Been watching Hyper from afar for quite some time..... looks like a solid coin and I wanted to throw a little btc at it, but it has gotten a little pricey in recent days. What has sparked this current push upward?
There has been a lot of news and developments. Anonymous web wallet coming soon, Poker site launched, I'll have the official Whitepaper finished soon, source plugins coming for game server admins to integrate HYPER easily, twitter marketing and promotions ( http://twitter.com/hypercrypto), ads I run on Bitcoin networks, ongoing banner ads I have secured on gaming and bitcoin websites paid in HYPER with webmasters over the last week, over 10 game servers we already run, HYPER to be included in the http://casheer.net iPhone and Android App that was officially announced at Bitcoin Miami the other day. Probably all of that combined. I think some people have decided to accumulate a lot of HYPER over the last few days. HYPER was on Yahoo Finance today too but the article was published after the price increase: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-alternative-hyper-announces-anonymous-032000769.htmlMarkets will be markets I am more focused on the development and marketing. Thanks for your interest in HYPER and welcome! I've dipped my toes in the water..... hoping to completely dive in, if the price is right... In addition to everything you stated above, the long term chart on HYPER looks super nice! Steady growth since launch pretty much . Not to mention, a strong community and active development. You definitely have my attention now! Wish I'd taken a closer look sooner, but happy to be hodling a few.... and soon to be staking a few.... hopefully soon to be buying a few more Price still has a bit to drop... it's going through a correction atm after the manipulation. I think we'll be steady once we hit 0.00025.

Great tip sent! Nice line "welcome to HYPER the gaming, and now ecommerce, coin of the future" "welcome to HYPER the gaming, and now donation currency of the future" Hint: Video #3 on it's way. Baby sleeping on couch. Type A Influenza. The tips are helping pay for that $100 TamiFlu. (Yeah Right...I'm holding) Fuck the flu. But hey, at least I have some time to work on the coin. I'm done for the day after this last one. Gotta make Chicken and Bisquits for the family and quarantine the little one in the living room. Poor kid....103 fever. Have to take Friday off too...Momma gets to be home the next 2 days. Thanks for everything Hyper Community. I'll check in on everything soon. I'll get this last video up then it's Daddy Daycare time. Peace, Love, Hyper. I wish the speediest of recoveries to your child All the best, Adam

I think we'll be steady once we hit 0.00025. I wouldn't say it was manipulation. Just seemed a few people wanted to buy a lot of HYPER very fast. I'm 50% done with the official HYPER Whitepaper looking forward to releasing it soon. When the anonymous HYPER staking mobile accessible web wallet is released we will have another PR campaign for that too. I am also organizing and talking to people who are interested in a number of exciting and revolutionary HYPER projects behind the scenes, and I will have more announcements about these in the coming weeks Wiki has been updated with the new videos for merchants to accept HYPER, and how anyone can accept HYPER donations for their work: http://hypercrypto.com/wikiInfo about the Whitepaper: The HYPER Whitepaper I am working on will be like the Bitcoin Whitepaper and explain the reasoning and technology behind HYPER. It will explain why there is 5% monthly PoS interest for the next 4.5 years to reward early adopters, before HYPER shifts to 10% annual proof of stake interest for another five years, before settling at 2% annual proof of stake interest that is earned daily. There will also be a roadmap in the Whitepaper. For example we have developers working on source plugins for HYPER so game server admins can automatically integrate HYPER deposits and withdrawals into their game servers. This should help us reach over 100 online games and servers that integrate HYPER by the end of 2015. At the moment we have over 10 games and game servers that use HYPER: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.msg10024244#msg10024244 and http://hypercrypto.com and http://hypercrypto.com/wikiSome info and screenshots about the upcoming anonymous staking HYPER mobile accessible web wallet:

Would someone care to offer an explanation....... I've been downloading the blockchain for about ten hours now and I'm only about 22% complete ...... is this standard or is something not right? It seems when blocks are actually being downloaded, it goes quick, but I'm getting some major lag where my wallet is just at a stand still for long periods of time. My connection is pretty fast, as I had to download the BTC blockchain recently and it only took 4.5 to 5.5 hours or so. I have found that if I continuously open and close my wallet, it goes quicker, but I haven't the time to continue this process. Could anyone shed some light on this issue please? I understand some will most likely view this sort of post as FUD, but I assure you it's not. From my view so far, there's not much to dislike about HYPER (if anything), I just want to start staking as soon as possible Peace clovis

Do you mean the HYPER wallet? That is why we have a bootstrap Full instructions at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.msg9748799#msg9748799 If you are upgrading from the old wallet and want to keep your coins and your wallet.dat make sure to follow the instructions!Bootstrap and latest wallets available at: https://github.com/palmd/Hyper/releasesNew wallet also opens VERY fast now too it has had many, many improvements. There is also a super seednode up and hard coded into the wallet for MUCH faster syncing. The next update should make it 4-6 hours to sync from scratch but the bootstrap is really easy to use do just use that. EDIT: There are even customized gaming skinned HYPER wallet themes available for download at the above GitHub link. Feel like I am having to post this on every page I suppose I need to update the OP!

Thanks for the speedy response !! I really don't mind waiting..... in fact, I purposely chose the non-bootstrap Windows download because I was curious how long it would take to download 786k blocks. For educational purposes, I'm still curious as to why it takes so long. Can you offer an explanation? Also, looking to the future, will this cause issues for users as the blockchain continues to grow?

Does your wallet have the staking graph? Well 786K blocks is a lot of blocks! There is a reason I recommend the bootstrap Yes it will be further optimized in future wallet updates. Also the web wallet coming out will mean new HYPER users (like gamers who just want to use HYPER casually) will not have to download the blockchain at all I also have some long term plans to condense the blockchain further and have decentralized HYPER / gaming currency markets but I can't announce anything about that just yet

USE the bootstrap from: https://github.com/palmd/Hyper/releases Also please make sure you are using the source for the latest 1.5.3.1 wallet linked above. The older wallets are slower to sync that is why we have updated them and now have a 1.5.3.1 release. EDIT: Full bootstrap instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.msg9748799#msg9748799If anyone else is wondering USE THE BOOTSTRAP WHEN SYNCING THE WALLET THE FIRST TIME! If you decide not to that is your choice and is not recommended.

I'm not sure why the bootstrap is sent as a folder with multiple files in it. All that is needed for all OS's is just the block file like "blk0001.dat". In Linux, you can run it in the command line as the following: "./Hyperd -loadblock=<location of blk dat file>" where "<location of blk dat file>" is the location of the file such as "/home/blk0001.dat". If you are running QT, you can use ./Hyper-qt instead of ./Hyperd. The file is included in the bootstrap windows download. Hope that helps!

Hey! I have finally synced the wallet took only 30 hours with bootstrap instead of 100+! Thanks for the advice! That's great! Glad that I could help. You can also physically just move and replace the old blk0001.dat with the new one or bootstrap.dat in the folder that contains it. When you run the wallet, it should automatically detect the new block and parse it. In web wallet news, The alpha will be put on hold due to a number of bugs that were discovered. These will have to be fixed before the alpha is ready for further testing, and invitations will be sent to everyone who has expressed interest when it is ready. Please continue to be patient! It's coming!
