Beside all speculations - I really do not understand the technical background of the malleability attack that seems to be going on (and off, and on...) - the discussion about it is in a sphere way above my possibilities of understanding. But I was asking myself if this could have the impact we are seeing on several pools?

The only attack that could affect kano.is would be a block withholding attack (be it on purpose or not) There is nothing else that could affect the blocks we find. No external network or data sent to our bitcoind can positively or negatively effect the blocks we find by design. As I've mentioned before, it also makes no sense to compare time frames between pools. Our luck over the past month has been poor, but it has also only been over a period where we'd expect about 20-30 blocks. Other pools with bad luck have had that for hundreds of blocks - so a completely different issue. Statistically, a month of blocks here is like comparing 2 or 3 days at one of the biggest pools. Edit: and most relevant When we have good luck, it lasts longer because of that longer time to find blocks and when we have bad luck it also last longer because of that longer time to find blocks.

DANG IT !! What has happened to our luck? Hey...you new miners, have you been sacrificing your chickens? Let's go...we need to hit some blocks! LOL...just the ravings of an ol' fart. Enjoy Halloween everyone. CapnBDL I hear that. I think I made more off my signature campaign than I did off mining. Makes me want to cry, but at least my signature campaign brought some btc in this week. I had Chicken Alfredo tonight so lets hope that will do something for our luck! Got a phone call from a guy at work, he's bringing me something to mix up a couple batch's of chicken with (and a couple batch's of 10 alarm chili). He got me a couple of ghost peppers , if it doesn't work at kicking the blocks into high gear or kill me first , I think I'll have to give up on "the chicken".

For the record, the last time we hit a block was within 30 seconds of me getting a Pineapple/Ham Pizza out of the oven.
I don't really like this kind of pizza particularly, but if anyone want to give it a try...
hahaha

Well, going to a Crypto-conference now. IF we find a block this night, I'll report all the stuff I ate...

That lady luck is going to keep on bouncing along, she rewards and she goes on a dry spell but when she comes it is pop pop pop. The chances are as good one way or the other of course, but things do seem to randomly happen that are great sometimes as well as anything else.
All in for a long time coming.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

I am sure it does not mean anything... or that the pool does not work the same...
but I noticed something odd... I rebooted my miner a couple of hours ago and I just happened to walk by and notice the monitor showed best share value of 0
I switched to another pool and within a few seconds I had a number larger than zero populate into the field..
probably not relevant to anything, just an observation.

That's bitmains firmware and bitmains cgminer fork. It's done that for a long time ... it has no effect on finding shares, just a bug somewhere in their code when recording the best share.

Kano you really need to update your pool stats. I'm trying to compare stats with other pools and your published stats are weeks old. Last 5 blocks is 15 days, you show 13 also your advertised hash rate on the forum is 2900 th. ?

The block stats page only shows blocks, not the current unfound block. The current unfound block time is at the top of every page. On the blocks page the stats are: e.g. how long did it take to find the last 5 blocks ... oh and - block

Best news I've heard all day! Better coming in at 290.423% than at 372.958% like the last one. We are at the half way mark compared to last month. Would sure like to hit couple more before tonight but with our luck at 56.62% I do not foresee that happening. This was the worst month out of the last 4. Was really hoping to make enough for another s3 but maybe next month.:/

The only thing is, this pool has had improbably good luck for such a long time, it was only a matter of time before it "corrected" I suppose. Yeah, but that was quite a hard, fast correction - so I'm hoping for some quick blocks, too!

CKDB restart coming up in a minute. No mining will be affected (as usual for a ckdb restart) Web site will be lots of '?' stats for 15 minutes Changes this time are again behind the scenes. 1) This will speed up the shutdown in default settings - it can take a few minutes (last time 5 minutes) to actually shut down ckdb This change will pretty much completely remove that delay with default ckdb settings 2) I've added to the ckdb console to report shares and blocks independently of the ckpool console It also reports Unworthy blocks on the console within 5% so I can see all is going ok and also reports stale/rejected blocks if they ever happen e.g. if someone submits a block to the pool, late, after the block has changed Basically so the console gives me immediate info of how things are going if we aren't finding blocks Edit: restart completed Payout 381389 sent 1307dfe9c77fd695ce0adc0467878a5af7bd5e09988a6f6a776d3c6e7f3a1eb6 and confirmed ... now if I could just be required to do a lot more of them for November
