small note for those who were saying 7nm wasnt comming next . https://news.bitcoin.com/japans-gmo-specs-price-7nm-bitcoin-mining-rigs/  tomorrow is next.

With delivery in October it still isn't really official. Not worth the gamble imo

Yep, and drawing too much power.   It's still better than 2 s9's, but not by much.

The *sigh* is because at least 3-4x a month here and in other threads someone comes up with the same 'idea' of using a cooler. Would they ever think of using a cooler as a room air conditioner by leaving its door(s) open? Unlikely. Why? Because of their low BTU ratings it loses its cool rather fast before cooling off the room and yet the same thought never enters their minds when it comes to cooling miners...

I'll give an 'A' for them considering the idea but folks need to think things through a lot more...

OK, beer cooler might not be enough.  But when I find something I won't just leave them lay in there but rather duct the heat out. I have to have them outside as this is phoenix and it's now 105+ everyday. If I keep em in the house they use too much power to run my air and WE CAN'T HAVE THAT! It's a Mobile Park and my elec is included (no meter even) and I have a garage on a separate circuit but it gets hot in it by the afternoon. I have 5 S3s that I have a total of $150 (w/PSUs) so with them all running my ROI is within my lifetime. Think I wanna pay for em and eventually sell as a package. sort of a mini mining farm. Then buy something with more power and small electric usage that I can maybe just leave in a corner of my place. I have an upright freezer in the garage but I don't wanna cut it up as it's fulla food, but I think it WOULD work.

Swamp cooler might be enough to cool your intake air in the desert.

Don't wanna run that much moisture through them.

All May not be lost!  After long hold times w/the bank and email sessions w/bitmain I have gotten them to admit the fact that the problem COULD be on their end (the banks end).  This would be another lifetime first for me made possible by the crazy adventure that is bitcoin mining...MAN what a crazy business we got ourselves mixed up in hey?

I have ordered and paid via wire several times without issue. I usually add a little extra funds to cover banking fees on their end. I prefer paying with BTC when it is available.

Shipping into the US I have had best luck using DHL. When I use UPS I always get a bill for additional customs brokerage fees after delivery. I haven't had any additional fees due with DHL.

DHL is the way to go. I live in Canada and have no problems with DHL. Great service and they bill me after the fact for brokerage and duties. UPS screws up every delivery

Here in the mid-west USA I've had decent luck with Fed-Ex.  Their custom charges (for packages over $2500) are about half of what UPS rips me off for.

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.

Yeah it's like saying ... wow a new ferrari is coming ... but it actually runs like a Lada and we've no idea why it isn't faster than a Lada with the 'supposed' great new engine ... but it costs like a ferrari = less bang for your buck Smiley

... ahhhh OK ... it's marketing ... many miners are stupid and will buy anything Cheesy

Hi Everyone,
I have decided to sell 2 Antminer S9s complete with PSU and power cords.  one is a 13.5TH and one is 13TH.  purchased in March and April of this year.  Both are hashing at 100% with no issues.

I joined this forum specifically for Kano's pool so I don't have enough reputation to post in the marketplace.  However, you can check my rep on eBay where I have 100% positive with over 300 transactions, including high dollar items like vehicles under the username rd7642.

I am in the southwest USA.  with the recent price drops at Bitmain I would sell both together for $1500.00.  PM if interested.

And DHL is half of fedex from my experience and way less than UPS

P.S. You spelled 'Lada' with a capital L - I guess this shows your respect towards the vendor, while 'ferrari' being just another car out there... Cheesy

O great...there's that angle!  I don't even remember what I chose for shipping.  O well, after this cluster is resolved I will be glad to have any shipping of any kind.  Or maybe I will get my obamacoin back and I can forget the whole incident and move forward w/BTC.  Seems everyone thinks bitmain is an evil company...that may be true, but when dealing w/my bank and bitmain at the same time I have found the lesser of the two evils to be bitmain by a long shot!

Yeah the issue though is that the performance figures of their '7nm' engine are pretty much the same as those of the 16nm engines already running.
Check the Canaan A841 ...

... and those GMO numbers are pre-release performance figures also ...

Totally agree on the miner. I was just keeping the Lada joke going. Hey, if Kano likes 'em, they must run good, right?! Wink

Edit: On a serious note, they probably just have more chips since they're smaller.

Guys tell me tell me that I made the correct choice,I just bought 68 refurbished avalonminer 741 with 1 year warranty for 14000 euros, thats 510 th, so I paid 25 euros per TH,if I had gone with the S9i new with 3 months warranty,I would have bought with 14000 14 miners with a total of 196 TH which is 72 euro per TH.So I already have 110TH in the pool and I will reach 620 by the end of june,I hope i made the right choice.
