Isn't offline investment technically the same as offering kelly risk level investment?

Like say I invest 1 CLAM at JD with 100x offsite which is the same is investing 1 CLAM at 50x kelly risk?

Nah, it's very different.

Let's imagine you have 10 BTC that you want to invest, and want to do so at a full kelly (the ideal). But you also want to minimize your counterparty risk, so you'll want to deposit as little as possible on the site.

With offsite, what you'd do is deposit 1 BTC and specify 9 BTC offsite. With leveraged investments, you'd deposit 1 BTC at a 10x kelly. Assuming a 1% house edge, in both cases you'd be risking 0.1 BTC a bet ... which is exactly what you want (a full kelly). So perfect.

Now, lets say your investment does well and you make 2 BTC profit.

With offsite investment you'd have 3 BTC + your 9 BTC offsite, and would be risking 0.12 BTC ... which is exactly what you want (A full kelly). With leveraged investments you'd have 3 BTC + your 9 BTC offsite, but would risking 0.33 BTC ... which way too much (to the point of landing you in negative expected growth territory).

And the exact opposite happens when your investment loses money, the leveraged investment you'd start to risk too little and would be under-utilizing your money.

Right.

The difference is that with Just-Dice's "offsite" feature, your offsite amount stays constant at whatever you declared it to be, but with leverage your imagined "offsite" amount is a fixed multiple of your onsite amount.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

type bust 500k into the chat box you will see the multiplier has gone past 1 million X before,
im to lazy to log on and check what the max ever hit before was but im pretty sure it was over 10 million, but i might be completely wrong though....

You can check with:

Quote
11:42 Ryan: !bust max
11:42 Shiba: Seen 10.69M in #814474. 1044513 games ago (295d 12h)

So yeah, 10.69 million is the highest it's been so far (almost a year ago)

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Site's been a bit slow with no huge winners in the last couple days, but at least this went to a pretty cool guy:

There's some serious chat-server issues at the moment, due to a widespread service-provider partial-outage. This will likely continue for a few more hours, but the actual games, deposits and withdrawals should be unaffected.

Yeah I saw this one too when he bet. He is pretty lucky on each multiply, may be there is more guy like this one like almighty, I dont know which strategy did he used but seems when I seldom saw that with big base he is losing, mostly winning  Grin

The legendary whitetuxpeng is back playing hard, if anyone wants a show. (Back in the early days, he won so much that he put BaB in a total of a >30 BTC negative profit hole and needed outside investment to stay afloat).

(BTW he started this session at -88 or so, so he's actually up by about 20)

Ryan isn't a scammer, he's just a misguided soul with poor values judgement/cultural environment management skills who wants to impose his preferred universal "be nice (-because I personally don't like fighting/arguing anyway ;p)" feminism-emasculated politically-correct glass-ego-shielding stance to everyone around him, somehow can't fathom that, when low-self-esteem children obviously get riled up due to being called out on their ignorant wrongdoing & attitutes, they're going to gang up on me because their feelings were 'hurt' by a stranger on the internet, and people like Ryan choose to reinforce such low self-esteem dispositions, by opting to mute the longest-established value-adding players & sucking up to this type of subhuman detritus, rather than the other way around :

..I find that decision repulsive, Ryan's value system seems grossly abhorrent, I'm appalled at his choice to side w/ & protect the most egregiously reprehensible back-alley-mentality scum, his carelessly entrusting a dubious character such as Snailman/Candy not only site funds & 'mod' status (for a while) but worst - actually allowing/encouraging him to represent the site on a site community specifically dedicated to scamming, hacking & theft then refusing to at least chat-filter/limit/stem the flow of HF dudebros coming to pollute BaB with odious uncultured boorish ignorant nonsense without even betting (most of them) is beyond irresponsible and has directly led to this type of garbage invading the chat nowadays^, his continuous wretched shilly cheering (obvious self-interested reasons, distasteful & unprofessional nonetheless) of any whale doing risky plays as pathetic, so I left.

BaB used to be a great place, the site I spent the most time on ever, I cared deeply about this community, it wasn't bad b4 HF- and/or low-life dudebro's came in, I gave out loans, got paid back by most, poured my time away to help so many at every occasion, had others even tip me in gratitude & tipped others myself such as Dexon for his awesome work on DexonBot which enabled one of my contributions -> the BaB Chat PvP Game, and this is the sad, shallow consideration Ryan has for someone like me, probably because I've never attained several grand of net worth to be able to start doing large bet volume.. Thoroughly disappointing 9_9

Invest in the future ; Doesn't have to be Bitcoin.
