Now hoping the difficulty go's more down.

Looks like you may get your wish.  The hash rate in the last day has plummeted. People with older non efficient mining gear must be finally turning it off now that the price has fallen so dramatically.

i know, my s1 eats about 60 euro a month but mines about 26 euro.

The upgrade set cost 399 euro and makes it 453 gh/s what mines about 55 euro.

Do you consider the EU server a success? What is needed to get one in Asia?

Indeed.  Congrats on hitting a year.  How long have the rest of you been mining?  I jumped in around the beginning of the year.

Signed up with bitminter July 19, 2011, got my first bitminter block Oct 8 2011...

I think when I first started here bitminter had only found like 3 blocks so far Smiley

Love this pool!  thanks doc!

There's 60-70 TH/s running on it currently. Only a few people reported on it, but it appears to reduce the ratio of rejected work for European users. When I have some time I'll have a look at Asian hosting options.

Thanks for staying with the pool all this time! Those were the real early days. We actually only found 2 blocks before you joined. First block took 14 days. I believe we only had one or two GH/s in the pool. GPU mining. I remember I found a cheap refurbished 5970, which mined quite well. Ah, the good old days. Or at least the old days. Smiley

Started in May 11 of this year (I know i missed the boat) with an old BFL 60gh (more like 57GH) and now running like 2.0-2.05TH. I will add a bit of more power this week as I mod more S1 boards (got 3 running 24/24) to create a huge AntFurnace Tongue

With last week's big rental income, I've now fully ROI'd my Antminers and PSU.  Unfortunately, since my MIL is coming tonight and moving into the room where the units live (and where power is included in my rent), I may be going idle for a while.

Free power is nice.  The fun thing is learning that even with my 1KW PSU running full bore, my usage is still less than the average usage in my building.

According to the stats pager there are about 2000 users currently mining.  Does this mean there are 298 000 registered users who are inactive or at least not currently mining at BitMinter?

Yes. It's cool that 300 000 people have used Bitminter. It would be even cooler if they were all mining right now. Tongue

Makes me wonder how many people are mining bitcoins right now, globally.

5600-6000 on BTC Guild during any given shift in the last week.  It's a bit harder to tell these days because I know there are some people *still* trying to mine on CPU/GPU, and due to increases in minimum difficulty they only get a share in once every few hours.

It was closer to 10,000-12,000 about 6 months ago, if that's any indication of current mining trends.  The pool speed is up, but the number of mining accounts in a given shift is cut in half.

well little guys find it tough to wait for a block.
and if you moved up a bit to  1 or 2 th it was costly.
I think the euro miners are just quitting due to power cost.
My in house setup maxes at 4-6k in the winter and about 2 k in the summer.

Even with 9 sp20E's and 1 s-5 I can only run them under clocked. I can do 12th and that does not earn 1btc a week if a pool is a bit unlucky.

power cost for me is 565 usd a month 4 coins = 1265 so I am clearing 700 a month if I get average luck.

Very tough to mine if your power is 15 cents  a kwatt or more.

Been mining with BitMinter off and on for nearly two years.  At least in the short term, however, we are looking to pull the plug on our mining operation.

We've posted our 6+ Th/s equipment on eBay in case you're interested. All equipment is actively mining on Bitminter.

Gold and Platinum rated power supplies also available separately. Let me know if interested.

Call me crazy....but I can't quit mining.
Over the last 14 months its been all scrypt on GPU's and small asics.
Around 4GH on each.

Got bit by the BtC bug.
I tried cloud power and have 500gh on Zencloud, doing ok.
But I love the sound of fans.

Finally got a chance to setup the Antminer C1 yesterday.
Cool running, now i'm looking for a home for it.

Any pool running this long with this many supporters must be doing something right.
Room for one more?
