I bet it was learminer, he looked hungry haha.
You overestimate my purchasing power, lol. But I have a gut feeling there are a few people out there right now that are bullish about Karma and want to get a piece of the pie. So I was pretty confident they'll take that bait. And they did - yumm.

While I am not following the markets as closely as CatKiwi, I do pay close attention to the trends and timing of bigger buys/sells. I don't know who the big market players/manipulators are, but by now it is obvious they are here and watching. None of the recent price actions are random, or small buyers/sellers. But there are apparently conflicts of interest.

The people that are pumping the price are new to Karma, they probably don't have huge amount of coins yet and still accumulating. They have also been - relatively - smart and coordinated in their moves. While they did cause almost 50% price increase, they did distribute their buys over multiple exchanges and a longer period of time (at least several hours a day over multiple days).
The dumper(s?) on the other hand are either people with massive mining powers dumping their mined coins coins (unlikely though, some of these dumps are far too large to be "new" coins), or someone that already owns an enormous amount of Karma and either wants to "get out", or has "other" plans for this coin (plans that don't involve a premature price increase). His/her dumps are almost always done in a very short amount of time and often on only one exchange. Which leads me to believe it is a single big whale...

A Karma rich-list would rock, does one already exist?

Price stability (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with the Karma community doing things right so it should have nothing to do with debating if we should change things or not. The thing that will give the widest distribution of wealth is increasing the number of people that know about Karma.

says you buddy... Price is directly tied to market confidence which comes from information which being provided by... *drum roll please*... the community....

so to say that community actions do not influence price stability is..... BS.. IMO..

Alright, I'll rephrase.

Price stability (or lack thereof) doesn't necessarily mean the Karma community is doing things right or wrong, therefor the price being stable doesn't indicate that we shouldn't debate if change is required or not. This is because there are pumpers/ dumpers, market manipulators, sheep, people that have no idea what the community is doing and people that make incorrect assessments of how well the community is doing.

I do agree with you that prices are influenced by market confidence and the community.

I also think that community actions influence price stability.

Lots of love,

Chargin.

I'm more than happy to have the debate continue...
all I said was that people should consider the direction that the coin is already heading in while continuing the debate... (ie up)

Markets hate uncertainty... and that being the case I absolutely agree things should be thoroughly debated before changes are made which might create further uncertainty.

sure there is always going to be intra-day volatility but all in all I would say Karma has held up pretty well considering where it was a few weeks ago.

that's all I meant..

good hunting to everyone...we all have our opinions on how these coins should be traded/invested on a daily basis.. I'm pretty happy with what I've managed to accumulate so far even though its still quite modest.. I started buying when this coin was 3 Satoshi... and I'm green now so im happy Grin

Seems to me like there was genuine buyers followed by miner selling or some shaky hands . As we can see no a lot of dumpers so we have a new high walls now in mid 40s. As the days pass that floor is going to get higher and higher. Not easy to dump your coins and be able to buy back to get back to same bag hold as before.

Who ever bought at 30 and sold at 50 now have the ability to buy back less coins. The real pump and dumps are effective if they can buy at 30 and then crash it back to 30s to buy back and sell again high. This cycle is how they are able to get some ltcs. But when the price doesn't fall back and stay high they just lost their leverage.

So i doubt it was anyone trying to pump it so dump it with gaining. Just genuine buyers followed by some shaky hands. This is healthy. Who ever bought at these prices , if they did it to sell back with profit they will sell them back at 70s or more.

Hence to me it doesn't look like a pump cycle. Just an ordinary healthy cycle. Created by people who want to buy and hold and previous buyers that sold that do not care about the coin and want to get some ltcs.

We welcome this cycles. Because who ever wants to buy now and sell back at 70s for profit will create us a higher low floors. This is because most of the buyers that they will sell at 70s will be of people who want to hold their coins.

We can easily see this as the numbers of coins on sell in mintpal is getting slammer and smaller. Two months ago we had over 2 billions on sell at all exchanges. Now they are at 800k (checked from last night)

Keep selling you big bags now. There will be no one selling them back to you. : )

That 100 LTC buy wall at 40 is extremely risky. Sparse support until 33 Litoshi which was our previous stable price level before the pump. If they genuinely wanted coins they would stagger the orders upwards. When I see large Buy walls like that I know they are slowly dumping their coins above it. Gonna watch for a while before I buy any more.

Well. When i buy. I do not go buy up and up. I out an order at a fixed price. Because i have enough karma. But since i get a free Btc to invest then i would place the order about 2-4 litoshis down and let it sit there. My buy order will guarantee me that if people sell it would get me more coins then i go and buy up to 50s. At the same time it pushed the other people buy order up. Anyone who would want to buy they would place a higher order or sit there and wait for my coins to get bought first.

How did you get a free BTC to invest??

Hehe. I mean when i get a Btc freed up. As in i have one Btc from other investments. I try to day trade other coins. Buy them low and sell then high. Sometime coins get a good bump.

That's the reason why i say i would not sell my karma coins anytime soon. Most likely. Never. Probably keep investing them in other projects like the LLC. Because once i sell. Even i would make a profit i was never after a small gain and i probably would not be able to get my coins back.

Simple example. You buy 200 mills at 1 Btc. . Sell at 60 for double profit. At this moment i have 2 btcs but no coins. Most likely the price will not come down so if i buy back i would have to try to buy back at 3-4 litoshis back. But there is no chance i will be able to buy 200 mills at that price. Most likely 70 mills. So now i have 1.3 Btc and 70 mill karma. Yes i made 0.3 profit. But i only own 70 mills karma. And as time goes on. It will continue to be expensive to buy more. Making this kind of trade bad. Because of ability to buy back is harder because the coins get scarce. Whats the point of missing out for. 0.3 gain? Not worth it.  Well. Because i believe in karma.

yeah.... oh man I had not much but converted all but doge into karma... I cannot possibly believe that doge goes lower... just waiting to get my investment back to buy more Karma!! However, in the end we all need to put effort into the iPOCO projects the make this a real success. I wish I could do more on the dev side... but it helps if we all keep believing in this thing! Distributed cooperations man. Distributed systems are everywhere. I am just writing a phd on resilient systems. Diversity and redundancy is the key for sustainability in ALL systems. Distributing the economy is just logical and the only way to get over those crash cycles found everywhere where dependency is too high

Prices have been stalled for about 36 hours now. I think they have hit their holding point for now. They might go up, but the volume has been dropping so I wouldn't count on it yet. In other words, now is the time to buy in.
