Let's take a look at the past 3 months on the ALT-market  Roll Eyes

In February there started a massive rally on almost all altcoins, BTC remained stable (+/- 2,5%), and this weekend, consolidated, all altcoins dropped massively in their value.
Like i stated a month ago, this rally tasted the same as last year, at the moment speaking my forecast seems to be true, although i did not think this would happen in somewhat 3 days.
The difference in the volumes compared to last year indicates, that there was a strategy behind this all, which i think was a shifting from BTCholders to altcoins and now back to BTC
I believe this was the work of some very good investors who are able to control and manipulate the whole altcoin market, and in respect to that, we will see the same manipulation on the BTC market in a few weeks from now. The best excuse for the future BTC rally will be the "BTC halving scapegoat", and the altcoins will probably be dropped like hot potatos.

What we are now seeing in the altcoin market, tends to be the "true" value of the altcoins, meaning this is the value the community thinks, that their coins are worth. The big guys are out of the artificial pumps and leave the bagholders behind.

Mark this comment of mine, and i am not an investor in above meaning, neither a pro in trading, have a cup of tea and watch the BTC halving pump, which will also be massive in all terms. I believe we will all witness a rally (cashout) like never before, and then i am interested in the "true" value of BTC at the end of Q3 2016.

Kind regards,
elrippo

The true value of a coin, I believe, is not the value given by a community representing nothing at the global world scale. If your theory would be true, I would rather speak about the "present true value".

Agreed, the "true value" in my post implicates the "present true value" of any coin at the moment speaking  Grin

.0022498 is the fib that is supporting price. If not, next one is .0017. I think it will hold but is difficult to say for sure

I tend to agree.
Even 2000 usd/xmr is possible, however the probability is significiantly lower than reaching 0.003-0.004.
The bottom line is, anything can happen and when there are strong buyers buying behind the scenes, many will turn bearish but the price will continue rising (like it happened with btc - even wizard Reptilian sold part of his coins way too early to buy the castle).

I am still bullish. A retracement is healthy and allows for people to jump back in so long as they actually pull the trigger.

~0.0029 coincides the bottom of the channel (0.001200 thru 0.001904) with the 38.2% retracement (0.00097 to 0.0042).

That's a pretty strong package, but it if breaks, then the 50% retracement sits at 0.0025950.

(We don't want the 50% marker to break as that would be a technical reversal of everything built from 0.0009.)

No way we break 300k.

At least we're on the same page now, albeit two weeks out.

Having said that, the 50% marker is clearly done - too late for it to be a useful indicator.

Surprise, now the incompetent fools cannot process my btc transaction till maybe tomorrow. Grin  This all should have been done almost 2 weeks ago Tongue

Who would like to speculate when I will actually receive it and what the price of Monero will be at that time Huh

You were right, I totally underestimated the downward momentum the dump caused. I also thought our correlation to the ETH chart was done, but I'm back on that train now. Like I said, I'm still bullish here and have sold some other coins I was hodling to pick up some more XMR, too much development in the pipeline not to turn around IMO.

My 2 cents (amended), since someone asked:

Sure. So what coin(s) do you recommend based on your superior requirements?

What is your goal?

1. Short-term profits: gambling or P&D?
2. Long-term profits?
3. Ideological investment to support crypto-currency adoption?

Answers:

1. Close your eyes and pick some from a grab brag or get on the inside with a good scammer.
2. Bitcoin (maybe Monero, but I would prefer Bitcoin yet Monero has greater potential long-term upside)
3. IMO and AFAICS, no realistic choice yet available, other than Bitcoin ecosystem investments

Fair enough. I just don't get why you picked Monero for #2 (along with BTC) knowing that it started as a #1. Can you specify your reasoning?

Bitcoin has 100 times more adoption (don't compare by market cap) given by transaction fees and equivalent power consumption for hashrate than any altcoin. So it currently has the only realistic chance of furthering crypto-currency adoption. Any other coin would have to grow 100 times before it is even making any improvement. 100 times adoption growth is extremely unrealistic.

Thus Bitcoin is the most stable for long-term growth and the most liquid. Bitcoin could possibly fall apart with the block size scaling problems, but I assume this will get resolved with increasing centralization and/or rising transaction fees.

Monero has the best of breed privacy that no other coin can touch. They are implementing RingCT which combined with Cryptonote will hide values, sender, and recipient. This is all End-to-End principled, so Dash is just a nonsense toy compared to Monero w.r.t. to anonymity (notwithstanding many other technical and economic flaws in Dash). Monero has a real cryptographer who is expert in algebraic geometric and other abstract math. Dash doesn't have this. There is no other coin out there with a realistic technology that actually works. Ethereum, List, Iota, MaidSafe, Sia, Storj, Synereo, etc are all flawed and won't work.

There is only one non-bullshit coin with innovation. Monero. Period.

Lol, way OT but whatever, at least Dash has such amazing innovations as a GUI wallet, several of them even which is several more than another coin being heavily promoted in this thread Wink Want to see real innovation? Read the link in the first post.

A GUI wallet does not a technology make.

Yeah more innovation such as the high school math error that was in the InstantX white paper for 1 year until I read the paper.

Buy XMR now while prices are dirt cheap. The crypto markets as a whole are still volatile but with so much development going on with this coin I really feel it will be up over $10 US by the end of the year.  The community is strong and the development is really picking up lately.  I've also noticed many new people posting and asking questions about Monero. All good signs.

I do have a question though.  What is this Bitcoin halving stuff?  Is it if I hold one bitcoin it now becomes two bitcoins.  I never followed bitcoin very closely so not sure what is going on.  From recent reading I have read about lotss of stagnation within their community on which way to go or which road to follow.

Buy now because in a month or two at most these prices on Monero will be history forever.  Just my opinion.

No it's if you have 1 btc it becomes half a btc which is the reason they have to pump the price up Grin Grin

Actually it's the block reward which will be cut in half from 25 to 12.5.  This happens every 4 years(?) and will be the second time this has happened.

blocksize issues > BTC moved into alts >calmed down BTC discussion and "halving pump expectations > alts moved back into BTC > no or disappointing halving Pump and reemerging blocksize discussion > 10x the BTC flow back into alts

at least what i hope  Smiley

Let's wait and see  Wink

Noticable: Every time Monero picks up some value, dumps accure...

LOL sounds like the guy I sold my cheap coins to. Only they are much cheaper now. Price goes up, we dump some more and watch the beliebers rejoice ! Dump before you get dumped on in this scheme. Have you not paid attention to what has been posted for last few pages. You will always regret not selling more in this coin for every price rise as evidenced by even Legendary posters. If price ever goes to even 0.003 there will be 100k+ type of sell walls appear (which by the way still will be massive profit for those sellers).

Or be happy with development in the coin (LMAO) ...

Respect Dotto - you called the dump short term bottom target pretty well.

I wish I had listened and traded it accordingly.

Personally I feel it is the bottom for now, unless of course BTC is where the money is going as Elrippo's scenaro (plausibly) suggests.

But one would hope XMR at least holds up in USD terms even if BTC does pump spectacularly.  And of course that 'where do BTC profits from sales at the top head for?' question is valid; why not into a new Altcoin pump...?

If the market is as playable as it seems to appear, then the big money will not want to sit out of the whole market if it's on a roll.
