Hello there
Which should I use for Sweden (Umeå)

stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 or
stratum+tcp://de.kano.is:3333 or
stratum+tcp://nl.kano.is:3333

Antminer (if you are using that client) - Network and next to setting is diagnostics

Insert the links there and you will find the best one.

Also you can check the ping independently by using http://www.meter.net/ping-test/

How ? Sad

strange try kano.is

I've noticed that a couple of the nodes haven't been responding to pings recently for me even though they are still working (like statum.kano.is and us.kano.is).

EDIT: I also can't ping DE or SG... Grin

I think it´s down to the nodes hosted on AWS systems not accepting pings. The German node did until its recent move, but no longer does. I seem to remember mention of the new node being AWS.

Hi all.  I had over a PH of Kano hash go offline this morning.  Not a problem with the pool, just had ~150 antminers decide to not talk on my network.  Going nuts trying to figure out whats going on.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  Details at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3444035.msg35897218#msg35897218

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.

Hi.

Question about wallets to mine to.

I remember there was a discussion in this thread for a while ago about wallets and high transaction fees, but I still can't seem to figure out how the search funtction works.

Anyway there are many questions in this thread repeated hundreds of times (for example about how the ramp up works) so maybe I will be forgiven.

I've been mining to Exodus desktop wallet for a while. Today when I opened it I got a warning that it seems like I'm mining there or keep getting small frequent payments and because of the fees adding up from number of small payments they are at the moment over half my balance if I was to send my BTC somwhere else Huh

I paniced for a while, but there must have been something wrong with the info because now when looking at my available balance it's about 96 % of my total balance. Hope this is the case.

Anyway Exodus doesn't seem to be the right choice to mine to. I know I read about Electrum somewhere (maybe that was discussed in this thread) and I also installed it and changed my payout address from Kano there today to try it out. I'll see what happens when the next block matures.

When sending BTC from Electrum there seems to be a setting for the fees depending on how long (how many blocks) I'm prepared to wait for until the transaction. As I find Exodus much more newbie-friendly I was thinking about mining to Electrum for a while (maybe 5 blocks to try it out) and then try to send everything to Exodus at once with the fee setting targeted at, for example within, 10 blocks which would keep the fees down.

Is this a good or bad idea and what would you insted suggest to keep the fees as low as possible?

If the info is of any use my BTC will probably later on get transferred to Coinbase/GDAX. Mining directly to Coinbase is also a choice, but it doesn't feel really safe to keep all my assets on Coinbase.

Mine on and thanks sidewinder and adellaripa for the latest blocks. Mine on!!!

I'm looking forward to my new house's setup where I'll be venting out an old dryer duct--should buy a new duct, though. Looking forward to upgrading someday too and put that 220v outlet to good use. Grin

Until the old house's electric gets cut off at the end of the month, everything's still running there, though. Hey, I'm technically co-located. Cool
I would advise newcomers to the kano pool to use this tape for the outlet fan

https://www.ebay.com/p/15mm-X-30m-Tape-High-Temperature-Heat-Resistant-Polyimide-260-300-Celsius-L7e6/846140111
Cool. I'll keep this in mind when I hook it up to vent out a new 'bendy' aluminum dryer duct. Wink

If you have 2PH or more you can win between 0.6 BTC up to 3 BTC from my pocket, for finding blocks - see the first post.
There's still 7 BTC left.

I think you're doing it backwards. A BTC reward to a small miner would get them closer to putting a PH into the pool  Wink

I'm a smaller miner and I think his promotion is doing just fine to be honest.

March and April have been great months even if we don't hit another block until May.  Trust me, I'm rooting for another one in less than 5 hours to make it a 4 block day.  haha
