2-3 click mining of UTC

the UTC wallet used to have a "mining" tab - I assume this was going to enable "simple" mining?

Is there any value in proving a simple all in one miner for UTC? - it could very useful in enabling mass participation in UTC.

The program just adjusts mining settings to your computer - and links up to your wallet - and then just starts mining to your address through the pool (the pool can be set to point at our preferred UTC pool).

One exists on Github - Its staggering - very simple - called SIMPLICITY.

Here is an example developed by aceoyame - just download, set wallet preference - and run to start mining.  After wasting days trying to set up miners for various different coins I was just blown away to see this mining package work - and across 4 different algos!  I fully expected it to be something full of bugs and only to work on a few MS OS - but no - it's the real deal. The download takes longer than setup!

https://github.com/aceoyame/Simplicity-MYR

http://myriadplatform.org/simplicity/

sorry about references here to another coin but its unavoidable to explain properly without examples/source - but I think the idea is worthwhile to consider for UTC and perhaps build on (thats what open source is all about)

I would be keen on somebody looking at this for UTC as I think it would be a very good selling point to the crypto-literate who have not managed to cross the threshold to mining any coin.  This could be a key demographic in newcomers to UTC and we could get 1000's of micro miners spreading the hashrate and supporting the UTC pools.

@usukan, the UTC wallet still has a "mining" tab, though I've never used it.

With respect to a simple mining solution, did you know that GuiMiner Scrypt version 5.5 supports vertcoin. Maybe somebody could update it to support UTC as well. I heard that GuiMiner can be slower, but it's a lot easier for newb to set up. No .bat required, for example. A lot of people do not like/ are afraid of, the command line.

@usukan, I don't really understand what you mean. Tab on wallet works (I think it is a CPU miner though). Guiminer Scrypt is a GPU miner. They both work.

@primouno, please could you tell me what hashrate I should be getting for a 7950? Ballpark, I never mined UTC before but these seem (to me) like very low numbers.
Hey, sorry for such a late response but I was out. I really don't know what hashrates exactly you could expect for HD7950 but it should be roughly the same what R9 280 do.

@Qxw
Can you share your settings for 750ti? I can reach only 2.2 khs (Win 8.1 64 bit)  Angry

I know we are all looking forward to 'Hashers United' and its a lot of work going into it by the management team which we all appreciate, but is there any development going on at present?. Also at I am staking even though I don't have the 'stake' box ticked? Is this a fault with the wallet?

My 750ti setings are

cudaminer -s 10 --algo=scrypt-jane:UTC -H 2 -i 0 -m 2 -l t25x4 -L 4 -b 16384 -o stratum+tcp://stratum.tumblingblock.com:5555

Gives me 3-3.2khs with +130/+150 overclock

Anyone got any settings for the 970 yet?

Has anyone considered that the big media push that is scheduled for tomorow is going to get lost in the nubit/ppc hype?

Just a thought.

Sorry - more explanation - if you tried out the SIMPLICITY program I quoted a little earlier - you would see what I mean about "simple".  You enter no mining details at all - the only choice is to choose algo - with UTC you would not even need that.

I really hope this new development group can change the wallet. Its all about wallets and what they can do. Think out the box and change the way the wallet looks. Why do all crypto wallets look the same? It would be great if they came up with a completely new idea like a paypal or neteller 'look' type of wallet. It would really make UTC a $1 coin.
This is very ambitious but could be approach Alibaba, escrow, Neteller, Paypal etc etc about a partnership?. We are the fastest crypto so have the best chance of mainstream adoption (in my opinion).

Hello Pugman,

As far as developments, here is what I can tell you:

- Recently, we have had an overhaul of the pool's to make everything much more efficient, this has lead to less orphans and faster wallet synchronization as well as network had equalization. Plus the new multi-pool multi.tumblingblock.com, as well as the addition of two new pools, and more on the way. This is greatly important for network health, security, and good care taking of Ultracoin. Kracko and Thiago have been instrumental in this role, Kracko has shown outstanding professionalism and we should all thank him for his work thus far with Ultracoin.

- We also have development planned for an Android, iOS and Windows wallet. The problem with Scrypt-ChaCha is that it hard to code into a wallet, but our developer is looking into it and more details will be released once we can get the ball rolling, so stay tuned.

- The Ultracoin business directory site is 95% complete and once it is released will be a HUGE asset for gaining acceptance. In combination with the upcoming Ultracoin wallets and coinpayments this will give huge incentive for companies to accept Ultracoin, be a large part of our acceptance campaign, and make accepting Ultracoin a breeze. Speaking of acceptance, there are a few businesses that are going to start accepting Ultracoin that you will really want to SPEND your Ultracoin on, so stay tuned.

- b3da is working on an Ultracoin paper wallet that will be used for tips, which will allow you to tip waiters/waitresses, doormen, etc with Ultracoin and includes instructions on how to load and unload the UTC. This is an easy, fun and effective way to spread awareness of Ultracoin. b3da is also developing images, graphics, wallpaper, etc for Ultracoin and will all be included in a UTC marketing pack that will able to download on the website along with acceptance images, t-shirt files and marketing material files for anyone that wants to replicate them.

- There is 100,000+ UTC in development funds available for UTC, I will be heavily advertising this to developers at Hashers United and on the web for any developments we need, especially a Java Script developer for the MInecraft plugin.

@Pugman

Send me an e-mail describing the error and I will forward it to the management team to review with the wallet developer.

Sincerely,

Steven "Rapture"
PR & Marketing Director
