I know pretty well how opensource works. I am an opersource programmer for 20 years now.
The code was initially based on sph but is now completely rewritten, so I can license it as I like. Or simply avoid publishing it.
Then keep it for yourself and enjoy a couple months of mining. Groestl and groestl-myr is on my list already and I will release it for free when it's done.

sgminer works with gpu's.... unless it registers as a gpu, sgminer would need to be modded to work with it i believe

End of the optimized kernel experiment! :-)
Everybody pushed for an opensource release and nobody made an offer.
I'm happy that it ended like this as I strongly belive in opensource.

just by applying the groestl improvements (some of them have been made public months ago) you get a boost ;-)

Code is very similar to sph ported... can you highlight some interesting differences?

if you are talking to me... try making a diff and you'll se that, apart from the constant table (which is taken from the groestl drafts), very few lines are equal.
seriously, if I was to find, remember and explain all the changes, it'd take days.

Nice, I'll do that. I'm working my way down from the top of X15.

From what I have seen, some improvements can be made, but don't expect miracles like in some single algo coins.

Some? I've gotten over 20% out of it - tested on 7850, 7950, 270X, 280X, 290, and 290X. I'm not even that far in, and that was mostly low-hanging fruit.

well on groestl I've been 2.5x

Is anyone capable of integrating these kenels into SG-Miner v5? These are heavily optimized compared to the current qubit kernel.

https://github.com/MaxDZ8/M8M/tree/master/M8M/kernels

Also if anyone needs a pool for a coin let me know and I can open one up. Just trying to help contribute to the mining community.

Curious is yours working, the most recent build? I just keep getting socket closed even if I run it as Administrator (Failed Send, Socket Reset)

I meant I got over 20% on X15 as a whole - not a single algorithm. Apples and moon rocks.

That's what I was saying :-)
