If you make it really really big, and red, it's obviously true. Good plan.

It is illuminating how, after the "Every single coin is shit except monero" thread was forensically exposed as a lie, the Monero shills squeal like piggies!  Cheesy

Btw - I don't agree with the OP that Monero itself or the devs are scam - just that there is an unofficial and concerted pump & dump conspiracy going on.

Nekomata on the previous page asked me "Why are you breathing?" But then he deleted this message. Going to the individual is a classic plan of XMR.

If by "forensically exposed" you mean changing web sites after the fact and by producing even more faked documents and signatures that can't be verified by any third party to have ever existed before, then yeah, exactly.

Fail.

I don't know this person but he said it well (oh, and look who is providing this bogus "proof'" in that other thread -- what a surprise):

Look at this. I checked the snapshots of CSS files RethinkYourStrategy posted here and this is what I found. It don’t match. I checked every web page myself and the CSS code from his snapshots is different from the reality. Since I found this I don’t trust his research anymore. Every single thing that he claims must be doublechecked.

Obviously, the CSS has been changed to no longer reflect the original findings. There is no reason such a change would not be made.

Checking website contents or adding new website as proof for something, in such a way that it cannot be verified with archive.org, after the time of this reveal does not prove anything, because websites are easily created, modified and timestamps are trivial to falsify.

As we are all here for the purpose of reasonable discourse, I hope for your understanding and hope that no more of this type of unreliable evidence is posted.

How do you ascertain pump and dump from genuine growth, interest, quality dev team, etc?
I don't see the pump, unless you want to include all the educated posters, programmers, cryptographers, etc. as being involved. But then it is what it is, with no bad intentions. Just a strong and resilient community that is consistently growing, both with BIG money and small.
There was no pre-mine, instamine, etc.

The volume has been huge and consistent.
The dev team VERY communicative, progress has been consistent, issues addressed, etc.
Questions are consistently answered. Techinical questions are always addressed in depth.

Everything about Monero seems extremely professional. It is squeaky clean.  Grin

Its about sharing

PS - thanks to the OP and Shills for helping to get the price moving again.

All I know is that people (including myself) should value their time better and stop feeding trolls and bumping threads full of slanderous and stupid content, making them even more visible.

@Monero devs: I observe that you're trying to refute almost every single troll that spread lies about you and your work. I'm not discussing the quality of the posts, but the pertinence of the effort.
I fully understand that it's very difficult not to defend yourself but remember people are donating money so you can optimize your time. Counter-attacking trolls and shill-accounts on such a far-west of a forum is a full time job by itself. Is that really necessary? Isn't that going too far? Do you think those guys really constitute a threat? I genuinely wonder.

No, but I find their lack of even a sliver of a clue of what they are talking about somewhat amusing. Consider the fly-swatting to be a needed diversion from the 18 hour days.

Too funny that OP thinks Come From Above, the biggest troll on BTC-talk, actually donated 5000 XMR

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

I am famous seeing my quotes on first post LOL
Although i said they are irritating ..that is not proof of anything.

I think the OP was being fair and bag holders are diving on him/her
but i don't blame you guys defending XMR on the other hand either.
I am kind of split on this LOL

I see no smoking gun showing XMR is shady.. it may seem a bit fishy on occasion
and their supporters may be irritating but all i see mostly here is come-from-above is a supporter
with his never ending i am the the richest guy on earth routine.. which again, don't mean much..
unless you can prove come-from-above like made the coin or something we got nothing to sink our teeth into.

so what i am seeing is not enough to call it a scam.. although i did say that yesterday (joking around)
i see no real proof *yet
And i feel obligated to be fair about it.. if i thought differently i would just say so i am not shy around here Wink

/just my 2 cents  Cool

Are you joking.

Come from above made a post saying that he was going to give 100 bitcoin to someone, guess what,he never did. He is trolling, he  alsohasn't bought a single bitcointalk account. He's a troll

Op's post has got to be the dumbest, piece of shit, I have ever read, and I'm on vacation. Not to mention, that op himself is a sock puppet account, as that's been shown in this thread.

The Monero XMR Scam Uncovered

1.2. How much is the fish? A weird fact

Come-from-Above has donated 5000 XMR for the XMR GUI wallet.

Based on XMR and BTC prices on July 19,
5000 XMR = 5000 * 0.00455 = 22.75 BTC
5000 XMR = 22.75 * 627 = $14,624

Can you even imagine somebody wanting the GUI wallet so badly that he donates $14,000? For an already available totally free software? Which runs on .NET and cannot be used without an ugly extension? While the market price of such a development would be way beyond $1,000, more like 1 BTC?

I'm not even sure which of the two explanations is worse. Try answering yourself:
Case 1: a whale donating $14k to a XMR wallet developer and buying hero accounts
Case 2: a shill account pretending to have donated $14k and buying hero accounts

As a side note, the GUI wallet developer Jojatekok has quite an interesting activity history. He's commenting only on XMR thread and is mainly supporting his wallet only. Doesn't he look more like a maintainer of GUI thread to help conceal that all GUI wallets are being developed by the core team with no 3rd party developers around the coin? I do not want to seem too obsessed with the conspiracy theories, but those things just don't add up.

I just came here to gladly declare that my BitcoinTalk account was primarily registered in order to participate in a bounty for an open-source GUI wallet.

If you are curious, one of my internet friends started teaching me how to program 3 or 4 years ago in VB.NET (I also have to admit that I had little experience with GML before). Last year, we switched to C# for its greater adoption rate and better performance. Now, I am 16 years old, and wanted to try out myself in developing software for a competition, and it turned out pretty well. I received a little more than 530 XMR for the effort, but still love to maintain the project (as much as Thomas Edison adored his own "baby", the phonograph). Also, there are currently 18 translations available for Monero Client .NET, so I would be doubtful about the lack of global interest. I'm a third-party developer who cares about the users and success of Monero. Smiley

As Fluffypony has already told you, I didn't know back then that Come-from-Above was a scammer, but if he is ever willing to send me 5000 XMR (even by mistake), I would donate all of it to the core development team.

Dead thread, all points easily disproved above. Move along people.

Monero is the most well-organized pump job I've ever seen. Not only do they have an army of devs and paid fanboys spamming monero 24/7 but they also have the backing on an entire EXCHANGE to help coordinate and strengthen their pumps! (Poloniex, if there was any question).

Monero represents the essence of greed and stupidity in the crypto community and although it is one of the more sophisticated scams / Ponzi schemes I have encountered here, it is still a scam / Ponzi nontheless.

THINK ABOUT IT: Does ANYBODY care about Monero except for the flaming fanboys and Poloniex? NO!!!

 - NO real-world application
 - NO desire to integrate into day-to-day finances
 - NO long-term plan or evidence the dev team plans on being around even more than 1 year from now.

Good post. I've yet to see anything like it, and although there are genuine people that have been manipulated, Monero appears to be a big scam, organised by a handful of people and backed by an exchange.

The volume is another tell-tale sign of it being suspect. It's trading around 100 BTCs a day, yet the price is more or less static. This is coupled with a number of posts on here and at Poloniex about Monero's ranking at Coinmarketcap.

Allegedly Feathercoin in the early days was buying and selling its own coins, I think this is another case.

(allegedly)
