I dont know why but encrypting messages when sending some Nems is not an option for me anymore. I cant activate the box


EDIT: forget about it, works again. Its been like 4 or 5 transactions that I wasnt able to encrypt messages 

FYI. You cannot encrypt if the recipient is first time using the wallet.

Hey guys,

Please give me the easiest explanation on how to run a beta wallet and get an address. I tried but I am confused. Is wallet a standalone download or a browser or what? I need to do this and send my NEMStake from the AE.

FYI. You cannot encrypt if the recipient is first time using the wallet.

I am aware of that, but that was not the problem. In that case you are able to activate or deactivate the box near Encrypt message in the sending transaction tab. If you encrypt the message and try to send the money you get this error box saying it is not possible.

In my case I just could not activate the box. Nothing happened when clicking it.

Some answers to questions that appeared on the last few pages:

1) Why my real account adress start with  NA***********，and i see the instruction adress start with NB
All real accounts addresses begin with a "N" the rest of the address will be different from the address seen in the instructions.
Also, every time you click on the menu item "create real account data" a new random key is generated. Don't expect it to be the same every time. Any key data generated this way is ok for claiming a stake.

2) I tried the option, ADD AN EXISTING ACCOUNT, paste the (real) private key, the account number generated was different! Is this supposed to happen?
Yes, that is normal and nothing to worry about. "Add existing account" derives an address for test network which is different from the address of the live network after launch.

3) What happens if those people don't ever send their NEMstake in? Are those just going to be counted as unclaimed stakes?
The time for claiming a real stake via sending the Nxt AE NEM stake to the published account is limited. Thus after this deadline the NEM stake on the asset exchange is worth nothing since it cannot be converted any more into a real stake. Such a stake is per definition unclaimed.

4) I've downloaded the new client, but cant get NCC to run any ideas?
In most cases you forgot to delete the nem folder before installing the beta client. This can lead to an unexpected shutdown of NCC. Stop the nem software, delete the nem folder and start the nem software again. That should work.

5) Last question; How much time I've got to claim my NEMstake @NXT AE? Deadline?
At least a few weeks, the exact deadline hasn't been fixed yet.

6) I use the standalone version without default data-path. No possibility to create a real address. What to do?
Start NIS AND NCC standalone version on you local computer. Open a browser and navigate to http://127.0.0.1:8989/ncc/web/index.html . Create a wallet and log into the wallet. Then you can create the real account data with the menu command "create real account data".

Is there a timeline for an exchange adoption those of us that can't/won't download the client?

There is - never.
We came up with this approach to get as many testers as possible. You have to generate your key with the client.

I've created three real data accounts with the NCC. With the first two accounts, the password was rejected on the first attempt to get back in despite it being copy and pasted.

I created a third account last night which did accept the password after repeated logging out and logging in attempts. This morning it rejected the exact same password.

I don't want coins sent to an address I can't access. What's going on?

the total number will never be above 4b. if everyone claims their stake it will be four billion and nothing will be added to development fund. if some people claim their nem after launch they will get 750000 nem and the remaining 250000 from each "late claimed stake" will be put towards development so the total cap does not change.

go to "asset exchange" > "my assets" > click "transfer asset" next to nemstake > then include a message that contains ONLY your nem address that you created with the beta client using the "create real account data" feature > click "transfer". do not encrypt the message..

send only your nem address in the message, no other text what so ever and DO NOT ENCRYPT.

Dear devs & NEM community:

Has anyone been able to successfully compile the NCC source using maven (no eclipse)?  Could anyone show me how to include nemcore JAR file correctly in the pom.xml file?

I did something like this (pretty sure this is not the way to do it):

But ended up getting an error like this: [ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.mojo:webstart-maven-plugin:1.0-beta-6:jnlp (default) on project nem-client-api: didn't find artifact with main class: org.nem.core.deploy.CommonStarter. Did you specify it?

I'm new to JAVA & maven (I'm mostly a C/C++ coder), but would really like to get into NEM coding.  Could anyone show me how to get the errors fixed?

Okay, I understand this is a really stupid question for most of you...

But could anyone tell me how to include/specify nem.core dependency in the pom.xml correctly, so my NEM client can be successfully built? 

I was just playing with MAVEN (first time user), and do not have eclipse installed. 

For starter, I'd like to get the NEM client successfully built without any error. I'm just playing around to see if I can create a customized, personal version of NEM client. 

Any help will be much appreciated. 

PS: Like I said, I'm a C/C++ only coder and new to JAVA. Thanks for ur patience.

Hi guys, finally got beta working. I deleted old NEM folder in download folder.........but not at     ...name./ user/nem....    main file..           silly laddie...
