Hey fellow Magi guys and gals. Long time lurker here - I've finally registered  Grin

Spexx I wanted to ask, where did you get that screenshot? Up to now I've pretty much just been mining and selling my XMG but might start staking properly now... in the past on a few hundred XMG I'd only see fractions of an XMG every few days  Huh

Hi there and welcome to this Magical community.

That screenshot comes from https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!extraction

A few hundred XMG does not carry a lot of weight, even when staked efficiently, so you will need a fair bit more XMG to start seeing more regular POS payouts.

You need something in the region of 20K XMG to get about 1 XMG per day from staking. When you have that much staking correctly, the constant notifications about incoming transactions become a nuisance Wink

I guess it's time for a POS campaign, magi111?
Does anyone knows what's the size of the pos block?
Does your cpu have any kind of influence on the pos block or the staking reward?
(looking at the figures it should not)
And spexx, why is your staking going extremely up and down?

Good idea the Frisian! I will take a look at some options for that! (PoS-II campaign)

My staking is relatively constant, but the rate at which I am mining POS blocks is variable, so the short-term stats go up and down in short periods of time. I might be lucky one hour, then not so lucky the next hour.

I've noticed there aren't (with the exception of http://magi.steep.rocks/) any XMG faucets.. how come?

How much work would it be to set up my own faucet? Are there any off-the-shelf solutions like those that exist for bitcoin and other cryptocoins?

There are 3 actually, check the end of my article i have a list of them.
http://thdim.istothesis.com/mining-your-first-coin/

But your question is actually very interesting, i would like to know as well how someone can build a faucet in xmg and if there is a ready solution for that.

Hi,

The proof-of-work mining is much more difficult than the proof-of-stake mining.

You need some good hashing power with the program minerd.exe to earn some XMG from proof-of-work mining.

The hashing power for proof-of-stake mining comes from the XMG wallet when opened for staking and does not need to do much work to mine a proof-of-stake block.

A proof-of-stake block is worth a lot less than a proof-of-work block.

There is symmetry for you Cheesy

and thank you Spexx, i have also redirected my little hash rate to your mentioned pool.

I noticed you Wink

Despite that lowish hashrate, you mined a block yesterday. Nice!

Yes and hurrah for that! So much negative publicity about this exchange recently and a string of outages too. One has to wonder about their ability to survive.

Not bad. You should get around 0.25 XMG per day when staked correctly Smiley
