[XMR] Monero Speculation

There will indeed be more days in the sun.  2016 and 2017 were spectacular for Monero, with huge appreciation against BTC.

I have no reason to think this cycle will not see more fun and games.  Monero is seen positively as a 'real' coin and also one with as incredibly important case as has been mentioned above.  The fear of authorities intervening to ban it has been real, but the counter argument that in some cases even banks need privacy is starting to mitigate against this.  Besides, any attempt to curtail use will only certify that Monero works and they cannot trace it.  The Lindy effect means the likelihood of this kind of issue is decreasing and the price is reflecting this.

The cycle of the market baked into Bitcoin will likely repeat and coupled with scarcity that means Monero will shine again, it's been woefully underpriced for too long.

It would be funny to see if Monero would start its rally now when all coins are in deep reds. I dont believe it will but on other hands it has to do it. There is just to much upward pressure. It can happen in months or weeks or days or hours. Sure is only that it will happen .

It's been a long time since Monero did one of it's old fashioned upward rips that it used to be famous for.

The last time it really did was the ol' AB to accept XMR insider trading bit.  Pretty sure some people in the know 'from all sides' made bank.  You know who you are. 

And that's the beauty of XMR..  Nobody would know for sure.

Steady upward pressure indeed - it's popped a little over 0.009, let's see if it likes the view a little more this time.

It's 0.01 that I really want to leave behind, but I don't doubt we will see it before too long.

EDIT: Just checked Polo as I know it well in terms of XMR v BTC.  The buy side is over 50% of the sell side.  This is unusually high and normally a good sign.

The barrier may be the $100 mark in XMR/USD terms which it seems to be hovering under by less than 2 bucks.

11 days above 0.008 btc. that is new longest streak this year.  It is also time for new YTH that is at 0.0095.  It was about time. A lot of coins already made new YTH after March crash.  Bitcoin and Ethereum both did it in July. Monero is harder to move.

I came here to post basically this.

That we are now approaching the ATH for 2020 (.00945) as well as the ATH for the last cal year+ (.0115).

Once it stakes a flag in that area I am seeing not much holding it back from it's old highs.  I mean... I don't guess it can just shoot all the way back up, but it does not look like there is a lot of technical resistance back up to that point.

Someone take this hopium pipe away from me before I suffocate myself.

So there has been a slight wait for the second release of Spesmonerujo notes due to logistical issues, but here's a sneak peak of the notes that are to come

This series will be a little different from the ones prior.  There will only be 100 notes in total and each will be loaded with 0.15 xmr/150 millimoneroj in honor of the Carbon Chamaeleon v0.15 release.  The next Nitrogen series will be loaded with 0.16, and so on.  This will be the first release where all profits will be directed to general development (1st release was to help cover costs of the start up).

It's times like these when I almost wished I cared about the entire sector.  I feel like then I might have a good idea considering all the rest of the alts...   But the two projects I care about are in kind of different places.

Bitcoin is consolidating and building steam to start the last few runs (months?) to ATHs, and Monero is testing an area where it is making an approach for a breakout from hibernating for really a couple years.  Are the other major alts in the same spot?

I hear you, I care about BTC as a store of value but everything else is ALL Monero.
