Pretty shaky start of the year. First Fortnite, then Kovri drama, then Fortnite denial and now 1% supply ransom. If this year will continue like this, my hearth might not make it to the end. Oh and what I would add to the kidnapping thingy: Privacy is the first pillar of security. If these criminals would not know she is a multimillionaire they would never kidnapped her. Whoa whoa whoa... What?! Nothing bad seems to be announced in here or I may have missed them. Care to share more info on the 'Kovri drama' and the 'Forthnite denial'? https://i2p.rocks/blog/kovri-and-the-curious-case-of-code-rot-part-1.htmlhttps://i2p.rocks/blog/kovri-and-the-curious-case-of-code-rot-part-2.htmlI don't have the skill to know if this is FUD or not, sorry. I would like to see a rebuttal as the guy who wrote that also says he has written what we are looking for already although when I read that info (I think it's called loki) I saw one gapping attack vector but I'll not mention that unless we are considering using it.

I personally would like to hear @Smooth thoughts on this. Honestly I am staying the hell away from the Kovri drama. I've been wary of it for quite some time. That is not meant as a comment either way about whether any action should or should not be taken. It is simply my position that until required by some sense of governance (such as the core team being called upon to weigh in on whether FFS milestones have been met), I will exercise my prerogative as an unpaid volunteer to not get involved with it and to work for a better Monero and a better world in other ways.

Anyone care to discuss even a single particular type of voodoo they've used throughout the years to determine exactly how loud the crickets are getting?
I think one of the ones I always liked was navigating to bitcointalk's altcoin section and, at various times of the day, observing exactly how deep the number of posts that show up as the last post having been 'TODAY', was always one of my old favorites.
I think it possibly has a bit less significance now than say 2014 being that there are many other increasingly popular avenues of collaboration, but still that one's definitely within my top ten favorite voodoo's.
Like now, there are 8 topics extending into the second page of the altcoin speculation section .. whereas during peak frenzy mode there have been well over 15 pages worth of posts indicating that 'TODAY' was the last post.
Is there a way to automize gathering these voodoo metrics, drawing a graph? For comparisons along other market metrics like trade volume. Tracking twitter activity has been another one, but that got gamed pretty easily by the usual parties.

Big mistake for the 'hackers' *wink wink* not going for XMR to move their loot around. Now they got some of it, prolly most, locked at Binance.

I confess I understand his fascination for Grin. Mind you, he is also a moderate fan of a certain other coin... And i thought Grin won't launch it's mainnet anytime soon. But looks like the client is far from user-friendly and only mid-high end GPU can mine GRIN for now.
Any chance you'll accept another cryptocurrency (XMR, ETH or perhaps DOGE) soon?
XMR is possible, but probably not the others. We aren't written off yet, then

XMR is possible, but probably not the others. We aren't written off yet, then It’s not the point of being “approved” or not... it’s the hypocrisy that annoys me. Maximalist have always shot down any coin that has tried market itself as being a potential better solution to Bitcoin due to legit reasons such as Bitcoin’s reliability/security... If they have strong opinions about something, like the OG bitcoin being the only crypto worthy of consideration, that’s one thing and I can totally understand that reasoning... but all the sudden accepting grin with wide open arms? Fuck that. Something is totally weird about it, yet I can’t really tell why I feel that way. Does no one else feel this way??

It seems many of the old school bitcoiners who didn't pile on Monero are now piling on Grin.
Maybe they feel like the missed the boat on Monero?

You do know how to cut to the chase. I missed this boat by my own mistake but still support it and buy every week (pretty much).

How true are those rumors that Grin devs are really some of the BTC Core devs gone anon? And who among the Core devs would most likely be working on Grin? Another question, are there any Core devs dissatisfied with BTC?

Prices are good right now for accumulators, always useful to hold some XMR bags as it has a real world use albeit a dark one. People have guns at home for protection, it is worth having some monero as well, never know when it might come in useful.
