POB?
Sounds interesting.
Is Slim listed on exchange already?
want to buy some.

Some whale is buying them all up to 0.01 each on bter.com

Guess he wants 20% or more hash power

what 's the meanning of burnning coin??  burn for what??   have burnt 28 coins ,but get nothing ?why

by burning coins, you are buying a portion of hashing PoB.
why you get nothing is because there are almost 23000 coins burnt already
your 28 coin is mere 0.1%. which means you have about 1 in 1000 chance of finding a block.

Oh crap
I have 80 coins so it is better for me to keep it and not burn

Probability for PoB is too small, I am not going to burn any coin.

Slimcoin client fixed for failure while loading the blkindex.dat file.

Update your wallets

Binaries are available here: https://github.com/slimcoin/slicmoin-executable
Source is available here: https://github.com/slimcoin/slimcoin

I updated my Mac wallet with this fix. Since the version number didn't change, the URL is the same: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b5irhas4xqvh2pb/Slimcoin-Qt-0.3.0.0-Mac.zip

I think this coin is some kind of Sunny King experiment.  Peercoin development slowed to a crawl, this coin is sourced from Peercoin instead of the usual sourcing of Novacoin forks.  I wonder when Sunny is going to come out of the closet.

Anyway, the original post needs to be updated with a lot more information.  People have said coin emission is non-linear and that it would be mined over 15 years with only 1 million being released in the first year?  Is this true or not?  Also, what is the stake interest rate?  Minimum stake age?  Max age?  etc.

ok, just one more question regarding burning. I have burned 15 coins so far which results in a slow chance of finding a PoB block. But, is every miner pointed to my wallet able to find this block? Or does the wallet itself try to find that PoB block? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I just don't get that yet ^^

So can you only sell Burned coins or can I sell my Unburned coins on the exchange?

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

THERE'S NO BURNED OR [NOT|UN]BURNED COINS

  • Slimcoin is only ONE coin. You burn coins to mine more coins, not to create another type of coin.
  • Burnt coins are gone forever. Stat!
  • Stop confusing shit! You can mine coins with either PoW or PoB... with PoW you spend electricity to find coins. With PoB you spend coins to find coins. Plain simple.

Let me rephrase my question.

I have coins in my Balance (I have not tried to burn). Can I sell these on the exchange in its current form?

also, can someone maybe link me a picture of a wallet with a PoB block found? is the icon different from a regular PoW block?
