got poolmining working at aeon.extremepool.org with my core i7, 6 core, aes-ni enabled machine. Gives me 200 hs/s with six threads and wolf cpu miner, 15 aeon in ~20 hour.

I have also a corei5 (four core), non-aes-ni machine, and I though I point it to the same pool. Used four threads on this one, and used wolf miner, compiled for non-aes-ni. However, this gives me nothing in five hours mining, although it looks like it is working. (Detects blocks, adjust pool diff etc) but I have not seen a single "accepted ... yay!!!). Why could this be? of course the machine is slow and old, but I though it should give me about 1/3 of what my corei7 gives (the i5 is clocked @ 3.8 ghz). Is it just to old to give anything useful, or why cold this be?

Another question to those of you who are experienced. Do Wolfs Minerd benefit from hyperthreading crytponight algo? My guess is not, but I thought I'd ask....

Thanks

I guess we need some final push to get on Polio.

How about making 100 votes today? I already voted but if you didn't go to
https://poloniex.com/voting and press that button.

We need a bigger exchange to get the ball rolling.

Don't use wolf's miner on non-aes machine. Get the one recommended by pool.

@aeon - Still the same story. Don't bother anymore, not worth the time looks like it isn't a viral issue.
Do you mind sending me your aeond log?

Can you check C:\Users\your_user_name\appdata\Roaming\aeon directory? Is it created? Does it contain any files?
Do you have any application running that may prevent writing to this location?

Use --data-dir option to point aeond to some other disk/folder to verify it's not restriction for default location that prevents it from loading blockchain.

You're right, it doesn't create a folder there. There are no applications that I can think of that would block that and I also have many other wallets there, including cryptonote wallets.

The --data-dir command also doesn't create a folder elsewhere. The program gets stuck at the same point (Can't load blockchain storage from file...)

Hi everybody,

I wanted to start discussion about future expected AEON pricing.
Code-wise AEON is same as Monero, it's scarce and you need 10 khs to produce 500-600 coins per day.
This means you spend serious amount on hw resources and power so in regards to that I'd expect price around 0.001 BTC maybe more.

Swaphole trading volume is small and I believe right now is the best time to buy AEON for ridiculously low prices. Can others share thoughts on price expectations when coin hits large exchanges?

I think your expectations are quite off. Have a look at QCN and BBR, both are well below .001 and use the same algo, crypto night. Moreover, both QCN and BBR are here way longer and have build a community of decent proportion. BBR for example made a GUI wallet and helped monero with several bugs. Now, I do own around 3000 ACN, so you could imagine I would love to see a price like that. However, I do not think its feasible until we really create added value to this coin.

One last remark, a shitload of coins have been mined so far. If this coin is to be listed on a bigger exchange like POLO, a lot of these coins will be dumped.

If you really mean this, then you should go to SWAPHOLE and by yourself as much ACN as you can when still price is low.
If , only if ths coin come to Poloniex ( and as I can see he is second now ) then I expect that price will go up first few days, and then will goes down below current price on SWAPHOLE: So maybe you can earn a few $ in meantime, but future of this coin is not promising ( but it is only my opinion) Smiley

i would tend to agree, massive dumping will happen. expected price to be around the 10k sat or lower for awhile yet. atleast you cant send large quantitys. so dumping will take some time.... might get lucky to see QCN prices for alittle bit.

That's interesting. BTW sending large quantities is no problem with the latest wallet as it has the split function.
I'd expect that coin that is exactly same as XMR will have similar price. It's not twisted and tweaked clone, I mean exactly same codebase. Same features (and bugs) but still massive power goes into XMR while this seems unnoticed. Personally I don't see any difference, same shitload of XMR was dumped and is still around but crazy diff won't allow to mine and dump more. Community around XMR is more active mostly due to hype. Devs may be active as they own serious stake in that coin and want to make money out of that, while AEON has no such motivation.

It's one of things with crypto I never understood. Make one clone (XMR) and people go crazy about it while they ignore the other (AEON). But it is the same thing. Well. only time will tell where this goes. Interesting is to see DSH that is complete copy of BCN and was published after few days of mining, so definitely not that fair as AEON. It comes with some hype, but I believe it is way more shitty than any other CN coin. I believe what counts now is support from Asia. AEON will make it on exchanges and is lacking nothing in comparison to XMR.

Anyway good luck miners, we're all hoping to see some nice prices on BTER and Polo. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

People move to mine DASH coin cryptonote http://dsh.extremepool.org

because of million coins mined a day. And blocks found just several thousands compared to the others cryptonote coins.
