Are these hashrates with your sgminer in your signature?
yes it is telling the server my hasrates so it can decide what algo's are profitable for me

I'm getting significantly lower hashrates on my 290x than you are, so I'm going to try the sgminer in your signature with the settings in your codebox. Are you on Windows? I'm Win 7 x64 with 14.4 drivers.

Thanks!

Using your config, changing only my BTC address, it crashes instantly. Hmmmm....

He has gpu-map which may not apply to you, and these two things

Code:
"gpu-engine": "750-1000",
"gpu-memdiff" : "300",

May not apply to your cards either.  As stated above, if you are on 14.6 or higher AMD drivers, you cannot aggressively overclock anymore; must specify your stock clocks.

14.6RC2 or 14.7RC will offer speed increases over 14.4 for X?? algorithms.

Correct.  14.6RC1/2 & 14.7RC have a performance-type increase with groestl, which is not inherent in 14.4

An alternative working configuration for 290X is

This is particularly for 2 Sapphire R9 290X 1000/1250 stock + 1 Sapphire Tri-X OC 1040/1300.

You must basically hard-code your gpu-engine to match your stock on 14.6RC1/2 & 14.7, auto-gpu does not work on these drivers and if you set something lower or above your rated stock clocks, the sgminer instance keeps trying to reset your GPU every 2 seconds to whatever you specify, but fails to ever do so.

Thanks for sharing that. I'll try the NH portion of your config and see if I can get it working. Are you using the version of sgminer available on NiceHash at https://nicehash.com/software/#sgminer? What are your hashrates and where are you telling the server what they are so it can decide which algorithm to change you to, or is there any need of that?

Thanks for your config and your help.

Yep yep, I grab the nightly builds every day that dude has 'em wrapped up.  There wasn't one for the 11th, but I'm on the 12th one right now on 14.7RC 7x64.

I get this usually.

scrypt: disabled
nscrypt: disabled
x11: 5.5
x13: 4.2
x15: 3.6
x14: 4
nist5: 16.5
qubit: disabled
keccak: 470
fresh: haven't tried yet

badman74 tones down his intensity's a bit, so may be why he's in my range but around 100Kh/s off.

I'm going to do exactly that, then. Really, man, thanks for your help.

Edit: Wow. Getting 4.2Mh on X13 now. Looks like the drivers made all the difference. I tested before and after the new 14.7RC1 drivers-deleted bin files. Wow. Thanks platinum4!

script and nscript are tthe ones that give me HW errors so if i ever go back to them i may set my clocks for them

cgwatcher does like the use of "profiles", so everything after your pools you should put into a separate file and then "include" that file into the pools config file

Really?  Since when?  1.3.9 and 1.4.0 explicitly deny profiles.conf

Post a working config please?

this does not work well either as cgminer does not see anything in that second file
it will have no information on your gpu-temp settings ant will likely throttle your intensity to nothing

To get cgwatcher working you need to make two files, like these.

profiles.conf:

Code:
{
"profiles" : [
        {
"name" : "x11",
"algorithm" : "darkcoin-mod",
"intensity" : "18",
"thread-concurrency" : "8193",
"gpu-engine" : "1100-1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500-1500",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"worksize" : "128"

To get cgwatcher working you need to make two files, like these.

profiles.conf:

Code:
{
"profiles" : [
        {
"name" : "x11",
"algorithm" : "darkcoin-mod",
"intensity" : "18",
"thread-concurrency" : "8193",

"gpu-memclock" : "1500-1500",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"worksize" : "128"
        },
        {
"name" : "x13",
"algorithm" : "marucoin-mod",
"intensity" : "20",
"thread-concurrency" : "8193",
"gpu-engine" : "1050-1050",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500-1500",

        },

at the very least you need to have
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"temp-overheat" : "85",
"temp-target" : "75",
before
"include" : "profiles.conf"
or cgwatcher will not work right as it will throttle your intensity because it doesn't know what temps you are looking for

Interesting, thanks for pointing it out. Grin

Both my rigs have been running seemingly problem free but I've changed that now so will see if it makes any difference...

i found this out because my rig runs at 88 for its operating temp and it was throttling my cards to nothing
i really need to buy some new heat sinks or something... they are really loud and run at max temp even on dark

Just wondering if anyone else is getting the following error while trying to mine on X13 on Sgminer V5:

"/tmp/OCL774T11.cl", line 930: error: identifier "mixtab2" is undefined
      FUGUE512_3((hash.h4[0x0]), (hash.h4[0x1]), (hash.h4[0x2]));
      ^

"/tmp/OCL774T11.cl", line 930: error: identifier "mixtab3" is undefined
      FUGUE512_3((hash.h4[0x0]), (hash.h4[0x1]), (hash.h4[0x2]));
      ^

"/tmp/OCL774T11.[09:45:37] Failed to init GPU thread 1, disabling device 1
[09:45:37] thread_prepare failed for thread 1Segmentation fault

This isn't priority because this is only on my linux miner running two 7850s using 14.6 currently and 13.12 in the past and I don't get this error on the other linux miner running two R9 270s, one R9 270x and one R9 280 using 14.6.

I compile the source all the time and the 7850 miner has never worked on V5 for X13, so I have to go to different Sgminer and compile that instead of multi-algo mining with same miner.

Just compiled today using version sgminer 4.2.2-280-g5bd2-dirty and same error.  Used both marucoin-mod and marucoin-modold just to be sure.

This occurs whether the config is X13 only or a multi-algo config.  With the multi-algo config it errors like this when I switch to the X13 pool.  I've used fully configured config down to barebones config with same results along with same config used on working sgminer with the exception of algo name change from X13mod to marucoin-mod.

Prior to error screen it says building binary marucoin-modPitcairngw12814big4.bin .  Also copied the bin from the working sgminer, renamed it and only difference is lack of "building" message.

Just let me know if I have to submit a bug error as I don't have a github account right now.

Thank you

The miner starts and silently shuts down after couple of seconds. When I start it with -T option it prints text below and shuts down after I press any key:

C:\Utils\Sgminer5>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

If I start it with "old-fashion" config file, without auto-switching options specified under the "pools" section, it works perfectly. What could it be? Thank you.

are you using the latest build?
this problem was solved recently i believe
has to do with not setting a TC (fixed a few days ago)
