My wallet synchronizaton isn't working - opened the wallet about an hour ago and the number of 'Blocks remaining' shown at the bottom of the wallet is going up. The wallet indicates there are 2 active connections to the network. Current number of 'Blocks remaining' is shown as 999. Downloaded 458314 of 459313 of transaction history (99.78% done). Last received block was generated 5 hours ago. Another thing: according to the explorer the current block is 459371, not 459313 as shown on my wallet. I was wondering if the failure to synchronize has anything to do with the clocks having gone back an hour today (from British Summer Time to GMT), however my PC clock adjusted automatically and is showing the correct time - any ideas what else it could be causing the problem? Thanks for any help.

Just checked again and wallet synchronization still stuck at Block 458314.
Is this a problem which the developer will be sorting out or is it down to the individual account holders affected and if so what do we need to do?
Thanks.

I've now resynced 4 clients all been fine, maybe worth deleting peers.dat and restarting the wallet.

I've now resynced 4 clients all been fine, maybe worth deleting peers.dat and restarting the wallet. Yes I tried that and could not get any connections at all after 20mins so I have replaced the old peers.dat and waiting to see what happens.

Thanks for your reply. How do I access peers.dat? Do I need to do a back up of the wallet before deleting peers.dat and restarting the wallet? I've been making regular updates of the wallet.dat file so presumably if deleting peers.dat doesn't work then I could reinstall the Bitstar program and start again – though I would in that case need help as to how to proceed so that, using my wallet.dat file back up, I recovered my existing wallet and its Bitstar balance.

Just go to %appdata%/bitstar and delete peers.dat, that contains all ips your client as seen. resetting should start you from our master seed nodes.

OK, deleted peers.dat and restarted the wallet but same result as before: still stuck at block 458314 and not synching - after about 15 or 20 minutes the wallet stopped connecting to the network. What can I do next to get the wallet synching? Thanks.

I have been syncing a brand new wallet for the past 3+ hours ish, I am about half way through, when I am done I will put my wallet.dat file in to see what happens.
It will probably be tomorrow by the time it finishes because it is very slow, and seems to be getting slower.
I have restarted it 3 time because it speeds up for a little while after shutting down but then goes back to slowdown.
I will keep you posted on results.

I installed a new wallet and re-synced it, because the old wallet stopped working on the 26-10-14 and would not sync up this was after 12 midnight when the clocks went back with British summer time change. I copied my wallet.dat file into the new wallet and when I opened it there are 827 coins missing, no out bound transactions but there are 11 mined transactions from the 26th which is the date when the wallet stopped working all these 11 mined transactions are orphaned. So can somebody please tell me what is going on here? I switched wallets to the old one and opened it up, when it opened up it would not sync up which I expected because that was why I installed a new wallet in the first place. When it opened up it now says that there are 832 coins in stake but there are 11 mined transactions staking according to it but when I count up the amount staking they only come 1.4 something. All of the coins that where in my wallet came from mining the multipool on this site http://multipool.bitstarcoin.com/ and totaled 960+ and some minted coins that where only about 3 or 4. Can somebody please explain what might be going on here? I have a few screen shots showing some of this madness. Help please.

Edit - dollux, go to Help/Debug/Console type repairwallet if you see a balance mismatch after a full resynch.

You could do a full resynch which will work. -Go to appdata/roaming and back up your wallet.dat & Bitstar.conf file (if you have a conf file) delete everything else. -Download bootstrap here - http://www.bitstarcoin.com/bootstrap.dat-Drag and drop bootstrap.dat into your appdata/roaming/Bitstar folder -Launch wallet - expect about 4 hours to synch -After synch your bootstrap.dat will be renamed as bootstrap.dat.old which you can safely delete to get back drive space.

Thanks OK, I'll delete the following Database .lock blk0001.dat blkindex.dat db.log debug.log peers.dat And leave in place the wallet.dat file which I'll also back up into a separate location - presumably in case anything goes wrong with the resync and I have to start again There is no conf file. Should there be? My wallet version is v1.2.0.0-adgr Thanks for your help.

Still cannot replicate this problem on any of the test wallets in any OS, but please try the following: download http://www.bitstarcoin.com/bootstrap.datbackup close wallet go to %appdata%/bitstar delete peers.dat (optional for full resync- delete blk* and database folder) put bootstrap.dat into this folder restart wallet

There is the possibility that one exchange is affected as well. I just sent a withdraw from Crypto-Trade.com and nothing after 1 hour. Edit- Ticket submitted / problem solved

However, once the 'importing bootstrap blockchain data file' process had completed, the wallet was still stuck at block 458314 and after some 60 minutes running it's still not synching - instead the number of 'blocks remaining' has increased to 3628: Subject to any further advice, I'll try again, this time going for a full resync by deleting the blk* file and database folder along with the peers.dat file. btw, my os is windows 7, professional.
