question from a noob on this coin to others who've been more closely following it:
could anyone summarise what's special about it?

were basic aspects ready at launch - wallet, blockexplorer, website, whitepaper and/or features, etc. - or is the [ANN] promise-heavy?
have the devs delivered on their promises?
Any hidden problems -
premines?
instamines?
well distributed? is there a rich list?
buggy code?
are these are hard core programmers, not "copy-paste" devs or middlemen? When bugs/fork challenge pop up, are they fixed quickly?
dev squabbles?
dev complacency?
missed deadlines?
Is the entirte dev team anonymous -- and even if so, does it at least have a solid reputation here on bitcointalk?
How does the coin production/distribution setup provide insulation from the risk of massive miner/whale dumps? Is there an estimate out there of the max # of daily BTC trading volume that might be needed to absorb mined coins?
Anything to worry about?

When is the next significant development update (code, screenshots and/or whitepaper/proof-of-concept or something else?) expected to come out?
-you can answer the 1st question by reading the thread,
-There have been no problems
-premine is in the announcement
-there wasnt any instamine due to the difficulty retargeting algorithm
-no issue with the code
-I am the main developer and I can code.. i am not anonymous and I have a good rep here.. i think that answers a few of your questions
-The amount of mined coins stay fairly steady due to the difficulty retargeting algorithm... its not easy to mine alot.. just doesn't happen.

Really appreciate the response - many thanks - and appreciate any other independent opinions on the questions above.

Will this pump continue through the night or will I wake up to a dump?

That should be obvious. This thing just went up 10x in 8 hours...Dump

I'm sure it will settle down that's a hell of a jump.  But i expect to see more jumps..its how it goes.  There's no dump.. i'm not going to dump.

This just got started. Don't be surprised to see the market go up and down for awhile. Days.. weeks...
Will be some huge swings here and there. Some creatures need to feed and some need to sell. All natural.

It's nice and raw right now with light buy walls but still lots of demand. I like it when there are no big buy
walls because it lets the market breathe while it's still new. If I put any buy walls myself I might pull them at any time
if I need more coins cheap Smiley!

You probably won't see 400 satoshi again though Smiley

this coin is going to go wild tomorrow. there are over 33k members on bittrex assuming say 50% of them use the application, that would mean 16.5k members would need to have 100 coins each. so 1.65million coins we only have currently 1.1million, demand will be strong. unlike ruby coin our app is free and the 100 coins they buy can be traded back again. this is gonna go mental supply is going to be restricted big time, as its free to use people will definitely take a try

I'll confess I bought the 30k coins that pumped the price up and I didn't dump. I'm not dumb, can imagine bittrex users will be fiending for this app, people routinely pay 1 btc or more alone for something like this, it's a good investment.

I also like the fact you have to keep the coins to keep using the app so it discourages dumping, I'll be curious to know how many coins it will take to unlock the advanced features.

Also a Star Trek reference doesn't hurt either  Grin

I believe it will take 100 coins to unlock and use the trader,
but more coins to use advanced features, maybe a sliding
scale up to 1000 coins.
