Question,

I am reading a lot of articles again today that Bitcoin will burst because transactions are way to high and payment processing time takes so long... Only people who speculate on the price are holding btc now...

If the Bitcoin bubble burst, do we go down as well or could it be a massive shift from Bitcoin into other coins? I guess we go down, a lot of speculators that own Bitcoin don't know shit about other better coins...

Once speculators get into BTC they generally research alts and one of the first alt they will learn about is Monero as can be verified by the subscriber numbers. XMR is becoming a safer hedge than any other except USDT as far as I can see and I think it's because a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and these people don't know USDT is a worthless token that is backed by nothing.

What makes you think USDT is backet by nothing ? isn't it supposed to be "tetherised" to USD and backed by the same amount of USDas USDT circulating ?

XMR is sure a true crypto but its value could collapse as fast it climbed, given the look the chart... if BTC crash XMRwould easily follow.

i would gladly hear more information about USDT being "backed by nothing", as a beginner i always though it was backed the same number of circulating coin ?

Soon I will buy XMR but I don't have a buying opportunity at the moment.
I follow Monero curiously and I will buy one day  Smiley

Why you still waiting? Price is good for buy Wink
If you do not buy now you will regret tomorrow. So time to move! Smiley

Monero is out of the top 10 again.
Will it regain strength again soon?

I think nobody knows that. We can only believe, but I think yes it will be in the top 10 again.

WTF?? Profit taking everywhere I guess. A Snowball effect, I wonder if it will go to a dead cat bounce? A little early to be thinking of that but a jagged drop would not be out of the question for all coins.

Dead cat bounce?

All the red looked like all coins going down at once so was speculating how far down BTC would go.

633 717 spike, back  down a bit.  Dropped from coinmarketcap, probably for being almost 2x the other exchanges.  National epiphany?

WTF is going on?  CB releases BCH and Korea spikes XMR at the same time.   I dunno.

And perhaps it could become the best if the Tether market crashed. It is defiantly a possibility that at some point people will stop valuing Tether, especially now with the withdrawals disabled.

Just noticed that myself, it has dropped down from #10 to #12 today. I’m gonna guess that it’ll return soon, although I can’t be sure.

I haven't paid much attention to other coins these past few months, but does the price in Bithumb typically get reflected in US markets or are they always an outlier? Does this kind of discrepancy usually result in a price increase in the US or not?

Even stranger, it seems to be standing it's ground.  Could be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5BJXwNeKsQ ?

The broader crypto market looks similar to how it did in May, just with bigger numbers. Bitcoin is languishing as altcoins surge. Rumours of a "flippening" are starting to go around again.
Monero looks stronger this time though.

What is happening to bitcoin scares me a wee bit.  However, as a Monero fan I am a little excited, because it is not really understood what a good niche it fills.

Interesting times.

When it looked like Bithumb was falling off it's spike, I sold off a bit of my margin long/BTC.  Now they are holding/climbing back.  So if y'all don't mind, I'd like it back  Grin

Still no news on the x2 spike?  Just more crazy Korean antics?
