It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Currently i am working on the new autotrade functions you are all waiting for.  The main one im coding now is one that monitors the top 5 listings in each book (buy, sell orders) constantly and when the top listings change.. will place an ask/bid order of an amount you choose above and below the latest listings. You will be able to also choose how much higher or lower these bids/asks will be (in satoshis) as well as only do it if there is a spread greater than a value you choose.  you can even choose to only place 1 or the other if not both. I like this one!  Just this alone will be one of the most powerful options the trader has.
Also, I plan to have some safetys avail if you want them.  Like cutoff values you choose for your balances.. values that, if reached, will shutdown all auto trades. Such a thing would be perfect for learning.. you can set these values  only slightly below your balances value so you don't loose coin or btc if you make a mistake as you acquaint yourself with how this all works.
Alerts are another consideration for the new builds.

So imagine that!

I think it would be a good idea to require different amounts of  Qautloo to unlock tiers of functionality.
And cudos! I'm buying this coin like mad. If you need help with development just make a bounty and I will see if I can help.

So far the program work great. I want to see tiered functionality become a thing
Something like

100 QTL unlocks the program
1000 QTL unlocks the charting software
2000 QTL unlocks special order types
10000 QTL unlocks autotrading

I am pretty sure that there is no other system like this and the rate I code, I doubt anybody will be able to catchup Smiley
So, I plan to make InstantDEX the most powerful automated trading platform in the decentralized arena

James

I resonate with Jame's vision of providing a lot of power and flexibility for non-coders to auto trade... it's what I want very much.

I think his project aims to operate on a decentralized exchange platform (NXT), not bittrex and such, though I just skimmed the thread, so I could be wrong about that, but even so it seems it will be a while before we have anything functional to actually begin using:

...Due to magnitude of this, maybe tradebots go on hold for a bit.

Charts, trade history, depth columns, full screen and other basic features mentioned by others are sorely needed more than auto trade features IMO... you could make the crappy interface at bittrex website obsolete very easily just with these, and that would go a long way toward increasing popularity.

As it is, I don't use quatloo trader for trades regularly because it lacks these basic features, and it's necessary to examine the charts and trade history at bittrex itself still (which is a painful ordeal).... but if QTL trader had these basics covered, I would vastly prefer it instead.

I suggest not setting the bar too high with tiered payments and such... a low bar will be more profitable ultimately because more people will be interested in using it if they don't have to take the risk of holding a bunch of QTL, which is likely to be very volatile... especially as value increases. Try to strike the right balance there.

The numbers I suggested are just place holders. But yea I definitely wouldn't want to see it too expensive. I'm glad there is an arms race to build better trading tools.

It's a good idea, and I think there is an argument for making advanced autotrading features more expensive (require more holdings rather), if nothing else so that that effectiveness is not diluted, but 10,000 might be a bit much, especially if it gets popular.

You and me both! Keeps incentive strong for rapid development Smiley

I imagine eventually there will be an open source trading platform offering advanced features and supporting multiple exchanges, but I also imagine it could be a while before we see anything like that. I hope QTL trader can fill in the gap nicely until (if/when) that comes along.

You guys do realize this is a hard coin to mine with 17 block rewards,
currently there has been 362k coins mined in its one month life.
So no, 10,000 coins will never be needed to unlock QTL trader features.
More likely 1,000 coins.  People should be buying coins at this low
price or mining them before difficulty skyrockets.  If only about 1000
coins are being mined per day, this will be one valuable coin. And even
powerful asics coming out will not change the fact that only about 1000
can be mined/day, it will just be mostly mined by those who have asics
in the future.  If you want any chance at mining some QTL with GPUs,
you'd better start now.

P.S. For everyone that worried about the small .8% pre-mine used to
get a pool, exchange, promotion, and trading tool going, what the dev
has left is less than what one month of mining will produce, and he is
buying coins, not selling.  Every month will produce about 360,000 coins
and dilute what little is left of the pre-mine naturally, that is why the
dev and team are buying on any dips.

people not worried about the app. coin is very good its just the premine. people just do not like them. here we have a huge amount

I'm holding my coins so I can use the app. I see strong potential for a fully developed and useful application here. I'm only holding enough to use the app so a pre-mine dump or what the market does for any reason isn't that important to me.

Just save me from having to use the bittrex interface, please... and I don't care about price.

That being said, it seems very likely to me that sub 10k sat is a great buy for this coin at the moment, good to hold as long as development and activity remains strong.

If development and activity lags, before the app is developed to a highly useful and interesting state, then price could dip pretty low I would think. If the project is abandoned, then price will crash. Current valuation is speculative, (not yet driven by app-wanters like me so much) and speculators get impatient very quickly.

Worry about pre-mine dumping is a knee-jerk fear reaction that doesn't consider the bigger picture IMO. I mean even if you just assume the dev is holding a large amount of coins, and could crash the price, the likelihood is that it's more profitable to garner interest by creating a great app. So far we have every evidence of ability and intention. Any big sell off would logically come later when there are a lot of people who want to use this application and that interest level will then support the price anyway. If the project stalls out and/or dies for any reason then price will crash regardless of premine dumping or no.

I think future valuation of QTL hinges entirely on quality and pace of development of the trader application, and its resulting popularity. I would keep my eye on that ball as the main indicator if I were putting money into this coin.
