Thanks for your quick answer! I will read a lot more Sites here on BTC Forum. This is my first expirience with a CPU Coin.

I am not sure if there are many other CPU-only coins out there any more, which is a bit sad imho. This one has a unique algorithm and a unique block reward system which takes some time to understand how it works, so it is worth reading-up as much as you can.

Since we are talking about mining i think it's the correct time to share an article that i wrote, intended to help the new users. The article is written having in mind the absolute newcomers and only them, you can have it somewhere in your bookmarks and share it every time someone new is asking for instructions about mining or introduce them in XMG in general.

(English native speakers, please let me know if something is completely wrong)

Awesome guide made by thdim, to help real new people starting in Crypto! Magi (XMG) Wink

Welcome in our Magical Magi community sLp!
Yes you can mine at night! About the decent hashrate. Yes i think you will have that.
Try mining! Otherwise i think Spexx or other members can give you better details about the results with your equipment. Wink

This question came up before several months ago.

Unfortunately those cards are co-processors and are seen by the operating system as peripheral devices (like GPUs), not CPUs. You would need mining software adapted and compiled for those co-processors and I am pretty sure that nobody has done that yet with the M7M algorithm.

Sorry Sad

I can have a look and give you an opinion at least. I know that current compiler support is very poor so I am not sure what they have done to address that. I will post back here after I have done some research.

As you all know Magi has some different donation walletaddresses for the different campaigns.
The fund Magi uses is always coming from donations. From small donations to huge donations like the donation for the Proof of Interest.
Because Magi has no premine and no ipo iám not asking for donations but i will give people the option to donate if they like to do that. Wink
Magi has a new donation address what will be used for new developments or other promotions

I found rumors about a drop-in CPU replacement version of the Xeon Phi, but did not find anything official regarding release dates, technical specs, hardware or OS compatibility etc. Could be a very interesting chip, although likely to be priced outside my range lol.

Modifying code to run on Xeon Phi is supposed to be a lot easier than adapting it for GPU. Sounds like a challenge to me, but I do not have the resources to play with, nor indeed the time available right now.
