My power went out about an hour ago. Wish I had unplugged the two miners I kept running. I'm such a dumbass.
The power tried to come back twice before I could get to the miners and pull the plugs.
Now the whole side of the mountain is black
I'll be surprised if it comes back tonight. They say there are thousands with out power in the area.
At least I don't have to worry about flooding!
Mine on ladies and gentlemen! I'll be back when I can.

Edit: of course now it seems the wind and rain have stoped or at least taking a break.
Guess I'll play on twitter until my phone dies.

Sorry to hear that. I hope your power comes back one sooner rather than later. I hope we find a block quick before your 5d starts to drop. Good luck and get back on soon!

Thanks....appreciate that.....so the lights started flickering, and though I hated to pull the plug...thought I'd better lean on the side of caution.  Hopefully be able to spin back up in a few hours.....
Purchase something with Sine Wave tech and that will protect you from that kind of stuff. It takes the dirty power you get from the utilities and cleans it up and outputs it at a steady 120v / 240v as needed.

"In order to make a sine wave we have to use a Pulse-Width Modulated Inverter, which will increase the cost of the unit. A PWM Inverter will put out a sine wave with some distortion, but very little in comparison to the other type of modified sine waves. The benefits of Pure Sine Wave output are less stress on components, less noise, cleaner power and better long-term performance".

Such as the ones I use at home and work (for the phone/internet & network switches) from CyberPower 2200VA dual-conversion UPS

I found that using standby types the "10ms" changeover time they quote is rubbish. Maybe when lightly loaded but not at anything over 1/2 max rating.

Dual conversion means perfect AC power and zero transfer time. Take an eff hit but worth it.

And yes they also have 200-250v ones available starting at 3kw on up as I recall.

edit: Oh, I've seen them listed on Overstock.com and last I heard, Overstock still takes BTC for payment.

Thanks Fuzzy....appreciate your input.....

We tried organizing a good sized group buy but Caanan threw a wrench in the cogs. They decided they wanted a bank transfer for over 60 miners and not accept crypto (BTC).

Phil, have you heard back from stevenmosher at all? Did they even comment on breaking it into 2 smaller orders? I'm still in for some if so.

Halo Platform is one of the fastest Blockchains I've seen yet. They have FREE transactions. 250 Millisecond Block speeds. Smart contracts, Masternodes, blockchain games, and their own high speed DEX with BTC/ETH/USDC pairs. Similar to ETH, Waves, EOS, and more yet with only $1 million mcap. This video showcases the speed and reliability of the blockchain using the DEX, Masternodes (that will soon payout in BTC and ETH), blockchain games, and more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g74d3ixX7E8&feature=youtu.be

Hey guys, new miner here!

I am enjoying being part of the community and contributing my measles 9 THS to the pool!
I would like to know what params should i change to try get more shares and get a better performance, i hardly get 0.0001 BTC/day
SHould i change minimum difficulty default value? what can i do?

Thank you in advance.

Regards

There's nothing to do but keep your miner running Smiley

Your expected average BTC per day on 9THs is ~0.00243
http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php
but of course you have the 'ramp up' on the first few days (read Help->Payouts on the web site)
Also remember, that's per day, not per block - there's been 5 rewards so far today Smiley

You can't make a miner mine 'better' other than changing it's physical performance (or adding more miners)
The share difficulty has no expected difference, all it affects is variance and of course the pool wont let you put it too low so that you're sending truck loads of low diff shares to the pool to reduce your variance, since at ~18 SPM it's perfectly ok Smiley

Under the Workers menu, the Shitfs, Shift Graph and Workers pages tell you how you are performing.

Thank you for your help, then we will wait 3 days to see if i reach that average, because now my average by day is 0.0003

Can you tell me where can i find documentation to help me to understand Shitfs, Shift Graph and Workers pages?

Regards

I wonder if Canaan is looking for a USA reseller? It seems like they want to sell in what I would call wholesale lots rather than retail singles. That will create a vacuum that someone with prior business experience will take advantage of.

They used to use block_c  in San Francisco   they had a MOQ of ten I ran  2 or 3 group buys  using yan of block_c and kilo17  from this site.

They works well we sold 40 or 50 pieces  sidehack also helped.

I have been trying to work with them  on a group buy since last december of 2016  for the 721's and then in early sept of this year for the 741's.

I do not know what they are looking to do and at this point if anyone can get a deal with them  It would be nice.

My guess is unless coins drop to 3500  they just won't be easy to deal with.

as George Costanza   would say  "they got hand"

Anyone with a spare $44k can buy a crate of 60 and start reselling.  I'd imagine Crane is doing that.

The Pallet option gets you a power supply as well as a miner. I have wondered if you could run three 741's on two power supplies of the 1600 watt variety. The pallet costs $49K.

1600w is 1600w whether at 110 or 220.  Since each unit uses ~1150w, that's one per psu. Sad
