Hello, I am new in the monero world and english is not my first language,

May be someone can help me? I tried to send some from mymonero to my Gui wallet. It dosent work, I got the message "invalid adress prefix". When I am checking my adress which I generated with the Gui interface, I noticed that it will not start with with "4". I made a new Gui wallet adress, the same again, without the starting "4". May be because there is no "4" I cant send? Some body has an idea, Thanks....

Does it start with a 9? If so, you likely have the testnet wallet option checked in the wizard.

No, it doesnt matter with or not testnet option I always get worse adresses, the last one without nestnet started with "A", I have win 10 system 64.

That's rather odd. Could you post a screenshot of the Send tab of the GUI?

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

mining emission does not change.
And?
In case if big amount of coins sells immediately once they mined then it's made pressure on price

I believe your analysis is spot on.  But your suggestion that the devs do something...

1.  What do you expect them to do?  This is just one side-effect of the cryptonote CPU mining strategy.

2.  Even if there WAS something they could do, I doubt they would since the cypherpunk/freedom/decentralized values run deep in the project and it's devs.

One other thing...  whatever selling pressure might be created by botnet masters is simply nothing in comparison to the LACK of buying interest in comparison to the other major cryptos.

14 coins are currently trading higher volumes than XMR.

Bitshares volume is 10x Monero's so far for today.

Healthy buying interest should easily overcome the amount being sold by botnet herders.

But it is not, currently.

MOnero is not moving beyond 0.02 btc range.I invest in monero and was expecting it price to rise but it has proved to be a bad investment for me till now.Seems I have to hold relly long to make profit
This is mainly caused by BOTNETS, which mine monero (it seems that about 30-35% of the entire monero network hashate - botnets). These fa**s increase net difficulty on 25-35% just within few hours. They sell a large amount of xmr and holding price in the range of 0.017-0.018btc
And Devs do not do anything  Embarrassed

mining emission does not change.

Despite this, it is very stable and this is a strong currency. Monero is obviously not employed to gamble but I still believe it is a good investment.

It is impossible for DEVs to do anything about that. Please enlighten us on how they could?

Not to mention that is the best use case for botnets! Ensuring the chain of the worlds only truly Fungible currency is in effect a boon for mankind rather than having them DDOSing or other nefarious acts.

Thats what I thought about botnets at first. Nice decentralisation.... But thinking further:if they ever get critical mass and all point to the same pool we may have a chance of a 51% attack?

That threat is always there (if they are mining or not) no matter what from any botnet anywhere so don't sweat what you cannot control. I'm sure many governments can do this as well. I think dwarfpool is full of them myself.

multisig is ready for testing: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6gx7zm/hello_fellow_human_beings_lets_help_test_multisig/

If you can help out with testing, I would think it would speed up the delivery date (I'm not a dev...just my guess). To make it even easier, if you're on Ubuntu 16.04 or an Ubuntu-like OS, here's a script to download and compile the test software. Save it as install-XMR-multisig-test.sh

Kinda ready I suppose. This is just hot from being made to work, but there are many sharp edges left, which is why I've not PR'd it yet for review. So keep that in mind, it's not tested much yet, and thinks could easily go wrong.

Hi there and welcome. There are a few, some better depending on where you are situated.

Poloniex, Kraken, Bitfinex, Bittrex just to mention a few. Can use fiat on Kraken and Bitfinex. For the others you need btc or some other coin first.

Hello guys i just transfer some coin from mymonero to poloniex then got error invalid transaction and i retry it again, and get same result and the third attempt i am using bitrex address and got same result

and after 5 minute after my last attemp my balance decrease but neither in poloniex nor in bittrex wallet receive my transfer

so my question
1. how to proof that i already sent coin ?
2. how to get back my coin? ( if it's just error in mymonero and acctually the transfer never happened, when the coin back again?)

thank you

HAHAHA that guys a moron and anyone who listens to him even dumber. His plan can not work for CPU mining.

Yeah that would be great for XMR devs to listen to that scamming tool.

As an investor, it's awesome to read about Monero's humble beginnings in this thread. Currencies that have been around this long with this much activity will weather any noise from the markets.

Its a cpucoins problem. Dont worry, with asics the problem change. Remember dash and GTA V miner... a cracked version of the game with a dash miner inside, the virus had 40% of the hashrate! (before asics)

Be careful.

Can anyone tell if Monero resolved problem with the anonymity of transaction that was recently revealed?

That was only on transactions that were sent with a mixing level of 0 and was only showed to be linkable that has been addressed years ago and was first pointed out to all cryptonote devs by the Monero team!

What your referring to is just a fud storm created by Zcrap trusted setup team. I would far more worried that they are creating unlimited coins without you knowing about it then a change that was made in Monero years ago!

So we have the price being intentionally depressed and Fudders posting. Looks like there's gonna be another spike soon. Cheesy
