I have 7th and pay 0.064 and the BTC price is getting fairly close to where power cost will eat half my mining profit

I know, the current mining situation is not great. I thought BTC would be significantly higher in price right now, and definitely didn't think the price of BTC would go down significantly while difficulty keeps going up significantly. At some point soon, the difficulty has to level out unless the price of BTC goes way up, doesn't it?

I thought BTC would be significantly higher in price right now, and definitely didn't think the price of BTC would go down significantly while difficulty keeps going up significantly. At some point soon, the difficulty has to level out unless the price of BTC goes way up, doesn't it? at a $400 BTC, I imagine the cheapest farms cost about 8c/kwh (all costs considered) and will be hitting the ceiling for 2w/GH right now, and very soon the ceiing for profitably running 1w/GH gear. industrial power can be found for $0.03-0.06 USD/kwh in various areas of the world. Pair that with locations having very low rental costs (rural) and negligible internet costs and a barebones staff. with winter coming though, we could see a slight resurgence of small-scale miners heating thier homes or mining in places where they dont pay for electricity. I personally will be relocating a lot of my equipment from a small office building (i am colocating in a corner for free, just paying electricity/cooling) to the basements of myself and a few family members so that the heat produced serves a utility and saves me money by saving gas heating bills or replacing existing space heaters.

Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

New to mining. Wanted to put a couple S3's in an enclosure for the office. Corsair Carbide Air 540 white case (plenty of ventilation holes in the case) The black version of this case is available at Micro Center for $120 - $20 MIR = $100. With 2 ProlimaTech Ultra Sleek Vortex 14 fans with 120mm fan grills and adding 3 ProlimaTech Ultra Sleek Vortex 12 white fans to case, (cheaper alternative is the Scythe Slip Stream SY1212SL12H 2000 rpm 120mm Slim Case Fan) with 3 120mm fan grills. Thortech Thunderbold Plus 1200w Gold power supply fits in the case and has the 5.25 display NZXT Sentry 3 fan controller Scythe ITA Kaze fan with Evercool Twister Fan Speed Controller PCI Slot Put these feet on the side http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3ONV4A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and these inside of them http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IMSIBA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to give room for the power supply fan ventilation. Anyone else do something like this? I've also got another set up using a Enermax Fulmo GT case almost ready (with the Netgear 5 port switch in the front) also for the office and I ordered a Corsair Carbide Air 240 black case to see if 2 will fit in the smaller case (I suspect they will but the side door will not be on and the S3's will be upright (no 5.25 bays on the smaller case) but with a EVGA 1300w G2 power supply it's not needed (this smaller MicroATX case looks like it'll fit any power supply, even the Corsair 1500w Titanium power supply), for the home.

@IITravel01 yeah, I did something similar in March. Two S1's, also in a Corsair case - although a C70 case. Fan holes in the S1 matches fan guard on top of the case.

Thanks for posting the pics. Nice to see others with similar set-ups. Here's the other system I've got ready for 2 more S3's. Both systems could fit 3 S3's each with a tight fit (which I was initially going to do but I would have to remove the fans on the door, actually I was hoping to fit 4 in this case notice the NetGear 5 point switch installed, but found that the hard drive rack is riveted into the case and that was too much modding for me), but you'd have to remove some fans from the case to do it.

The cost of the Corsair box plus the miner cost and ongoing electricity costs ... do you think you will see ROI? The S3 has a good airflow built-in, does the Corsair enclosure compete/improve that? CFM would have to be the same, unless the unit exhausts quicker than the S3 fans.

Thought mining was for enjoyment also? Have to put it into an enclosure so employees and cleaning crew don't get curious and mess with it (as well as for fan noise). Don't want S3's out in the open in the office with cables, power supply and miners in the open. My electrical is included in my rent at my office suite, so profit is more likely since that can be the biggest factor, but since the drop in BTC lately maybe not... I'm more worried about temps as the office building air conditioning goes off at 6pm and isn't on on weekends. Still, I'll enjoy learning about doing it (but wish I got into it 6 months ago when I first started thinking about doing it).

Figured Id put up some pics, since well.. I can! http://ocau.com/pix/waxncProspero X-1 on the left, Antminer S1 on the right, 10x Gridseed Orbs on an RPi running Minera arranged in the tower down below. ROI? Ha! Not likely Then why do it? Cause I will kick myself if the price per BTC goes up and I dont have any.. its not always about right now! Powerboard on the desk gives a wattage reading, S1 pulls 400w doing 196Gh/s, X-1 pulls 100w running 110Gh/s. Gridseed tower pulls 100w in Scrypt only, doing 3.6Mh/s, or a whopping 600w in dual mode, for a total 60GH/s and 2.9MH/s Total figures right now, pulling 1100W +/- 10w including the Access Point that hooks them back to my network over 802.11ac, and the Cordless Phone extender (top right)
