Hi,
Half my miners have failed over to their #2 pool. This pool is showing as DEAD.
Everything ok?
Best.
Nothing dead and nothing changed since the restart almost 10hrs ago

The live forever, undead, like zombies. If you go to the Workers->Management menu, you can change it to only show workers active in the last 7 days.

I have about 20TH into Kano pool. 4 x s7 and 1 x s5. While S7s are hashing well... I noticed that the s5 is hashing but doesn't report "Best Share" - its currently "0" I took out the s5 and pointed it to other pools and it show "Best Share" stats! In Kano worker page, the s5 is hashing and producing shares, but there is no "Best Share" readings on the Antminer page.
Is this normal?
Are you manually setting diff? If so, don't. The dodgy default driver from bitmain doesn't read share diff if you are mining at a power of 2 diff (eg 512, 1024 etc.). That's why kano's pool has a default non power of 2 diff of 1042. Aaaahh that's the deal. Thanks for that ck. I just noticed that some pools it works and some it doesn't I didn't realize this was the reason. Also, not to disparage ck's solo pool at all but another small pool that can use hashrate is bitminter. I have that as my backup for miners on kano. Not that I have anything against the Chinese (they make nice hardware after all) but I do think that having more than 50% of the network hashrate in a single country is potentially problematic so I would avoid chinese pools for that reason alone, to say nothing of the whole SPV argument. I also am a firm believer that smaller pools should be supported to disburse the hashrate as well. If you mine small pools like I have always done you can also reduce variance (because small pools have greater variance) by putting hashrate on more than one pool (if you have the hashrate to spread around that is). I added me newest S7 to kano yesterday.

Just because I was board I looked back to 1 year ago on this thread and the pool was around 1200 TH, sometimes dipping to around 300 TH when some big hitters were chasing altcoins. The pool today is 4600 TH, that is a 283% growth in one year. The comparison is that the network difficulty has doubled since then so 1 TH then is equal to about 2 TH now so really with "inflation" factored in, the pool has increased by about 92%. The USD price was $345 the price now is $457, a 32% increase. I know none of this really matters, as I said, I was board.

We need to hit this block and move on.
Patience. It'll come. When I first started here the first block to show up took *forever* (of course I was a bit anxious). But then you'll see that they show up consistently. It all works out and you'll find out how solid it is here.

wow 48h and nothing The amount of time is offset by size of payout. 48 hours without a block on a larger pool with large pool hash rate [Like Slush] has a very small payout per block for each miner because of very high pool hash rate. It is more devastating to go that long without a block on Slush than 48 hours without a block here with a smaller pool hash rate. A smaller pool hash rate means larger payouts per block for each miner.
