Add these nodes to your x11coin.conf file, restart XC client, then you will be fine.
Code:
addnode=115.28.133.246:32348
addnode=97.90.145.234:32348
addnode=63.226.209.17:32348
addnode=85.245.215.195:32348
addnode=82.66.94.250:32348
addnode=98.110.177.46:32348
addnode=96.237.67.30:32348
addnode=76.182.189.115:32348
addnode=78.90.224.219:32348
addnode=78.145.187.175:32348
addnode=37.187.144.69:32348
addnode=98.113.53.241:32348

TESTED!
all OK!
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Why does XC on divide to 6 decimals?

in util.h on github.
{
static const int64 COIN = 1000000;
static const int64 CENT = 10000;
}

COIN should be 100 million not 1 million.  This means that XC are only divisible to 6 decimals and not to 8 decimals.

You can't do much colored coin related things with only 6 decimals, not enough units.

pretty stupid. that means there are 400 times less XC units then bitcoin units. If this coin is ever going to take off, it should be
built from success from the ground up.

Turns out that the devs just forked mintcoin code (obvious from /contrib in the github source) and they didn't even bother to notice.

Another example of dev incompetence.

You guys just say this guy is trolling
But is his point true?
Any people can confirm?

I can answer this.  XC like 99% of all coins out there, successful or not, uses code from other sources.  In other words, the source is open.  Or, open source.  That means anyone can use it, with little in the way of limitation.

There is an excellent chance that the webpage you are reading right now, though it may contain original code, uses open JS libs such as node.js that are used by 88% of the sites on the internet.  Only morons write new code when it is freely available in code libs.  One big reason is code libs, such as the CPP STL, are optimized over the course of years by industry experts.  They are fast and efficient, and save developers time and cost.  In software, it's more important to be right than original.

The files in question on github were last updated seven days ago.  The XC project is a work in progress, and some of the updates are experimental, alpha, and/or beta.  Until the coloured coin or any other feature is in a stable release, it won't be considered "finished", and even then it will go into maintenance phase for a very long time.  That is how software development works.

As for these repeated attacks on the dev team over stupid things like this, so what?  It's the software industry writing reusable code.  That's what it is supposed to be doing.  Once XC is finished with their original code additions to XC, and the market share is secure, they will release the code to open source so that integrity42 can blame the next code reusers for reusing XC code that was permitted and encouraged to be reused.

Thanks nioccoin for the nice rebuttal ...

I have a question regarding the encrypted messaging...will that be the foundation for what will eventually be able to defeat Stingray?

Good job Dan and the whole XC team i know we have a brilliant future ahead

I cant wait for the new wallet, i managed to secure 200 XC´s so keep the option for running xnodes for less than 1000 coins as there are a lot of people like me that have been here since the beginning (POW phase) and dont have a lot of coins.

Maybe do it in a way that you can run a xnode starting at 100 coins and as you level up the trust of your xnode you can keep building up to 1000 coins wish should give more profit as you can handle more transactions.

Tks

Man I dont like that, I have almost 2k XC and I paid heavilly for them, right now you can get an Xnode for 1btc, in the future here shortly I think it will be 10Btc+ to get 1k XC for an Xnode, buy now or hurt.

This is the BEST directions I have found for running an XNODE even DEV instructions LACK, I believe he is just so literate he expects too much of the general public this early in Crypto.

v1.37 Windows Wallet

http://xc-official.com/release/wallets/

I will update user guides tomorrow morning, with the correct details

Also there are 3 core nodes - DNS seeding will be implemented shortly as well, the run-xc.bat batch also disables IRC via the "-irc" option, so make sure you have nodes listed in your X11Coin.conf if you use the batch file

IS THIS INFORMATION BELOW STILL THE BEST WAY TO IMPLEMENT, I BELIEVE IT IS, CORRECT IF WRONT ATCSECURE.

Here are the directions to create a batch file that will make a new data directory, a default configuration file and run the xnode with the new data directory and wallet.
One caveat, you can't run this on the same computer when another XC wallet is currently running becuase it uses the same ports.
But, this should make the xnode startup easier for some.
Copy/paste this into a new .bat file in the wallet directory and run it.

It is a modified version of the run-xc-node-mainnet.bat file.  Create a new file called something like xnode-new-wallet.bat and run it.

It will create a new data directory at AppData\Roaming\XC\xnode.  The current wallet release uses X11Coin for the data dir.  I hope this is changed in the future release.
It will check for an existing xnode.conf file and create it if not found.  The RCP username and password are generated as random numbers.  So if you want to change that just open the created file at AppData\Roaming\XC\xnode\xnode.conf and change it.
The last command starts the xnode using the new datadir containing the xnode wallet and xnode.conf
