not, I think. Too many Karma holders are dumping their coins and their isn't enough buy support to hold us above 40 Litoshi. We need that volume that PND is currently attracting and we need to soon.

new wallet is not syncing for me.

• windows
• not my first wallet upgrade but very frustrating non the less
• backed up wallet.dat
• installed new wallet
• deleted roaming files(although not really necessary because of name change)
• pasted wallet.dat in new roaming files

wallet opens and shows history but does not connect to network.

good job with the trying to moving the coin forward. To be honest I had given up on Karma myself but someone on the Poloniex site in the troll box re-sparked my interest enough to read about the changes.
Been mining again and have a couple million on pool site but cant move with broken wallet.

Tried at 2 pcs, one with win 7 no conf and another one win 8.1 with conf.
Checked the log and all the connection to the nodes are "time out".

Same here as I haven't been able find an active node since I decided to retrieve some freshly purchased karma yesterday evening (5/5) using the latest Karma-v0.8.6.2.5 Windows wallet on Win7, 32bit. Also unsucessfully tried adding "addnode=" entries in karma.conf from two old postings (one in the the original bitcointalk thread and another in the cryptocointalk forum) with debug.log showing time-outs and lastseen=70-100 mins for all entries. Presumeably other nodes are syncing therefore if anyone could share a few active nodes to add to karma.conf (which I believe was renamed from karmacoin.conf). that would be greatly appreciated.

On another note, Greetings ALL, this is my first bitcointalk posting. Doing good with Karma really resonates and there's a cause close to home I'd like to consider funding. Hopefully I can get my wallet syncing to retrieve my karma and possibly participate in Karmashares which I understand needs to be funded from a private wallet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

now that i think about it. it could be your problems with firewalls. most likely window firewall prevents certain port numbers to recieve information. Here is that you should do.

manually edit the karma's .conf file

1. go to \AppData\Roaming\karmacoin folder

2. in there you should see a config file. if you do, just edit to with the info below

3. this is adding a new configuration file. what you do is you open a new text file. (right click--new--"text document")
 
you open this with a text editor. most likely notepad.
make sure there is nothing in the document. then add all these lines

rpcallowip=192.168.0.*

4. all the red color text are options you can change . the blue color port number is the text you need to choose from : 8800's - 9999. You chose a port number that you will not use it by other devices and more importantly by other coins.

As tempting as a 500% value increase in short term might be, I'm not sure that a change to POS would benefit or if it would even be detrimental to Karma in long term.

Have in mind that we are not striving for 500% increase in a week.

We are striving for 100000% increase in months/years.
And this will be accomplished with successful Karmashares funded projects, and services that are being built around Karma.

PS.. I do not use a config file and everything is working fine here... to check that your config file isn't causing a problem just move it or rename it and restart the client.. (you can always move it back after)

also make sure you are running the wallet with the logo that matches the front page of this thread... if it has the old logo then you are using the old wallet and you should update it

I would like to solo-mine Karma. Can anyone help with settings (links or tutorial)? I am using cgminer 3.7.2

I run a small 1.4 mhs mining rig. I would suggest you have at least 1.0 mhs of power.
Follow this post exactly and you'll be mining solo easy.

Make sure your wallet is the most current v 0.8.6.2.5 and fully synched.
Don't get fancy with settings, Just let the cards do their thing , after starting all stock and just playing with intensity
the only settings i use are -I 12 -g 2. Your card will determine thread concurrency it likes as well as engine and memory.

Running two threads at lower intensity is more efficient and your cards will run cooler.
I do have auto fan on one card that runs the monitor as it tends to run a little hotter than the others.
Also getting crazy with clock speeds, driving the cards hard  and such I think causes more rejected blocks.

When you know its mining the log of cgminer will say:
"Network Diff set to 5" (or whatever diff is at the time)
and next line will say
" New block detected on network". this does NOT mean you found a block but simply that the wallet
(which you're mining through) has recognized one. They release on Karma network about every minute.

When your miner "finds" and solves a block your "A:" in cgminer will show accepted work, when you get an orphan it will hit your "R:"
for Rejected work. On pools this is work on shared blocks the pools power has found. Solo mining this is all your work on a block your miner found.

Some days my miner will find several blocks.
Yesterday all it got was several rejects (orphans) but when you find and solve one....its all yours!
Sorry for long post but this is all things I had questions on and wish I had found all in one place.

At the moment there is very little interest in Karma going by the buy volume on Mintpal the last 7 days. The sells outnumber the buys by a significant margin and the sell walls keep building up. Karmashares is a great idea and could make us all very wealthy - However, if we can't attract buyers now we wont get off the ground. The market appears to have made it clear - POS coins (bar Mintcoin which isn't going anywhere but still has considerably more volume than us) are where the BTC is going.

If the market is prepared to put their BTC into coins that go POS as opposed to coins that operate as POW and POC then we need to respond to that. It's time to start planing the transition and the code so its all smooth and professional - we have the people here with the skills (unfortunately I am not one of them), but it needs to be done with care. Even an announcement that the coin will switch to POS in the near future is better than it being up in the air.

We saw what the announcement of Karmashares did for the price, the announcement that POS is coming would probably have a similar effect to what is happening with PND. People like definite answers when it comes to potential investments - PND made the announcement and BOOM up she goes. Once we get the volume we should be able to hold it steady above 100 Litoshi given our upcoming projects etc. but without the initial volume there really is no reason for anyone to scroll down page two of mintpal, find Karmacoin, pick it out over and above any other coin, go to the official site and forums, learn about Karmashares and the various projects etc.

WE know its a great coin - but others don't, and infact have no reason to suspect so - the volume is pitiful and the price is declining daily, albeit slowly.  Lets bring Karma back to the average traders attention rather than sit and wait for something to happen with other coins, because if we do that I'm afraid we will be forgotten about rather quickly.

Karmashares did it`s job. It is time for POS on 51-52 bill and push for BTC market. We voted for it and I think we should do it, if possible. No need for waiting anymore. Different signals to the markets are no good in long and mid term.

Are you joking ? Karmashares just started its engine two weeks ago, it has almost no ''power'' for now, all is coming in few future weeks with the 3 IPOCO websites projets (Lill, Wespond, Hireplex). Once they will be open, Karma will start to be very HOT and attractive !

I am looking long term, if we are able to make it and succeed and stay PoW only, we will be celebrated.  If we switch to PoS and succeed there will be an asterisks there.

I mean, this is Karma, we are a LiteCoin clone like Doge.  We have a clearer vision and better plan of action than most.  Let those other coins pander to the quick buck and go PoS.  In terms of securing the networks, there are already theories of joint mining where we piggy back onto another clone for merge mining (http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/charlie-lee-proposes-merged-mining-ltcdoge/2014/04/08) and strengthen each other's network against a 51% attack.

There are going to be tens and maybe hundreds of other coins wanting and willing to do this at some point.  Maybe Karma will lead the way with merge mining?  

We have PoC already in action and in the long run will gain much more supporters through the respect and perseverance of staying PoW than messing with a hard fork to PoS which could potentially lose coins that were mined properly.  

I look at going PoS as a last ditch BadgerCoin effort, if we are at 5 Litoshi near flatline, auto PoS activate!  Let's hang tight right now and see how this unfolds.  Again, I am not against PoS if we all agree on it, just don't want to jump to anything before it is completed vetted and all current and future options are weighed.

Sorry that you have to quote your question...It's actually a lot lower than that, many pools seems to forget to update their calculators at present a 1Mh/s rig averages 100 000 karma up daily.
