Logo's don't need to contain letters!

They may not need to contain letters, but there is nothing stating that they can't contain letters.
There are TONS of logos out there with letters that look damn sexy.

Sure there are TONS of them. Still personally I think symbols are stronger.
ofcourse you could combine it.

Edit:Also the logo above is quite good with the D but it just looks to much like Dash logo.

Well I am kind of paying homage to Dash as we do use Masternodes, InstantX and Darksend, its a respect sort of thing I suppose.

100% agree but wouldn't it be good to incorporate a design that gets the overall message across in one go?

I think a symbol is much stronger.

http://zoom.nl/foto/macro/rups-bonte-bessenvlinder.1451871.html?object=user&object_id=79165

for example put it on the sun with dark elements

Just try to bring up ideas and combine things.

Im all for a symbol here too but this doesnt mean that the writing "drkslk" cant be stylised into a logo of its own if you know what i mean.

Can anyone here help me out with a short term loan of 6 BTC or the equivalent in Silk? I will pay it back with 21 days for a profit of 12 BTC.
I have nothing to secure this with other than my good name since my cousin took my car over some stuff that happened last time.
I have a new business idea which involves huge profits for everyone involved and I need the cash to get it off the ground.
None of it will be spent on meth this time for sure.

One person in the Sterlingcoin community isn't happy about the switch up in the team for Donationcoin and Sterlingcoin because of me moving over to being the DarkSilk Lead Developer. Anyway, I posted this in the Sterlingcoin thread:

Quote
Donationcoin was created prior to Sterlingcoin, however you didn't care that I was lead developer of both.

The reason for DarkSilk; the Silkcoin community asked me to help fix Silkcoin and to launch DarkSilk (DarkSilk is a project I have been working on in the background for 4 months) because they had been screwed by their developer, exchanges, bad press etc and they wanted a good, public and honest developer to come to their aid, I obliged.

So at this point I was then Lead Developer of 3 coins which simply cannot be.

I made Steven Saxton the Lead Developer and controller of the Donationcoin GitHub and instamine as he made the first ever Donationcoin faucet and is an honest and public developer/person. I then made Matthew Langdon the Lead Developer of Sterlingcoin as he had built every system for Sterlingcoin except the wallet.

This then left me as the Lead Developer of DarkSilk. For the record, I am not the Lead Developer of Silkcoin and the GitHub is controlled by the Silkcoin community.

So now Donationcoin still has 3 team members, the same 3 but a simple shift of leadership.

Sterlingcoin has 3 team members, the same 3 but again just a shift of leadership.

Hope this clears that up a bit and shows no one has "deserted" anyone.

EDIT: Also you can in fact see that I work for multiple companies and projects such as Donationcoin, Sterlingcoin, DarkSilk, Moodcrawler, Trollcoin, Silkcoin, PeacebyTrade, Aerosoul Ltd, Brighton & Hove Audio Council and website design.

In my opinion a symbol is best suited having a symbolic meaning.

By using symbols and withholding the use of words you can stack multiple layers of meaning on one 'object'.
Words make explicit, while symbols imply and capture imagination.

I like the idea of reserving the Scorpion for regular Silk (Silk, Desert Heat, Scorpion ). Leaving room for something else for DRKSLK perhaps a phoenix/thunderbird (Stung/Burned & transformed by the scorpions sting). The rising(burning) phoenix gains knowledge of the fabric of time/space/code akin to a Silk Weave through metamorphosis.

We have to take into consideration two coins, Silk & Drkslk. In defence, given the whole silk story this direction seems almost self-evident.

You and toth are really classing up the joint^

Just adding to the discussion, but yeah i did go over the top a bit  Roll Eyes

But it seems to have worked, didn't you immediately associated with toth/mysticism?
What is readily available has infinite depth, we can use it to boost creativity instead of reinventing the wheel.
Symbols & meaning or fantasy, they make people wonder!

edit: I toned down on the imagery in my previous post.

2. All systems will be built and ready for zero hour
3. Mining pools will be made ready with just wallets to be installed, again ready for zero hour
4. Exchanges will be notified and markets arranged

How long will it be after launch when the weaver will be operational?

I believe it will be possible to swap our SILK for DRKSLK is this correct?

Zero Hour: The time immediately following the Question Hour has come to be known as "Zero Hour". It starts at around 12 noon (hence the name) and members can, with prior notice to the Speaker, raise issues of importance during this time.
