I have been leaving most of my coins on bittrex because I have heard of people loosing their coins from their wallets, but only heard of one instance with Mintpal and Vericoin... I think... anyway why is it unsafe to leave coins on bittrex? or where is it safest to leave coins... in idiot terms please

Well for one... LTCD will be the first true crypto 2.0 in that it's being built in a modular fashion which will allow all sorts of additional development on top of the core without having to recompile it every time you do an upgrade... So it's like create a feature and drop it in... If that feature needs an upgrade just drop it in and so on... To the end user that feature won't be apparent but it's a very big deal... All sorts of features can and will be added this way... Transferring money is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to features this coin will be able to be used for in the long run!!

Hope I described that okay... I am no expert or programmer... But this is how I understand it...

if the wallet is encrypted they would have to know your password to send the coins to another wallet so you should be ok . Back up the wallet dat and encrypt it you should be fine.

True. However the drawback is then you cannot stake the coins to get interest.

Now if the devs could do a POS with an encrypted wallet; that would be awesome.

Your encrypted wallet will still work.  

What I meant to say is that I would like to see a wallet where we can still stake even if it is encrypted.

The top address on rich list has been moving coins out in small chunks, for last few days. Quite possibly to the exchanges. So expect the progressive dumping and price going down.
