He said: "... i thought we were all in this together." Yes, this is a fact. 1. litecoindark : The update has the biggest priority now 2. you : So, 2GEN Whitepaper is not even a priority? 3. Me : they never said that, they said this update is a higher priority 4. litecoindark : Ofcourse it has a priority but you must understand that some things must be done first 5. you : Wrong. He stated it is the biggest priority. (<= isn't that wht i said?) litecoindark confirmed my response (3 & 4) Normaly I would not response on this kind of messages because I am a independent party and it's the same now. In this case is seem to me very clear and I think everybody understand this, update has the highest priority...

EcoChavCrypto,
Thanks!! I did not have the time to go back to read all pages & find your post. I just recall ? posted that once, then nobody replied. (I had assumed they wrote privately.) Linux wallet is pretty big to have, because it is a true encryption avenue of communication!! If we don't have it, we lose ALL of those LINUX aficionados as potential users/investors, which is not so good.
Thank you for your contribution to the team here!!

How long until the Linux wallet is ready? thnx.
EDIT: How long until "2GEN Whitepaper" is done?
~darylluke.
Litecoindark, The update has the biggest priority now. When that one is successful, then the new website will be launched. Linux wallet Will be available together with the update. Of course, you can also compile Your own Linux wallet if you really needed one. So, 2GEN Whitepaper is not even a priority? ( I thought it was almost completed. )I felt that it was.... (I saw an investor sent a linux wallet to you to test.)thanx. ~darylluke. That would be me. I managed to build both 32 and 64 bit QT from 2.1.1 source (64 working fine) I also got the Windows version working fine through Wine. I didn't receive a response for testing. When the devs do build the new wallet with fork for Linux may I suggest building both 64 and 32 bit versions. I can never get 32 bit wallets working on my 64 bit machine (I am sure I am not alone). I often have to build 64 from source. Offering both options will help those new to Linux get a functioning wallet without having to piss about with compatibility issues and the hassle of building. I see no problem that you compile the linux version based on the 1.2.2 wallet as soon as it is released. But make sure that the team tests before release. We are working on the new homepage as well sitewise with the new wallet. We have to make this finished as well before we are able to present the coin to some new additions and goals that is further down the road map. An important thing is as well that we get as many videos to chose from in the upcomming poll. So get those machines burning hot making awesome videos.

Thanks again devs for all your work. I think all 3 major exchanges should confirm their updates first with no dead time (I'm sure they would do it within 7 days). Other exchanges are not that important, because they have ltcd trade next to zero. That would be me. I managed to build both 32 and 64 bit QT from 2.1.1 source (64 working fine) I also got the Windows version working fine through Wine. I didn't receive a response for testing. Thanks so much for that! You are not much of a chav with these skills though :-)

Well good afternoon all nice to see the latest news and community all involved. I personally think 48 hours to get the pools updated will be plenty of time plus get a confirmation back just ask them to please let the devs know when they are updated and were good to go

I would recommend everyone in crypto switch to Linux, I hear horror stories from Windows users all the time loosing coins. My advice would be to chose the distro that best suits your needs (Mint and Ubuntu are good for beginners). Make sure to encrypt your hard disk, set up your firewall and as an added layer of security a 256 bit AES encrypted VPN which will keep all communications safe, secure and your IP hidden from people wanting to steal your coins (especially people IP grabbing from IRC channels). ALWAYS encrypt your wallets. I had some bitcoin hijacked because I forgot to. A virus was injected into the blockchain and was monitoring transactions. Bitcoin was sent off within 5 seconds of a transaction clearing, this happened in Linux because the virus was in the blockchain. Its worth virus scanning every now and again despite 90% of viruses being built for Windows.

Crypto is great because it blends many different knowledge bases together under one room. If there is one skill we can all learn from each other, that would definitely have to be using your devices as securely as possible. Although loading a Linux Distro onto a virtual machine or a separate drive partition may be difficult, at first -- it is in fact a finite number of steps and procedures that you can surely master in time; and you will be glad you took the time to learn later on when someone you know is hacked, but you were not due to taking the proper initiative. And yes, always encrypt your wallets. VERY IMPORTANT!

I have been leaving most of my coins on bittrex because I have heard of people loosing their coins from their wallets, but only heard of one instance with Mintpal and Vericoin... I think... anyway why is it unsafe to leave coins on bittrex? or where is it safest to leave coins... in idiot terms please

Leave only the amount your are willing to risk. Keep them at your wallet at your computer and encrypt it.

plus if the exchange is hacked they are after one thing btc Its not only BTC but with other potential high valued altcoins.. have you heard the thing happened on cryptorush.in where they also stole blackcoins? , NXT on bter.com and then Vericoin on Mintpal.com As always just leave any amount of coins you can take risk on an exchange and leave the rest on your local wallet.

if the wallet is encrypted they would have to know your password to send the coins to another wallet so you should be ok . Back up the wallet dat and encrypt it you should be fine.
