Does anyone have a chart with the voltage / frequency settings for underclocking and overclocking the S3? I'm interesting in getting a better J/Gh ratio with a stable underclock.

Thanks. This is really helpful. Just remember that the voltage settings in an S3+ do not change anything, only the frequency. So although you can increase and decrease the Hash rate it has very little effect on the J/GH. To improve the J/GH you need to "physically" adjust the Core Voltage using the pencil Mod or soldering a resistor across or in replacement of the VDD to VFB resistor. Rich

Rich I'm curious are s3 and s3+ with different vrm? And do you have actual part numbers for those resistors that need to be modified.Pic where those resistors are would be nice.I tried to search that info but didn't find.I still think I have seen it somewhere. Thanks man. It's pretty easy job for me 'cause I repair laptops and similar stuff for living.I have all the equipment needed and have a lot of experience replacing same resistors of S1's. -Riku

Good that you have the correct equipment, it's easy to mess up. I am still experimenting to find the best values and have connected 8 Digital Pots controlled by an Arduino to one of the Hash boards to make adjustment possible without powering down. I did the soldering leaving the Hash Board in situ but it's probably best to remove them for better access, particularly the resistors at each end. Rich

Those are all in the Miner Configuration - Advanced Settings tab in my updated version https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS3Besides having those voltage settings in the gui, the update also makes your machine run more efficiently, update today!

As I said earlier the voltage setting does not change the voltage, you need to change the values in the voltage divider on the TPS53355 DC-DC converter chip to actually change the Core Voltage. Rich

How does the update make the machine run more efficiently? https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/blob/master/AntS3/README#L73Their version hits the chip for results about 60,000 times a second, 60k is the approximate limit based on as fast as it possibly can load on the CPU ... My version, about 1000 times a second. More than often enough, and a much reduced CPU load so that other important things get more available CPU, as mentioned in the README. It's a tiny CPU, they clearly never had the slightest idea of what was using up all the CPU. Edit: oh also there's another CPU reduction in all cgminer drivers -ck and I have done where we handle the stratum work more efficiently.

So by lowering the CPU load you get: "few if any delays getting and processing work" from README This translates into less stale shares? A slightly higher hashrate? Less power draw?

I didn't test it just watched it but yea from what i saw to all the above .to some not enough but most like it and it gave me a reason to keep my S3 going and go buy some used ones and am looking for some S3 ++ at a nice price til we know for sure what bitmain is up to .

Will do. I just updated one S3 and left the other 'stock' with both mining on the Kano pool. I'll let them run for a few days and check to see if there is any difference.

I updated one of my S3, quick and easy, just follow the read me First thing I notice is Extra nonces command for Nicehash is not supported. sha256.usa.nicehash.com:3334#xnsub It is a minus for me For the plus side I tested mining on Antpool. Got a nice improvement. I got 550GH-580GH average after 20-30min of mining. Gain of 50GH or 10-15% at 250Mhz Nice job. Any plan to support extra-nonce command ? Edit : Waiting pool stats to confirm numbers
