Someone trying to incite panic sells to buy low? For the record & sake of transparancy: Bitcometrader's donation of 10K has been transferred to Crayon, who'll take care of rewarding today's winner

Is MINERAL done? Tournament doesnt seem to have moved the needle as far as its trajectory. What's next?

Although I don't bet personally, the betting seemed to work fine yesterday. What is noticeable though is there are only hundreds and in some cases thousands of Minerals being bet with in total for a game. In order for the price to go up, it has to be in the hundreds of thousands that needs to be bet. Either thousands more people have to be drawn to the betting, or the current few that does bet need to bet thousands each and not just a few. Furthermore, the people that currently bet are probably betting from their existing holdings. In order for the price to go up, volume and demand have to go up. Existing or new people have to want to buy more Minerals than existing holders want to sell. The view and strategy of the dev team is to create the required demand through betting. This means that their plans will have to be focussed on getting thousands of new people to start betting and to get them to bet a lot. Currently it is mostly just existing holders that are betting that does not need to buy Minerals on the market. The current status is probably understandable because betting is in final user testing by the looks of things with the 1st tournament having been a final live test in Production. The dev team and community must now move out of 1st gear into 2nd and 3rd gear if they want to create the demand by this means. Real life services take time and does not happen overnight. It will also require a gigantic effort to turn the market around by this means and the community should see a turnaround happening by end of 2014 or Q1 2015. Unless there is another method (hint) to create demand that would turn the market around in 2 weeks while the betting services slowly builds and gains momentum towards the end of 2014.

Betting needs to stretch way beyond star-craft and doda. A relatively infinitesimal small group of people play these games let alone have even heard of them. Betting needs to expand to more house hold names like call of duty and the ps and xbox networks. . Sports as well.

Exactly and should form part of the strategy to increase demand.

The tournament went well I would say. Some of the games were great. Betting worked fine most of the time. At the beginning I had problems with automatic refreshing of the betting UI. Although everyone else was betting, I couldn't ( http://imgur.com/0WplH1R, http://imgur.com/nkZyWxB), needless to say I wasn't the only one who had this problem. Strangely it started to work after several manual refreshes and worked without problems until the end of the tournament. Second problem was that I bet in one of the mini rounds, my bet wasn't matched (0 MIN bet on the opposite side) and still the coins didn't return to my wallet. Regarding mini rounds I think they were too short, taking into account how many ppl participated in betting - it often happened, that there were unmatched bets. I wouldn't say, betting needs to stretch outside of SC2/DotA. But it definitely needs to stretch outside of Bitcointalk. As I said in one of my earlier posts, almost no one is using Minerals, only traders/miners and these ppl are not the main group of ppl Minerals should be focusing on. One of the highest priorities of the dev team should be attracting more SC2/DotA players, streamers, watchers. There're great reserves in that regard. I also think that the stream betting on bet.minerals.pro has far better potential then the tournaments. Btw. if you want new users to engage in betting during the relatively short event such as the tournament, you have to offer a wallet which doesn't have to download the whole blockchain on first start, like Electrum (electrum.org). Otherwise the initial sync will take forever.

Btw.#2 There are at least three different links to the Windows wallet. Would be nice to offer only one definitive link. Also consider hosting wallets directly on Github (via releases), downloads from Mega, Dropbox etc. don't look trustworthy at all.

The only thing I can think of is that someone must've expected Min to jump x10 or something, and when it didn't they changed to ride another train.
