https://m.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/55y67d/are_monero_withdrawals_working_again_alphabay/

So, turns out that the monero daemon needed to be upgraded. AB monero withdrawals should be working soon.

Also unofficial GUI beta: https://www.monerowallet.com/#/gui

@N-rG

You answer on any question or you put me on ignore on all your alts?

Not sure if is worth to ask since might not get an answer, but i will try anyway. Will you make a post in Bitcoin part of forum and ask if people think BTC will crash because one darkmarket that have on wallet 44k BTC closed its doors?

Every market used BTC. BTC has already a market outside of DNM.

And yes, I have you on ignore list. You fight against me on a point where is no need. I talk about price speculation related to Monero. You talk about Monero.

I could invest before the first XRM wave appeared cause as I mentioned a Vendor told me that AB is introducing it. But before I invested I spied Fluffy and Moneromooo a bit. They both do a great job. They deserved/derserve to get paid by their work with a valueable coin. Ofc also the rest of the Team (I just looked on Git who did most) I could imagine for them more important is that they developed something like a gamechanger which is as more important for them as to become a billionaire and be famous. They idea is great and the implementation so far also. But this is all not really related to this Thread.
For the price of XMR I see problems in Marketing (not existent), Communication (soon TM) and Usablity (Wallets).
Software developers hardly should do Communication/Marketing for sure.
Specialized ppl are needed for these jobs.

So for speculation I focus the problems and that doesnt mean that I dont appreciate the work of the Team. No project has any benefit when you talk down problems. So its no FUD to monero and instead it helps a coin when point out what could be made better here and there.

The gamechangers for me are:

1. GUI (perfect would be ofc something like Electrum)
2. Marketing
3. Acceptance

2 can actually only work well with 1. And 3 can only work with 1 & 2.
Without these parameters this project can not reach the mainstream like bitcoin did (since BTC is already present). Now you can argue "Ya these things can be solved" Sure. But when? Maybe another Team will catch them up and will be the first with "a secure, private, untraceable currency". See once Nokia, Yahoo, MySpace.
BTC will be replaced somewhen for sure. Its just the question if its done by monero or something else.

To come back to the speculation Thread: I dont invest in a bagholding style with these "problems". I know for most of the ppl. everything what I post sounds like an asshole cause some people lost a lot of money. But from my POV Monero can get only stronger when its allowed to talk transparently about weak points.

And as you maybe noticed some people are already supporting XMR. They make videos on youtube, they ask sites to make news about XMR, they make translations. This is all great!

Now that Monero is on everyone's radar anything under 120 is a buy and should price spike down to 100 a strong buy. That might just happen if bitcoin takes off on a bull run up. Or you could just wait until the XMR all time high is taken out on strong volume and buy on a pullback. Anyone disagree that if Monero is to continue to be a success price will have to rise above .0265?

Maybe you were right. That could be a sign (resistance) of a turning point to rising prices:

Its going to be an interesting day. I would say 50/50 that your or mine (from yesterday) speculation is correct Smiley but i would like to see  below 0.0075 have a lot of BTC ready N-rG must be lying TM  Roll Eyes

market definetely interesting, also yesterday. decent amount of shorting going on, looks like those 2x 20k sells have both been lended coins.

i cant rule out a capitulation spike down, but sellers will probably regrett dumping in panic.

regarding the gui: the unofficial beta should be able to send and recive money, not a lot more. meanwhile the guys working on the GUI etablished a nice worklflow, which speeded up progress in the last 2 weeks. also we have a new contributor (https://github.com/Jaqueeee/monero-core), which definetely knows what he is soing and made some nice pull requests allready.

right now the transaction history and the settings page is in the works.

Every market used BTC. BTC has already a market outside of DNM.

It has other markets and other dark markets. But there are 44k BTC lying on that wallet. And this market is gone. There is no sign of any XMR there.  In general from your posts no one wanted to trade XMR on Oasis anyway.  And this people traded on Oassis will now start selling vegetables on their local vegetable marketplaces.

That is all wrong. Traders on Oassis will move to other dark markets and  all darkmarkets will start using offering their users a currency that they will most want.  It is just a matter of time.  If 100 darkamarkets close there will come 100 new one. Only one who should fear of it is BTC. Since this stolen coins might get dumped on exchanges.

For the price of XMR I see problems in Marketing (not existent), Communication (soon TM) and Usablity (Wallets).

Monero is a coin not a company. Monero dont produce anything so dont need to market anything to sell it. It yes needs to present itself as it is that si why people are writing of it and lately makes videos.
Communication that core team makes is just perfect. No one will know even 1 hour before the  GUI will be announced, altho anyone can see how work progresses. I see this highly professional.
Monero works for more then 2 years now so usability exist but is far from perfect. Constant development shows us Monero will get there.

It looks like there is some sentiment around 0.012.

It looks like there is some sentiment around 0.012. Someone or someones seem to think this is a line in the sand.

I agree there is a scrap on - and as Nano said 0.0124 is around a fib retracement level from the top, so I'd love to think it would hold.

However, we have not had that one last capitulation spike down and one more determined shorter may try.

We may even need a spike down that doesn't work to establish a real bottom.  Or an event (official GUI? / DNM demand evidence?) to lift us.   Between now and December we could still see further lows if BTC spikes up, or volume stays at this level and there is not enough willingness to buy it back up convincingly.

Even medium term I feel sure we will be healthily above these levels - certainly by spring. But right now there is no urgency for new money to buy in before an obvious turn has taken place.  I am holding and placing buys to catch any falling knives that could take us way under 0.01 - but it is true we are now low enough for most people to see it as cheap coins.  Under 0.01 (even if it comes) will not last long. I think too many people are ready to buy the hell out a bargain like that.

IMHO:

Anyone who hasn't already sold should hodl now - but keep a little on the side and watch for a real bargain if it comes....

Too much people are waiting to buy at 0.01 or below, that's why I think it won't happen.

I'm definitely one of them... not putting a penny in 0.012 when the trend is clearly down

Don't forget there are new competitors coming into market. Privacy wise zcash is being hpyed for more than 2 years now and given it will have very small amount of coins for at least a year it might push Monero down. There are also other competitors on the market such as Augur and upcoming Iconomi where people would dump to catch the train, perhaps. So if there are not any huge news, I think price will keep falling, but to what extent I can't say. 0.01 seems to be where most of you would like to buy but I would wait for 0.008.

I do not know about others but I am not dumping XMR to get some other coin. If I want to invest in something else, I buy it with btc which I buy with fiat.

14% of ICONOMI found will be XMR.  So those of you who plans to buy 300k+ XMR keep in mind that XMR is on radar of everyone now. They already have 7k BTC that was collected to much for this found. So that mean 1000 reserved to buy XMR.  and they did not started operating.  ICONOMI is not a competition to crypto like Monero. It is a way to bring fresh fiat into crypto like Monero.

WTF 136 now?  Looks like I missed my chance to sell @120 Sad

Ya u missed to sell at 136

For the ones who didnt sell earlier i would strongly recommend to baghold now. Chance to high that all are going in now an the price is exploding.

I don't get why the markets like kraken say officially that "they accept only small number of coins and doesn't want to expand more" (again their support said that answering my ticket why they don't accept monero)   but still  the little speculative f..ks accepted this new coin Augur or whatever s**t it is.  In the crypto world nothing makes sense.  1% of people have like 90% of the markets and capital and they decide which coin is going to have a better price. Monero is the only fair launch and distribution coin that actually made it through the filter and they want to suppress it again.
