I've made a Linux script to implement Sweet Spot block targetting,
since the buldozers come, f**k up the block reward and go.
Any comments and ideas are welcomed.

Superb work. We have been needing something like that for a long time.

Would you be able to bring cpulimit and SpeedFan together to make a Linux version of TempMax too?

Sadly, no.
The reason is that there is no SpeedFan for Linux.

The commandline alternatives (lm-sensors, pwmconfig and fancontrol) that I tested are too tricky to detect cpu fan speed, cpu temperature
and reliably to set and control fan speeds to diffrent kinds of MOBO/CPU combos.

For example, I've managed to monitor the cpu temp and fans on ASUS M4A79 Deluxe/AMD Phenom II X4 940 combo,
but never was able to set fanspeed via fancontrol.
On my Intel i7 MOBO/CPU I can't detect cpu temp with lm-sensors, but with i7z I have succeeded.

Maybe your idea to port TempMax on Linux can be done, but not by me...  Cry

Thanks for giving it some thought anyway. It was difficult enough just getting the CPU temperature reliably under Windows. I made no attempt at fan speed control and only used SpeedFan because it provided the function I needed. It doesn't support older CPUs anyway because they just don't have the sensors onboard.

You would have thought that CPU temperature could be obtained with a one-line command, but sadly that is not the case.

I just got a notification from DropBox that my download links have been temporarily suspended.

This was almost certainly due to somebody attempting to download the XMG blockchain snapshot file(s) repeatedly today.

I have cleared the download suspension, which I was able to do only because it was a "first offence", but obviously I cannot trust people not to over-use the facility so I have removed the snapshot files and the published links will no longer work.

That is a real shame. DropBox provides a daily limit of 20 GB which ought to be enough seeing as the snapshot files are only 300 MB each. There is always somebody to mess things up though Sad

There will be a snapshot download facility available in the new software I have coming up, but I will not be making the links public again.

Why does somebody need to download it repeatedly?

Why does somebody need to download it repeatedly?

My thought exactly. It would take over 66 downloads to trigger a ban. This incident has wasted a considerable amount of my time and I am not happy. As if I had not had enough distractions recently, this is another setback to my software development effort that I could do without. Whoever did it, I don't want to know.

Yes it could be that, but I doubt it. Most people would give up after a few tries and failures, or spend hours upon hours getting nowhere - it would be quicker to just let a new wallet sync up normally.

The download routine that I have built into my new software suite uses wget.exe, which deals with network glitches by reconnecting and downloading from where it left off. It does not generate extra network traffic by restarting from the beginning. I have also engineered it so that it cannot be run directly by the user but will only run in very specific circumstances when needed. This should help prevent any abuse in future.

I hope that helps against such (attacks) I keep my wallet synced even with my Slow Connection by having it opened nearly all the time Smiley

Why do we need this piece in the space?

1. FREE
As an appreciation to members who are fonder of Coin Magi, we present free charge to utilize the MagiPay service, despite you sell $1 or $1,000 goods.
- Merchants: no extra charge at all
- Customers: responsible for the trivial mining fee

2. Customize
MagiPay is uniquely designed for Coin Magi, independent of any other payment gateways. Custom requests will be sent to tailoring MagiPay functions.

3. Instant & Secure
No payments are held by our server. Funds are available to merchants upon 6 confirmations.

Schematic of MagiPay integration

Guide: https://www.m-epays.com/merchant_guide

1. Registration & create MagiPay box

Notice the callback URL has to be corresponding to the location of the file "magipay.callback.php" in the server (see below).

2. Magipay integration
1) Download merchant files: https://github.com/magipay/merchant, then place them in your server
2) Revise db_connect.php and magipay.keys.php (for details see https://www.m-epays.com/merchant_guide)
3) Run magipay.createtable.php through browser, example

4) Revise the following file to enable MagiPay pay option in online shop:
Notice the action upon receiving payment as highlighted.

3. Online purchase example
1) Checkout

2) Pay through Coin Magi wallet

3) Payment received

4) Payment transfered to local merchant's wallet

1. What else?
I'd say the current form of the MagiPay is basic. It enables one to create Coin Magi payment option and accept payment. It works but we should have more than that to do.

2. Plugins
User friendly plugins is a must. WooCommerce is one of important ones we're targeting at. To community members, please offer us plugins if you are able to do.

3. What do I do to integrate MagiPay in my online shop site?
Please follow the guide and be sure to ask us for help to set up MagiPay. Try out the example here by following the guide:  https://github.com/magipay/shop-example.

Make your site be notable in MagiWorld, as well as obtain XMG by selling items in addition to mining!

Enjoy The Magi!

I see the bulldozers are at it again on Maxminers. It is maddening isn't it? Block rewards have crashed yet again and my SweetSpot limiter has kicked in. Mining ruined for the next 6 to 8 hours. A sad and sorry state of affairs.

If you use that pool, I recommend that you stop doing so and write to them explaining why. Show your support for some of the other pools and don't forget about our newest pool Cloud2b where you can also be a part of our Proof-of-Mining campaign.

https://xmg.cloud2b.de/

You know it makes sense Wink
