The update to 1:02 worked well. Nice that you have to back up any files.

I raise even plots, soon I'm at 25TB. Smiley

Ok, I was one of the first miner but now.. I cannot compete!!  Cheesy

Wait until someone in China get's hold of this. They'll probably use a server farm with peta/exa-bytes, that would suck....

BTC is in the process of bottoming.

As altcoin market is a proxy of the BTC market, we can expect altcoin to rise as soon as BTC will start increasing in value.

As much as I would like to trade my BURST in a proper exchange. maybe it is not a bad idea to wait a bit more before listing it.

Just a thought.

I had 3 drives with separate plots (500GB each) and was getting nothing for nearly 4 days. Then I did a JBOD and made one big plot of 1.5TB. Now I found 2 blocks in 3 days, 2 within 24 hours and still generating the plot(40% complete). Maybe luck or maybe the mining does favor one large plot, just speculation.

+1, 1.5TB have not found a block for two days Cheesy, with more and more people buys large hdd, difficulty raise fast, but i think it is not bad, because it will raise the cost mining this coin, when my 1.5TB can mine < 1000 burst a month, it must be because it is on the fly Grin wish i can see that day

That's the trend for the past couple of years. It happen once or twice a year.

I know this is off topic, but damn, Cloakcoin is tanking. Super cheap coins though...lol

So I understand that Burst is mineable solely with hard drive space. So is it better to get a very large traditional 7200 RPM drive or is it better to get an SSD? Does using an external drive (USB 2.0 or Firewire) affect performance? Can the drive be hooked up to a low performance laptop?

SSD doesn't make that much of a difference, unless your trying to save power. It's the interface that counts, USB3.0, eSata, Sata or similar/faster interface.

To make the plots quicker, suggest to have a decently powerful cpu and enough system ram.

Should show in the miner or in the browser interface for the wallet. Yup, update before block 2700.

I'm mining also with my laptop! After generating plot, doesn't matter if it's a low performance laptop.. You need only HDD space! I've found 5 blocks so far with my laptop and its 571 GB plot! On my home pc i'm using also USB HDD and I've found 45 blocks so far!

Wow, 45 blocks on how much HDD space on that external drive?

There are some good BURST tradings at BURST Gateway & decentralized Asset Exchange: https://nxtblocks.info/#section/assets_exchange/market/251006016744564741

and a few low sell orders:

Quote
Open Sell Orders
Account                        Quantity   Price   Total
NXT-XEMC-9UCK-3ZLY-9VNWY       1   60   60
NXT-MERP-BYYC-XEDZ-DGUX8   1.92   95   182.4
NXT-LKHJ-8DGS-HMBE-AL3N5      10   99   990

The price starts from 0.00406 BTC/1000BURST !

Buy them while they're cheap!

The price will skyrocket when this innovative coin hit the centralized exchanges!
