Who wants to buy 1000 BTC worth of Clam for .0045 a pop? That seems to be what curious wants to get for them.

4x the market value? Well he messed that up didn't he? He could have drip sold a few at a high price, but he opted for the sell lots and crash the market idea instead. Dick.

Is there a summary available somewhere?  What is the digger doing and why?

Someone mentioned it in the Polobox the other day and I am merely curious.

Whoa!! You're curious?  HippieDick, get on this, right now!  This guy's name anagrams to "Jose Curious".  A clue!!!

FFS.  Do you think I haven't read the previous couple of pages?

So what was it exactly that caused you to break your 3+ month long silence ?

Did it bother you that I was trolling yet another scam that you and your chums are involved with ? (must be running low on socks Tongue )

Do you have a thing for coins that use a 100% centralized distribution model ? eg. Your last post on Aug 28 was in support of Skycoin (and it's 100% premine).

Please stop necroing your dormant accounts. NO ONE is believing you guys anymore..

There are 644,322 accounts on Bitcointalk. Of those, only 55 have the word "curious" or "curiosity" in them.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sa=search
You could say the odds that "SuperClam - creativecuriosity" (the dev) and "Curious" (the digger) do NOT know each other are around 11,700 to 1.
I'm not a statistics expert but that is (wait for it)..... curious.
I applaud them and thank them for devising, planning, hiding, carrying out, and revealing this conspiracy with timing that is both elegant and explosive.
The only way it could have been better is if they had revealed it on November 22.
I especially want to thank "curious" for not using a new user name when it came time to reveal.

Soo.. the digger is curious... SuperClams alt is creativecuriosity with its sig advertising a well known dice casino scam...
WHAT A FUCKLOAD OF COINCIDENCES !
Should we toss creativex into the ring !?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=36667
HippieDick makes Gleb look like the genius offspring of Sherlock Holmes and Albert Einstein

creativecuriosity is my personal and original BTTalk account.
Though, if you look at some of the posts in the beginning of the thread they were co-written by xploited and I.
garthkiser and possibly tryphe helped out here or there as well.

We were also involved in DigiByte.

None of this has been "confidential" or particularly guarded information....

The only reason the "dice" signature is still on the creativecuriosity account is because I have been too lazy to dig out an old laptop to grep the password for the account (as I haven't used it in some time).
When this came up, I checked the link, and it led to a gateway/landing advertising page - so, it wasn't a priority.

I don't know "curious" anymore than the rest of you; though we exchanged PM's shortly after he revealed himself.
When I reviewed his account, I noticed how long ago he registered here at BTTalk.

I don't think I was even aware of the crypto community when his account was created.

I'm not sure how you "prove" a negative, i.e. that I don't know, and am not, the user "curious".
If you ask nicely, maybe BTTalk mods would be willing to verify that we've never ever logged from the same IP address.
I give you permission to ask, and the moderators of BTTalk to verify this, if that makes you feel any better.

As for dooglus and I, you caught us.
We are indeed the same person.  /s

There are no "socks".

None of this information was "hidden".
Heck, we co-promoted a bit with Digibyte shortly after launch.

You are either following coincidences, choosing to troll the thread for your own amusement or a sock for BayAreaCoins.

What's the estimate time before the digger runs out of clams?

"curious", the Digger, has recently begun digging at at increased velocity.
I would expect it is "finished" quite soon.
Of course, there is no way to know how many wallets a user has, or even keys within a wallet.
We are working entirely from data on-chain and a perceived pattern of digs in the debug.log file.

Could someone post a working link to that file, or better than that post a link to a file containing all the whale digger's used addresses to date? If it's possible I would also like a list of all addresses the whale digger could potentially use in the future.

Download and sync the client.
Every time a distribution output is moved, a message is posted to the debug.log file on your computer.
It is quite simple to convert the address to it's tied BTC address(details are linked earlier in this thread).

Pull the "DIG" messages out of your debug.log file and then convert them to BTC.
If you see a pattern where there are multiple outputs from the same block claimed at the same time, you can "assume" they are "the digger".

What's the estimate time before the digger runs out of clams?

6 months. Unless he s got more addresses stashed somewhere. I can bet he ll sell his left nut to try to find/get/obrain/steal more. Ending digging is the only survival option.

This is incorrect, unless the rate of "digging" has changed.
"The digger" has dramatically increased the rate of digging since revealing his account "curious" on the forum here.
He has suggested he would post all of his CLAM for sale on Poloniex.
By looking at the order books, this appears to be an honest statement.

That said, there is no way to know if anyone has more addresses "stashed" away somewhere.
I would hope that there are a great many people, who soon discover CLAM, that have addressed "stashed" away.
The emphasis being on the "great many people".

In the past, when digs happen, it seems to positively effect the network.
The exception to that rule, of course, is this massive digger, who's claim represented hundreds of thousands of CLAM.

I would expect CLAM has one of, if not the, largest percentage actively staking of any Proof-Of-Stake network.
An interesting data-point, surely.

Pretty sure bustaclam will be adding stake/invest options soon.

A few centralized locations to stake is better than one, not optimal but it is a start. The more services clam has to offer the better!

I still would like to see more people staking with the wallets they own

Keep in mind its never a good idea to keep all you own in one location

OK, so when you create a new crypto coin, you need to decide how to distribute it.

Bitcoin decided to give it all to miners, 50 BTC per block for the first 4 years, then 25 BTC per block, and so on, halving every 4 blocks.

Some coins the developer pre-mines all the coins and sells them. That's generally considered scammy - the developer gets all the money.

CLAM decided to pre-mine all the coins and give them all away. 4.6 CLAMs were given to every BTC, LTC, and DOGE address that was funded on some date in May 2014.

Digging is the act of claiming those 4.6 CLAMs.

The thing we guys are arguing about is that it turns out that a single person ("curious") has a wallet with around 100,000 funded BTC addresses in it, and so is able to dig up around 500,000 free CLAMs from the initial distribution. The total CLAMs that already existed when he started was something like 800,000 and so his 500k represents a significant increase in the active money supply.

That's the top-level overview. Get it now?
