A lot of the drop was caused by FUD.
Joel Valenzuela (aka thedesertlynx) is actually so fucking disgusting. How can you present yourself as a journalist when you are so clearly biased? Half of his posts/ articles are about how great dash is, the other half are about how terrible every other coin is. Anyone who takes this shill or anything posted on CoinTelegraph seriously is fucking retarded.
Well I already saw a vendor yesterday announcing on Alphabay a fundwhere other vendors can join and pay to hire an assassin for Joel Valenzuela cause he lost with his escrow 15% due to Joel. Never try to fu** DNM vendors with FUD lol, I was actually contemplating about this yesterday... what if DNM-vendors are really unhappy with this and now want to destroy the last bit of reputation he has left... hiring an assassin is a bit over the top I think though... Sure its way over the top...but consider he FUD a coin which is a central part for drug and weapon dealers, hackers etc....so actually he has stolen their money. I would never steal money from these type of people You don't have to kill the guy to make an "impression"! It may just take a good beating and a couple broken bones to get his attention... A good reason to keep a low profile and away from these type of activities.

But interesting news from the DNMs in his post. I guess there could be more adapting XMR. So more news. Like the Sigaint guys said: XMR is the future and the next logical step of crypto currencies.

I like the Polobox atm a bit more than the positive DNM news So much ppl. obv. ran too late into a short position with XMR and are very afraid of being liquidated btw. positive news from AlphaBay, larger usage: This is an important announcement regarding the "auto accounts" section on Alphabay. On Sunday, October 9th 2016 at 09:00 Moscow time, the "auto accounts" section will be removed from Alphabay.
The credit card autoshop will remain unaffected and will continue to work as normal. All vendors who are selling data on the "auto accounts" shop will have 72 hours to move their data to the newly created sections in "Accounts & Bank Drops" subsection of "Fraud" section, and make listings for the data.
If you still wish to have your sales automatically fulfilled like before, don't forget to add your data to the "auto-fulfill" list and your buyers will continue to receive their orders like before.
There are many reasons behind this change, the main ones being: 1) Over time, the "auto accounts" section has been littered by so much rubbish data and people using ASCII tricks to confuse the search results; 2) The "auto accounts" section was making it easier for scammers to operate without getting caught due to rudimentary feedback system; 3) It will now be easier to manage a single system for all purchases, giving the possibility to vendors to build feedback with their sales; 4) It will now be possible to accept Monero for those accounts; 5) It will help clean up the listings by offering appropriate categories rather than a throwaway "Others" category.
Pending "auto accounts" disputes will be promptly taken care of. FE-approved vendors may request FE for their newly-created listings by setting the correct "payment method" while editing the listing.

damm i should have spended the last 0.3btc i had when the price was 0.0103 (had an order 3% lower that never got filled). I keep making stupid decisions while trading but i am still in the green zoon for monero, i will not sell now. Obviously xmr will continue up, people freaked out about the fud article and i saved at least 400$. But now i hate myself over not buying more, i guess i will never be satisfied..
It doesn't matter which anonymous currency that it best, monero will win due to network effect(similar to btc vs alts) i guess we will begin to see a lot of people losing money buying monero alts now.

I bought most of the Monero at the price of 0.50 USD, then at 2 USD and then around 3 USD, but I even bought now additional XMR, don`t know why, greed.

I was actually planning to buy below 2$ but i didn't have any bitcoins and when i finally was ready to invest it was too late i also want to get rich without working but i need another 1000XMR for that which is bloody expensive now(and a bit risky). N-rG: you=awesome, you wrote earlier you bough several thousand xmr, that's still more than i will be able to afford.

You would still have to risk a few thousand dollars to ride the rally to $10/XMR and become rich

Yes this is why i hesitated to buy, now the price is 4x but we also know that xmr is getting accepted and not any other anonymous currency(actually i was not that into xmr) but now i have to risk maybe 10000$ to be able to get rich. Still not sure if i will spend 7000$ buying even more xmr, especially not if the price continue up(less xmr for my money).

I dont know...the market is actually not so hard to rumble. Maybe i think to easy, but thats what i thought: After the FUD Campaign it is somehow given by nature that the coin cannot get under more pressure having in mind that panic sells were happening for 3 weeks. Moreover the coin was before the announcement of Alphabay at something 0.005 (can we agree?) For sure 0.005 would never happen again. So the worse point could be at 0.0085. Take: y = mx+t The negative slope was already decreasing at ~104, faster and faster. For me the final bottom was next to --> BUY. Actually the FUD campaign made things a lot more easy here Whats your oppinion about that @ BitcoinNewsMagazine?

Here is a very interesting article by the Electronic Frontier Foundation on "How Big Pharma's Shadow Regulation Censors the Internet" https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2016/09/how-big-pharmas-shadow-regulation-censors-internet The article does not mention Monero at all but it does identify the role of shadow regulation in censoring payment processors. In this case to deny medicines at an affordable price to people in need for the furtherance of corporate greed and the "protection of intellectual property". When dealing with pharmaceuticals this can in many cases be a matter of life and death. A fungible, private and anonymous, crypto currency that is not constrained by artificial limits on the number transactions per second, can actually save people's lives.
