I hold both but don't mind gambling so am more weighted to Monero and thats because
I believe in our right to privacy I believe in our codebase I believe in our developers and I believe in our community
What I don't believe in is the average Joe on this planet, I'm not sure the sheep will ever wake up in my lifetime, but I will remain diligent.

Monero and Ethereum are the two best investments for this next bull run. They will both heavily outperform bitcoin.
Monero is what people used to think bitcoin was, a private currency with cheap fees.
Bitcoin has become quite hilarious, lightning is so shit and look at how much more btc is on the ethereum network. Bitcoiners still think high fees are a good thing? ???Idiots like Luke Jr saying blocksize should be smaller. At least ethereum is working on solutions to scaling and lowering fees.

You are only seeing the Bitcoin network as a payments network. I am of the mind we already have a ton of good payments networks. Bitcoin is a brand new monetary system, and it is programmable. If the lightning network does not improve (and i think it is likely to by quite a bit) then something else trust minimized will take it's place. And all the trust based models (Credit Cards, Cash App, etc) will flourish as they begin to use the bitcoin network at their base. And they can continue to offer their advantages. For example reversible payments. Bitcoin will never do this. And that is a feature, not a bug. But do we really want a world in which we have no option to pay a little to a trusted third party to be able to protect us from fraud? People tend to look at Bitcoin in a one or two dimensional light, and proclaim that it is here to save us from all these things we don't really need to be saved from, and they miss so much. What Bitcoin saves us from is potentially the greatest evil the world has ever seen... and it's not Visa.

Hash rate has returned to earth, looks like it started dropping for the weekend. Interesting to see if it is restored Monday morning.

Speculating, but the hashrate dropped from 1.924 to 1.502 GH/s after yesterday’s fork. Which is about a 22% decline. Might be that a botnet was not able to update their ‘remote miners’. Can we somewhere see the hashrate on the minority chain, it might be that it is still going at about a quarter of the hashrate.

I struggle myself to understand what Atomic Swaps effect will have in short/mid term. I guess it will give more utility to Monero so it will reflect positively. But what about adoption? Who wants to receive BTC in a totally KYC/AML free DEX, possibly tainted, without a big discount in price?

Yeah, that will probably bee the main reason, so another security feature from Monero Wikipedia is not a reliable source of information concerning crypto or other relevant topics which are not meeting mainstream conformity

No one says there will not be a discount in price. Yes many dont see much profit for Monero. Specially long term. But any new possibility should be a profit. Better to have it even if no one uses it than not to have it and maybe people badly need to use it.

https://twitter.com/verretor/status/1317428180748304390It's almost 2021. How the hell does Bill Drug Lord Gates still think BTC is anonymous? Meanwhile, XMR hash rate is creeping back up. Now above the point where it accelerated before the upgrade. Some folks starting their Monday, How high before I get there?

As much as I prefer monero to btc there is no such thing as tainted btc. People will still give you the same amount of money for it. If there was really tainted bitcoin you could just send some to those whale wallets with 1k+ bitcoin and now all those bitcoin are tainted? Give me a break lol

^ A premium is paid for newly mined bitcoins purchased directly from miners. Same for the ones auctioned by the US Marshals. This means all bitcoins are already selling for a discount because of having transaction history, and some more than others.

Sorry but this is not how it works. If a whale address receives a tainted UTXO, is that UTXO and not the others that is tainted. But good luck selling it without any hidrance.

"In terms of transaction time, this feature is expected to improve transaction time by 10%. On the other end, transaction sizes will be flattened down by a good 25%. This is a big step for Monero as it continues to maintain its spot as a leading privacy coin in the ever-changing world of digital assets." Maybe it is finally time for some good uptrend for monero huh?

So i sold 50% of my stock, let's see what happens until end of november 50%! Braver than I. I was waiting for the 0.0105 level, and it came. Below that, I don't see any clear stopping point until the 80's (and that I just close my eyes and pretend isn't there) There is still a lot of buying at this level, we will see where it ends. You usually have it right, so good luck to you.

They will not. Coins that were stolen from KuCoin ( I dont even know if there was and BTC) are all tainted and all big exchanges will lock them as soon someone deposit them there. USA dont trade with Iran. If they will find out someone traded with Iran they will mark those Bitcoins as tainted. Just them USA. EU and Iran will keep them as totally fine. On the other hand Iran can mark some Bitcoins that are connected with USA terrorist regime as tainted. And they will not let anyone use those coins in Iran. Since USA market is bigger than Iranian, the coins tainted by USA government will be worth less then the ones Iran tainted. So there will not be Bitcoins worth $10000 and Bitcoins worth zero, but there will be a shades between those two numbers. 1 Bitcoin will be worth $1-$20000
