Why do people hate islam?

Nowadays it`s just a normal thing to hate. people hate each other, religions, politics and so one. There are no people ho doesn`t hate anything. So hating - it`s a general characteristic of modern humenity.

I am Muslim but I really hate terrorists, their behavior is like the barbarians, killing others cruelly, I think this is what makes the image of Islam corrupted, in fact Islam teaches love and peace, our prophet taught to love the universe

Ignorance. They know nothing about it and that allows people to fill the gaps in their knowledge with whatever bias they have. It's also true that all people hear about are Islamic terrorists. Obviously the jihadists represent a very small number of Muslims.

Very true, just because these extremists are Muslims doesn't mean that all Muslims are terrorists. In America, the religion of most offenders are Catholics, do we hate Catholics? Are we saying all Catholics are criminal? No. We should broaden our thinking. We shouldn't hate the religion the extremists represent. We should hate terrorism altogether.

People are too judgemental. It is ridiculous, sometimes the hate is too much. There are so many good muslims around so why do people stereotype so much and only associate the bad? And yes, many terrorists are muslims but it doesn't mean that Islam teaches them to do that. People have their own free will and that is their decision not because the book tell them to do so.

I have great respect for Muslims. Among my friends a lot of Muslims, and we have never had a conflict. They are friendly people and respect the local traditions

I'm not a racist person but you say that many or some people hate islam people because they have a different beliefs in life. Islam people and other religion did not understand each other because of what they fighting for. Here in philippines, islam people is so very bad. They are going to rebel to fight for territory and for money ransom. I'm not saying all of the islam people is bad but some of i see in tv, hear in my friends that their are story that shocks you about islam people. for some other Christians, they hate Islam just because they are trained since childhood to hate Islam,

They're probably racist and see criticising Islam as a way of attack. I know white people but I hardly hear them saying things about Islam to us negatively there is some women at work who is actually intrested in how we pray and our way of life and we can discuss religion normally without hating.

If that is a general characteristic, then why the people are only hating Islam and Muslims? Why they are not hating Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Animists, Atheists, and Taoists? So there is something in Islam which makes normal people hate it. And the problem is that rather than taking care of these issues the Muslims are busy accusing others of Islamophobia.

Islam isn't a bad religion, but the issue I have with it is that it makes its followers so rigid that it becomes a do or die affair. This becomes worse with the element of sectarianism and this, in my opinion, is what scares off other people especially in western countries.
