Hey Patrick, is there any more detail on some of the recent innovations you guys are working on? I'm salivating in anticipation of any whitepapers etc.

I note the donation address hit 100k, but has had debits and credits and is currently -15k from 100k. Are the debits from staking? Any updates? Would be good to hear something official.
I see you were testing the SMS gateway on Twitter today, any posts here would be good as I'm sure there are more eyeballs refreshing this thread.

I have never ever bought any coin at current ATH but just bought VRC at 5500... let's see how this goes.
you rebel! I think you made a good call I hope you are right. My take on this is that CryptCoin is a scam (no working anon tech at all) + XC anon concept is flawed = we will soon see big volumes shift to VRC. I think this is going to keep happening with lots of coins tbh, people make it too easy :/ I haven't laughed this hard in a while. +1 foxy Good skills! In all seriousness though, of all the shitcoins you could have posted this joke in, this coin is the one you choose? I think of all the PoS alts so far this has the most realistic chance of implementing actual strong anonymity. if you read my post that wasn't directed at VeriCoin. I am here every day cheering on

We aren't going to release any more information at this time but I will tell you that we expect to get approval for our SMS Gateway app (the wallet) to go live very soon. Then we will open it to beta. I note the donation address hit 100k, but has had debits and credits and is currently -15k from 100k. Are the debits from staking? Any updates? Would be good to hear something official.

It looks like we did hit the requested bounty. Thanks guys. The wallet is staking and will be until we're going to do large scale tests. We will move it to an exchange and out to hide the new address of the ring node we are testing on (don't want any prying eyes). Then we will run tests and release a beta wallet. We were just testing our international gateways. We will launch in Beta in the USA first. Then we will move out. This will happen very soon. Just a reminder, we are looking to raise some VRC for our new dev: VDbSLcgkVZSeRQyK3YwMFzPaLHEXWgLHFi Please donate if you can. He holds almost nothing right now so this will provide him some incentive to work faster! :-p

Will there be a way to send anonymously (Verisend) via SMS?
http://www.reddit.com/r/vericoin/comments/27bwxt/vericoin_sms_wallet_in_testing/ - pnoskerVericoin Co-Creator Well I can generally say how it works: We interface with a TXT api service. In our case we're using Nexmo. We have a software layer that can both send and receive text messages using Nexmo's API. We interface using RPC with the VeriCoin wallet. We have secret sauce that does the translation and databasing. We will inevitably have some sort of fee, probably around $0.01 per message to pay the SMS costs as well as the txfee. For now, I'll cover it with some donation money.
- vivalite SMS is very insecure. With GSM Interceptor device I can intercept any message in my radius and/or mimic any phone # to send a message. permalink - pnoskerVericoin Co-Creator I completely agree. But it's the best some people can have (those with dumbphones and no computer for example). It's not designed to be a highly secure wallet.[/b] Hmmm that last comment can be negative as positive.... easy to use to less security.....

It sounds like if someone wanted to send anonymously when on the go, they should send to a one time address via SMS and then use Verisend to send to their main address.

Looks like the SMS wallet will work as a "simple" method of using coins with you do not have a fancy phone / computer. My main concern is, it is a good feature for a specific group, however how to use this in the real world. Have you ever tried using a Nokia, Iphone or Android to type over your wallet address....?

For people who have no other way of using crypto, it won't seem like such a big deal to enter the key. The point is that it is available to use which means much broader reach to unbanked peoples of the world of which there are billions. People who have smart phones aren't the target audience of such a technology.

People who have smart phones aren't the target audience of such a technology. Yes that sounds correct, however HOW to get involved into crypto's when you do not own a pc? Are they all going to keep their coins on their phone? So I do think it's a good innovation, I just don't think it will benefit many people, when you look at: - Why would people who are not into technical stuff (computers / smartphones) suddenly buy VeriCoins using a text message? - How would they be able to store " large" amounts, on their phone unencrypted? - Where to even use the coins in real life? - Can you backup the coins, what if your phone crashes? Don't get me wrong, I think every step forward for crypto's is good but seems this piece of software will be used when crypto's are there for the masses. Right now are a still in the adoption phase for many of us, when I try to explain my mom she will have money on here phone she is afraid to lose her phone / break it.
