This is really cool.  Needs a lot larger user base.   Just wondering how the connect p2p works in regards to attack vector.   Seems messages are sent via gps?? And then sent out through whatever users might have net connected.   Def an interesting idea

So I guess.. theoretically.. payments could be sent via gps too.  Piggy backing through to one person with a net connection... be no way to tell where each payment originated from

To stop them from dumping, just buy up the tree and don't leave buys sitting there. Smiley

Did you Know?

Reducing Orphans when Staking can maximize Compounding Interest?

When minting, to reduce occurrence of Orphans, i.e. "?" blocks & wallet bloat, please

MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER TIME IS ACCURATE

In Windows simply,

1) click clock/date/time bottom right
2) click change date time settings
3) Click Internet Time Tab
4) Click change settings
5) Make sure box Synchronize with internet is checked
6) and click Update now
7) Time should be correct, and more SILK for you!

Ubuntu / Nix terminal
Code:
sudo ntpdate ntp.ubuntu.com

This space intentionally left blank

Good call, I actually didn't realize that.

well.... mintpal consolidated accounts into one.  withdrew around 500k and then suddenly a big 500k dump on bittrex.

not that much of a concern for us.. but also noticed they've done this (consolidated) to nearly every coin on the server.. check the richlists of everyone's coins..

Many accounts are missing all their balances including all the history of their trades.. the majority of them all the coins that were sitting unused.

The good chunk of silkcoins that were consolidated were coins dating back to the freeze in june...

this exchange has gotten dangerous and tough to say what it will do to other altcoins if the possibility they are dumping everyones missing balances on other exchanges..

http://www.coindesk.com/mintpal-relaunch-problems/

I would also agree to delist.. or perhaps that quote comes from this thread lol i dunno..  but of course i still haven't been able to withdraw my tester silk along with leagues of other deposits and withdrawls in limbo.. so contacting them regarding delisting would be a worthless attempt.

One thing that none of us as crypto folk need is another Mt. Gox... Especially a Mt. Gox of altcoins.

and quick easy recovery. -9.9 now.

Have removed mintpal from the ann.  And will have it removed from silkcoin.io as well.

Please withdraw your silk from that exchange until for certain all the fiasco is over.

If that's even possible.

Take a look at all of mintpals major trades in the last 24 hours... looking very obscure and a lot of massive dumps...

requested gliss to keep us removed from coinmarketcap in regards to mintpal until the storm is over.

Lol I think the damage was already done though.  Mintpal leaves a bad taste now.  They should have explained why and what they were doing with all the coins.  Terrible communication is a huge fail and they should know better.  They are completely dead to me.

CORRECTION:
Actually, my good man, SILK is NOT dying.   Ooooohhhh nooo nooo nooo.  SILK is merely in it's cocoon phase.  Some patience is required during this static period, but there will soon be movement and noise.  And, after a little struggle there will emerge a beautiful new creature.  Be patient, Laddy.  Once it spreads its wings and takes flight, its entirely new world.
