Hey guys, sorry for being off-topic again but I couldn't manage to get a respond and I am kinda desperatly looking for an answer in the web for over a week now.

Which script uses the magi multipool (the one that payout with magi to miners, using nicehash)?

Hi,

i know very well this coprocessor and it work well.

But i wanna only understand one think:

Why?

Why a cpucoin mined with coprocessor that teorically give you the oppurtunity to reach 5mh/s with 1 card?

It's  a cpu coin, not other.

If the idea of m7m xmg cpucoin is to be asic and gpu resistant maybe GPU and other similar is not the good route to take.

But maybe i'm wrong.

Sorry for the interrupt.

I enjoy an occasional interrupt Cheesy

You have a point there but when you look at it, those co-processor cards are just a large number of 386-type CPUs built into a 3D matrix on chip with some fast memory nearby, so you would still be CPU mining in a sense. It is much the same with GPU cards as well. There may (or may not) be some energy efficiency advantage to be had as well.

The trick I suppose is to de-tune the mining software so that it does not use all the processors at once, flooding the blockchain with 5 Mh/s and reducing the block rewards to dust. Mining XMG should be done with a bit of finesse, not brute force. As long as it is kept under control, I don't see a problem.

hi spex,

agree with you about the "design and model like 386" etc, but i've more than one of these cards, also some of the new one in beta test and actually maybe not the best buy for mine.

It consume lot of power (better than xeon proc, but continue to be a lot of power) and also really expensive.

Also need to be considered the "air flow" needed to stay on a regular temperature.

These cards can be used for a lot of things with big success, but i think mine coin whit this card is the last one.

Maybe for experiment and temporary flooding the net with a lot of power with result of low block reward.

Regards

Very interresting coin with a lot of innovations and really good Team.
But when we look at amount of trades it looks quite weak.
As a result it's hard to issue an opinion about XMG.

Do you mean the amount traded on the exchanges? I noticed that it was really very quiet trading XMG just recently. It isn't always like that. One might also interpret that as a sign of strength, not weakness. It depends on your point of view I suppose.

Do you want to see more trading? Sell some to me then, or buy some from me ... just don't expect a bargain price either way Cheesy

I think some shrewd people might be holding rather than trading right now Wink

Nice image there. More like that please. I still have some slots available in the Windows Miner Benchmark utility.
Would be awesome if there was a Magi logo in some pictures! Like the dragon! Wink

Hi.
You can go here https://bittrex.com/ and sort the table by 'VOLUME BTC' and that way you can see what I mean. And Bittrex is main XMG exchange.

btw: Maybe its time for XMG to apply here?: https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203692234--Draft-What-is-a-Verified-Market-

btw2: Respect for Spexx Smiley

Good morning, you can download the file bootstrap.dat? if you might indicate where? Thanks in advance.

Here you go paolo77!

Here is a little something that might help people out when setting up a new XMG wallet. You know how annoying it is when you set up a new wallet on a new machine and it takes hours upon hours to synchronize?

You need a blockchain snapshot. I will be providing a fresh blockchain snapshot every few days on the following links:-

For Linux and Windows etc where you have an unzipping utility
Zip file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vda52xjkgk8wxsq/snapshot.zip

For Windows where you do not have an unzipping utility
Self-extracting Exe: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0vbezqzwgrsa49z/snapshot.exe
This extracts the files to the user %TEMP% folder for you.

These files [blk*.dat] are about 300 Mb (zipped) at the moment and can take some time to download.

All you have to do is copy the unzipped files to the working folder - on Windows this is %appdata%\Magi -  then start the wallet application and it should synchronize within minutes.

You need about 1.3 Gb of free disk space with the current size of the blockchain. This requirement will increase over time. The snapshot download is currently about 300 Mb, the temporary extracted files take up about 500 Mb and the final copy in the working folder takes up another 500 Mb. You can delete the original download file and the temporary extracted files after copying to the working folder so you can reclaim about 800 Mb afterwards.

Hope this helps Smiley

Thanks for your nice words xinwao and welcome in our Magical Magi community!
Magi likes it when (new) people are visiting our main thread. It's good to talk open and good comments are always nice. But also the critical comments are very welcome. That way we can explain or learn something about that.
I agree with the respons from Spexx about the trading.
But I also would like to point out something else.
Magi started last year with a very small team.
More and more work came along with the steady grow and awesome developments/campaigns.

At this moment I can hardly keep up with updating all different types of social media and forums.
Next to all awesome campaigns I just need more hours in a day to keep all things up to date and focus more on marketing and other campaigns.

What i'am trying to say is: Magi has grow to big and need to expand the Magi marketing-team.
So if somebody would like to join contact me pm or here!
Thanks for reading.

That is very interesting! It should have worked anyway - it works the way it is for Windows and Linux. I was going to try building a bootstrap.dat but did not have the time yesterday - just too many distractions and a little too much hedonism on my part over the last two days perhaps Cheesy

When I have done that and got it working for Windows (testing it right now), would you be willing to give it a try on the Pi for me?
