If there isn't much intrest for this new project it will only mean that ones participate to burn bits will receive great marketshare cheaply. Unless there comes rival for certain percentage of marketcap. Looking forward to see how things progress. I most welcome these kind of ideas. Bits has very special place on my heart and on my wallet.

I think most that are in Bitstar for this long believe you will be successful in the long run.  I think they believe in you guys.  I don't see where keeping info from loyal holders creates interest or value or good will after this long following your team.

Firstly, it sounds like I need to remind you that my company is not the dev for Bitstarcoin or the new coin. We have no obligation to holders, loyal or otherwise and, secondly, given the number of wallets which were reported as needing serious synchronization after being offline for so long, many long-term holders have not even been helping the coin network function through staking. As for creating value, that is an artificial notion without actual economic use for a coin network. There are enough cryptocurrency projects already busy hyping their supposed future value in order to raise their present market price. This creates speculative bubbles which burst, usually leaving many people suffering large losses.

Why not work to make at least one side of the speculation a more sure bet so that the other doesn't seem such a tough decision?

Because this isn't being done to appease speculators. It is being done as a novel way to ensure fair distribution of a new coin while creating enough of a vested interest that it will hopefully encourage sufficient numbers of staking wallets to be left running and, therefore, create a strong and reliable PoS network.

By the way, the number of new coins being issued does not in any way dictate the market value of the total. It dictates the value of each token, sure, but not the market cap. So there is nothing gained by knowing the number of coins being distributed if the share you will receive is a proportional allocation of the total issued.

I know that I've worked hard to acquire the BITS I have, and have been a strong supporter of the coin since very early days. So it's hard for me to part with them easily - yet I'm intrigued. I think you'll find that those who do invest are definitely incentivized to run the PoS wallet for the new coin, because they value their BITS so much. We're a small but very loyal community.

I found out BITS a year ago. I was intrigued because it's one of supernet's core coins and acquired around 0.5BTC as I expected things to happen. Unfortunately I have not seen any progress during that year.  Other supernet coins showed a lot of progress during that year, attracted buyers, have new features etc, and what I am still having here is a wallet which malfunctions and takes ages to sync like last year. If I don't see any progress by the end of April it won't be that hard for me to sell every single BIT even cheaper than what I bought.

That's wrong: opal is dead for many months now, many pp sold everything, and dev seem to have died too Sad

That's true ;-)

By saying "other coins" I didn't mean all.
I don't know about all of them but VRC, BTCD and VPN made a lot of progress, attracted buyers attention etc.
Even Gavin Andresen (bitcoin developer) has shown interest in Iguana project of BTCD team

VPN has drown huge attention twice within 10 months. (I bought at 71 satoshi and sold at 900, the price went up to 5000 sat.)
Increased it's market capacity at over 7 million USD

Good projects work hard on a focused effort and consistently keep ppl in the loop.  That is true of all the coins that have staying power.

Also, they all have monetary interests, or they would not be developed as "coins" on these exchanges.  Just a fact, nothing more.

Ok, I have had confirmation from the new coin's dev that the wallet has been working well on the testnet and is all but ready for release.

With that in mind the date for the burn/buy process to commence is scheduled for this coming Friday 25th March.

A link for the wallet download will be posted on that date, along with the web address for the burn/buy page where you will be required to post a valid wallet address to receive your share of the new coin's distribution and where you will be issued with a unique BITS address to send the coins you wish to burn to.

The burn/buy submission period will cease at GMT12:00 Sunday 27th March.

Its friday 25th March Smiley any info??

I hope this doesn't happen too soon. Been trying to still resync my wallet for better part of week or so since my last post. block count still says a few weeks away from current blocks. I wish there was a more current jump start pack.
